After a great second half display against South Park we will now meet
Herne Bay started the season with a away draw against Tooting & Mitcham United ( 1-1).
Last season we lost both games; away 0-2 and at home last April 1-2 despite a goal from Sam Cole .
Herne Bay play at: The Altira Park Stadium ( Former known as Winch's Field) , Stanley Gardens , Herne Bay.
And we?
Despite imo the very low attendance at The Pilot Field (322) it was a great start of the season with a big 4-1 win. Maybe lucky to get the equalizer just before the break but the second half make the difference with Steve Watt our leading top scorer for now.
Sam Cruttwell made quite a difference when he came on the pitch the second half . Hopefully the injury of Jack Harris is not too bad.
So it is only the second game of the season but maybe we can already see the difference with the last 2 games we played against the club from Kent.
Have you all a safe journey and support the team 100%.
Not a good performance I'm afraid, played well for first 20 minutes, then it went downhill from there, next 25 mins it was even, then we were totally outplayed in the 2nd half, we missed Sam Cole and had no pace up front. Serious food for thought and I'm sure the management team learnt a lot tonight, as Herne Bay weren't good.

Fair summary ChrisB,for parts of the second half we were hanging on for dear life. Did not think Herne Bay were a bad side and at the end most of our supporters were pleased with a point.
Hope the injury problem soon gets resolved, only 4 subs last night.
