Mmm, I assume we will be resting a few for this one?

Luckily I missed the first half. However it is not often u lose 4-1 and still think that you had enough chances to win it. Good run out for some youngsters, and no real shame to be out of this cup given our fixture issues.

Well let's keep things in perspective, Martin.
We didn't really put out a team that would guarantee a win and the admission price reflected that.
Having said that we probably had 25 goal attempts to their 15 and must have wasted at least half a dozen golden chances.
Even taking our line-up into account, Three Bridges didn't look as poor as many we have seen this season and gave us plenty of problems. So it ended up being 'one of those nights'.....being the better side, letting in soft goals and missing plenty ourselves.
But what better night for that to happen than an early round of the Sussex Cup ?
So let's not overreact too much to what we have just witnessed, though it was certainly a surprising and disappointing evening.
Positives ? The little number 12.
Negatives ? Bright Temba....Oh Dear !

Bright Temba why is he at the club? He is clueless. And his 1st touch is appalling. Sadly if we are serious about promotion the squad needs improving and the weaker components need to be moved on.

Not sure that it is fair to single players out,but surely our patience must be running out with Bright.I have been one of those supporters who has always believed that he will come good but after recent performances I don't think it will happen. He is always a willing player but just seems out of his depth.I do hope I am proved wrong.

Fair comment by Conquest, in my view. I, like I think many of us, have really wanted Bright to do well but it simply is not happening. He has shown loyalty and that should be respected; but I really don't think it is in his interest for things to continue as they are. As for the game, I agree with Mick. Let's hope that it can be just be one of those days which can be put behind us. A pity for the youngsters since it makes what should have been a positive experience for them a pretty negative one.

Really surprised again to see Rowe playing as we should be wrapping him in cotton wool in my opinion and where was Watt again? is he a player or an assistant manager? barely played this season and does not look fit. Is he carrying an injury? With Reece Butler taking a break and Butcher with a hammy injury, we are looking pretty desperate for defenders at the moment. I have said it before, an injury to Ollie and we are deep in the s**t. I do hope something is happening behind the scenes to get in some defensive cover.

As for Bright, his confidence is shot to pieces. Think he was really poorly managed last season and that has not helped. The lad was in most squads last year along with Tyrell but hardly played when it was clear he should have been out on loan, knocking in goals at county level. I wouldn't give up on him but he needs to go away and get a hatful of goals at somewhere like Westfield or Bexhill.

Three Bridges had a few disruptions to their team as well. It does look as if we pretty much need to have nearly all of our players fit and available to maintain our good form. Need a good performance on Saturday against a Carshalton side who didn't have much trouble with Walton Casuals.

Agree Tim that once we are short of our first choice eleven that the sparkle rapidly tarnishes. It will indeed be a test on Saturday. We need more depth in the squad as others have repeatedly suggested. Miracles apart, we will not get the 100+ points needed to win this most challenging league; but with the many positives Darren has already brought we can hope and expect to be in the top five come April. What I would like to see before then is an ability to turn around a game that is going wrong. We were nowhere near doing that yesterday. This, above all else, is something we must work upon if this season is to end on the positive note we all want.

Some interesting news from Tuesday's game. Firstly, I was unaware that 3 Three Bridges players didn't arrive until very late meaning their keeper had to start as an outfield player and actually scored their 2nd goal. Can think of a couple of Hastings players who I wished had turned up 90mins late.

Also Jamie Crellin has had a rant on twitter about the terrible abuse he got for 90mins and has labelled Hastings supporters as scum! Poor old Jamie, I do feel for him, you naughty supporters no

Bizarre about the keeper, surprised that hasn't made more headlines! Very unusual for a keeper to score in any situation let alone that one!

I couldn't make it to the match on Tuesday but followed it on Twitter but I do think that before the game we had the attitude that there was no question that we wouldn't win the game, it was just a matter of how many we would score against them, a mere formality if you like.
Possibly complacency set in, but at the end of the day I think that they wanted to win the game more than we did.
We probably looked on the game as an inconvenience as we would sooner be concentrating on the League/FA Trophy and would have been playing Faversham at home in the League that night.
In my opinion these Sussex Senior Cup games like the Ryman League Cup are a total waste of time unless you make it to the Final and I am glad that we are out, but this in no way excuses a poor performance on the night and the manner in which we were knocked out.

You`re quite right Adrian, it is, if not a small on, a silver lining really, but it`s not nice spending any amount of money (those who paid that is) and seeing s**t like that. It was an eye opener after the last few games though,
"funny old game"

Saint Jamie was of course impeccably behaved throughout the game( and in previous returns), and in no way provoked any of the stick that he got. To be honest, it was pretty mild.
