After the great win against Guernsey is it another home game against HBFC200a.jpg

Herne Bay is currently the number 22 in the table with 8 points out of 11 games. Scored 16 and conceded 28.

Lost 6 and drew one of their away games. Lost yesterday away to Godalming Town 3-2.

Last season we lost both games; away 0-2 and in the last game at home 1-2 ( goal Cole)

And we? After the FA Cup exit I think we have to focus on the League. Yesterday a lot of top placed teams lost and if we can win a few in a row we will be back were we belong; in the top half of the table.

Visit the Pilot Field and support the team!

Come on you U'sssssssssss.

And actually it should have been 10. A missed penalty and several sitters which went begging. A truly woeful display from Herne Bay, but we deserve credit for a very impressive team performance; for one of the quickest goals seen at Pilot Field and for a real beauty of a final goal from Sam Cole. Well done!

What a strange few days. Not taking anything away from the lads who have been utterly ruthless, but Guernsey were abysmal and Herne Bay were as bad as anything I have ever seen. There defending had to be seen to believed and it was like watching Saturday morning u10 football. And let's be totally honest, we were much better last night then against Guernsey, utterly dominant from the first to the last minute, and if poor old Bright didn't have two left feet we would have won by 15, no exaggeration. I'll leave others to comment more on the game as it was such a non event It actually become quite boring, but what a huge confidence boost this must be for the club. We have been called "flat track bullies" in the past, hammering the sides at the bottom but failing against those at the top. Are we seeing that again this season? Perhaps, but let's wait until after the two tricky ties on the plastic versus Whytleafe and Walton before we make any judgement as to where we are this season. Me personally, I think we now have a very exciting few months ahead of us as long as everyone stays fit.

ps. Great to see Jack McLean at ground last night. How far is he from full fitness? What a great addition he will be to the squad once again.

Agree John we have thrashed 2 dire outfits, like I said on Guernsey thread its difficult to comment on us as all we have done is what any decent team would. We have got to consistently beat teams at the top end and we have failed twice in that respect. If we can turn in good performances and get 4pts from the next 2 games then good we are moving forward, but less than that and the doubts will still be there

I think the comments from the last three games prove that what we all crave is exciting entertaining football (i.e. Margate) rather than the thrashing of some bunch of no-hopers. I wasn't there last night (choosing to watch another bunch of no-hopers lose at Brighton instead) but it sounds like it was even less of a contest than Guernsey, which was bad enough.
However, we can only beat what's in front of us and if we do it in style then there can't really be any complaints.

I love to see goals but agree with john it was almost a bit boring towards the end. But the best goal difference in the league.

Got boring because we was scoring alot of goals are you lot mad lol for me the more the better as just winning 1-0 is a good win but smashing 2 teams 6-1 then 7-0 is great I can't fault anything from last night's game. Now bring on the next game I'm not having a pop or anything

Your exactly right Wayne but also see the other point of view. Last 20mins was just farcical with players almost walking the ball in and Bright missing at least 3 open goals from 5 yards. It really was comical but also pretty desperate and boring times. Even the players looked bored at the end.

I don't think that's a 'mad' opinion, Wayne.
As far as I am concerned the Margate game stands head and shoulders above just about any other home game this season for entertainment, even though we lost it. It was real edge-of-your-seat stuff with both teams going flat out for a decisive strike in an even contest. There was passion and intent from both sides. Great stuff.
Once we got our third on Saturday the contest was effectively over. South Park, East Grinstead and Godalming were similarly as good as over long before the end.
Yes, of course I want us to win and win well but I would also like just a little excitement along the way.....and some of these lesser teams aren't capable of giving us a decent game it seems.

I was a little bored, because it should have been 15-0 and we did not seem to care the towards the end.

Agreed, this was over as a contest after we scored our third goal -  Herne Bay's defending for that goal was among the worst I have ever seen at PF. I thought, however, that we did keep going; it was just that Bright, Jack and Matt Bodkin missed a host of sitters. Give credit to Sam Cole though. I'm sure I'm not alone in appreciating his effort for our last goal.

I felt a bit sorry for the young Herne bay side. Too many silly mistakes, but at least they kept trying to play passing football.
Should have been the perfect game for jack and bright to build their confidence. Despite scoring one each, I'm afraid it might have had the opposite effect.
Thought bodkin was great yet again. He's been the standout so far this year.
Final thought-how the hell did we only draw against this lot....twice?

I know where you're all coming from i do but I just think how a few seasons ago we where all saying we will smash someone soon and it never really happened but now we have and I hope it carries on. but like I said 1-0 will do me in every game from now to the end lol

Quite happy to be a bit bored by the last 20 minutes or so when we are winning easily. Herne Bay had 6 starting members from the team we drew with earlier in the season and one player missing was Haslar who has played well against us in the past. It was a bit surprising to see 5 Herne Bay players on the half way line as we scored one of our second half goals!
Our next 2 away games will be good challenges for our exciting team. We could do with some convincing away wins in the league to back up our home form.
