A message from Darren Hare informs the extent of the injuries that we currently have in the squad.
Frannie Collin trained last Thursday in a bid to be fit for the first game of the season, but unfortunately it came a week to soon. He is improving daily, and Darren hopes he will be fully fit for the game at Chipstead on 27th August.
Fitness coach Harrison Grant is providing Frannie with extra one-on-one strengthening and muscle activation sessions in the gym.
Bright Temba is still ten days away from playing fully fit. Although he doesn't feel any pain and has a good stretching limit, but that doesn't mean it is healed. Precautionary steps are being taken to ensure he returns at the right time.
Sam Cole hyper-extended his knee last Saturday against South Park. There was a risk of making it worse at Herne Bay, so he was left out as a precaution, so he could be fit for Sunday.
Jack Harris has responded well to the early treatment and it feeling positive. He has a good range of movement in his ankle which is very encouraging.
As soon as the pain goes completely, he will begin weight bearing and strengthening the ligament - only then we will know more on the timescale of him returning to training and then back to full fitness, although early indications show that the healing process is well underway.
A refreshing change from the club and management updating us on the current injury updates. The silence from seasons past has been infuriating to say the least.
Also impressed with Darren's honesty in the Observer today and certainly didn't hold back on his disappointment at the 2nd half performance on Tuesday. The only slight worry for me was that he felt we may not need to extend Jay Mays loan if Frannie and Bright are fit. Unless there has been the most meteoric improvement from young Bright in pre season , he is still a long way from being ready to leading the line in a promotion chasing team. No doubting his potential but still only an impact player late on for me. If Jack is out for a minimum of 6 weeks then I suggest its a no brainer to prolong Jay's loan.
Is Jack Mclean still with us? if so what is the news on him?
Agree with you John , this is exactly as fans , we want to be informed . It stops unnecessary rumours which in the past has also caused problems in itself . As far as I am aware Jack is still in the USA and is due back in September . Hopefully he will be fit from his injury on the last day of the season . I'm not sure if the club have been in touch with him though , or even if Jack has been in touch with the club since leaving shortly after the season ended ? I hope there is a future for him with us as he was exciting to watch last season
Very true Dave but only after he pimped himself around half of England looking for the top bidder. It was only after no one offered him more money he came back to us. I really am his biggest fan but reluctantly agree with the club decision plus I think the budget had been used up anyway on finding his replacement.
This is probably where we miss Sammy Adams as he could do so many different jobs for us but that's a thing of the past now. I have to say, the current striking issues are a huge concern just two games in. Reading the Lewes forum, they are moaning that they have no central defenders and 5 top quality strikers, not that is done them much good on Wednesday.
