After the very spectacular game against Casuals it is now against
Bridges are currently the number 15 in the table with 42 points out of 31 games. Scored 40 and conceded 44 goals.
Lost this week at home against South Park 1-4. Top scorer: Sam MacVicar with 6 goals.
Last season we drew at home 2-2 ( goals Brinkhurst ,Hassan) and lost away 2-3 ( goals Adams,Bankole )
And we ? After the 3-3 against Casuals we can't allow to lose points at home anymore. 3 points must be always the target at home and against Bridges - who are having not a great run lately - it must be possible. Good to see Zac Attwood on the score-line back again. Hope a lot of supporters will turn up for this game and will shout and sing our team to the 3 points!
had not really paid much attention to three bridges this season but surprise how bad they are doing when they did quite well last year. on paper it should be 3 points and a red card for crellin or whitehead probably

What a total and utter shambles that was and totally unacceptable from players and management. If I was Gary Wilson I would be digging deep into my pockets and paying back the entry fee to every single Hastings supporter today. No heart, no passion, poor selection, poor tactics and all this against a quite awful Three Bridges team who had lost 9 of their last 12 games. If anyone comes on here and defends that performance in any way they need their head seeing too. It was flat from the first to the last minute with just no drive or change of plan coming from the touchline. Ill let others comment on individual performances but again today we had at least 3 players starting who are no better than county league and in Jack Walder, the luckiest player alive, after he clearly head butted their central defender straight in the face and got away with it. It really is just getting boring making the same comments week in week out. For me and all those around me that was one of the worst performances I have seen for many year from Hastings but how can that be? there just has to be some really huge issues now at the club for us to play like we did against Guernsey to now produce two totally inept performances in a week. I hope everyone else is as angry and frustrated as me today.
Absolutely livid.Agree with everything John has said plus we had to put up with diabolical officials.Just wish,as supporters,we would get the reasons for their stupid decisions.I have come away from the game not knowing why we had a goal disallowed and why we didn't get two blatant penalties. On any other area of the pitch they would have been given as fouls. As for the incident at the end with the Three Bridges player rolling around in the penalty area after being felled by Walder, what decision did the referee give, the answer was NONE! Why was that? Was he so badly fouled that no one came to his aid, even though he was on the floor for so long,or was he attacked? Why wasn't one of them sent off?
I have come away from the game feeling very let down by my team and totally confused by the officials
Not interested in the performances of the officials but our play was pretty useless as it was for much of the game against Corinthian Casuals. Three Bridges were very competitive and won most of the important challenges and that was enough to win against an uninspiring Hastings. Why was Jack Walder so keen to get himself sent off? Does he need a few weeks off? Thought Jamie Crellin played well at the back for Bridges but not sure what this says about our performance.
A very disappointing performance today and certainly hard to believe that this was the same team that were so impressive against Gurnsey.
I do however feel (and I appreciate I run the risk of being 'sectioned' by John here) that this was one of those days that we SHOULD have been able to sum up by saying "The sign of a good team is one that wins when it plays badly".
Yes the quality of our performance was well below what is needed but, let's be totally objective here, we didn't get a single break today, did we ?
Their goal resulted from a challenge that broke kindly for their player who scored off the post. Other than one other first half chance they produced NOTHING the whole game.
We were awful first half but did at least show much more fight after the break and would have got SOMETHING from the game with just a little more good fortune.
The disallowed goal looked questionable (admittedly from the main stand) and we appeared to have at least one decent penalty shout. We also peppered their goal with numerous attempts that on another day may have found a way in.
Don't get me wrong. I'm not defending our performance today....but if there had been any justice we would have been the team that 'sneaked the win they didn't really deserve rather than them'.
Have to agree with Tim. I never rated Jamie Crellin in his Hastings days but thought he had an extremely effective game against our naive tactics today.
Sam Cruttwell was my MotM today...the only player who looked capable of delivering a telling pass,
One final point, I can't remember a game with so many free kicks. The ref seemed to blow for a foul every 30 seconds. And the "stop start" game was another thing that made it such a frustrating spectacle today.
I didn't think the officials were bad today - and from me that is a compliment. There have been far far worse. It was our fault today. The starting side was wrong. The motivation was lacking. Three Bridges did the simple things, challenging, blocking, working hard. Quite simply we didn't.
I was actually bored by the football. Apart from the good company at the clubhouse, I wasted my money.
Three bridges obviously came for a fight, which you have to match and then use your superior football to overcome. Neither happened. They targeted walder from the start. A lot of late and off the ball challenges expecting him to react. In the end he obliged and was lucky to stay on.
Thanks to everyone who chipped in for josh though, he's gonna be out for a long long time and sounds a painful recovery as well. some of the individual amounts contributed were incredibly generous to say the least and shows how highly he is appreciated by the fans. Not sure what the total is but was very decent indeed I'm sure.
White coats for Mick........quick question, when Ollie Rowe was surprisingly subbed anyone know why Sam Adams was stuck in at right back? Everyone agreed against Guernsey that Sam was back in his best position, leading the line, so why so out of favour just 2 games later? Would it not have been better to take Liam off, go 3 at the back, with Ollie in his preferred central role, and really push on With Sam up top? Another quick question.......Alfie Hall? Could swear he is still our player, the same player that was MOM in his last appearance against Merthyr. Final quick question, anyone have any idea what has happened to all these possible new signings we were looking at? Only 4 subs named again today including, Tyrell, who's confidence looks shot, out of favour Bright and young Foster, who is far from ready yet. Where is the pressure coming from on those players playing each week. Doesn't matter how they play, they know they are guaranteed to start.
Looks like I had a lucky escape not being there today, but am very surprised that any of you are shocked, disappointed or dismayed As long as club keeps on appointing unproven managers, and having players that don't always give 100% then this type of season will stay the norm. We need a manager who can motivate and not de motivate, and players who want to play for Hufc and not just turn up to collect the money.
not much i can add that not been said but that was a shocker yesterday. we look like 11 individuals with no plan a and when no plan a did not work plan b not even worked on. instead bloor is laughing and joking with the sub bench. was he laughing at how bad it was? we was less motivated, less fit than three bridges and they are a poor side but had a game plan and we didnt. total waste of 10 quid yesterday maybe players and management can have a collection for supporters at next game
Most supporters have good memories of games at the Pilot Field. This definitely wasn't one of them. Won't be going to Moseley after that showing , couldn't stand any more disappointments this week.
Always liked the idea of only paying players expenses and then having a payment by results system in place. Nothing for a defeat, lets say £50 for a win if in the lower half of the table and more if in the play off positions. You could add other bonuses for size of crowd etc. Perhaps for games like Three Bridges a wage deduction system could be instigated for inflicting such hardship on spectators!
Seen it all before - hot and cold, misfiring, inconsistent performances and just not the finished article. Hugely frustrating that a team that does what it did against South Park and Guernsey ends up with one point from the Casuals and 3 Bridges games. I'd happily settle for performance levels averaging nicely between those two extremes with consistent results instead of what we are producing now. Which is how it was for the 2 seasons following the rule book relegation of 98/99.
As things stand - due to the ridiculously contrived play off system that rewards indifferent performances over 46 games with a knock out opportunity to grab a promotion place - we are still, undeservedly, in with a shout despite already having lost 10 games. The next three games need to yield 7 points at least.......
I think we are still in with a chance of the play-offs but these last two home games have given our prospects a severe dent. Certainly, I'd agree the next three games are very important; as are the next 10 games given that 8 of those are away. I was expecting we would get at least 4 points from our last two games and then look to get an absolute minimum of 15 from these next 10. That no longer looks at all good enough, particularly given that our final run-in is far from easy. So, yes, if we get next to nothing from our next three games we are really up against it.
we still have good chance of play of i think but with squad we have we are badly off where we should be. thought wilson was a good choice at start and he has manage to get decent players but that is where it stops. with budget we must have and players we should be fighting with folkestone for title instead we are fighting to get promotion through the back door as SS says. hear people talk that wilson succes at eastbourne was cos of coaching staff he had then with the way we perform sometimes i think that is true cos we look clueless on saturday and maybe when we do play well it is luck. i think only reason we still in with chance of play off is thanks to razor and the fa cup run mean we still can throw money at it but cant last forever.
Fair comment, Peter; but I think we have no alternative but to stick with and give full support to the current Management Team for the remainder of the season. I felt though, with the budget made available by the owners, that it was always understood to be a minimum requirement for Garry that he should get us to the play-offs. Should we not, then at the least, I would expect there to be a searching review before we go into next season.
Garry had that vital ingredient at Langney Sports all those years ago. Time. You can be sure they went through frustrating times there too - just like us. But he was backed superbly by a patient board and I think he'll get that here too. To get a country bumpkinship league side to the Conference top tier without massive sums of money was a huge achievement by Garry and Nick Greenwood. I'd be happy with National South in 4 years........
The players must be as brassed off as supporters at the misfiring performances. Hugely frustrating on and off the pitch for everybody.
We should make the play offs which while I detest them, I will two facedly back the U's if we end up with one of those spots. But let's get a decent return from the next three games.
fair comment Geoff and SS but just a big question on who got eastbourne to conference was it Greenwood rather than wilson? i think it is right to stick with wilson as we still have good chance but just frustrting we should be much better than we are and maybe wilson need to ask question about how good his backroom team is if he want to be success again
