After the draw against Chipstead another away game against
Whyteleafe is the current nr. 12 in the table. 41 points out of 26 games. scored 37, conceded 37 goals.
So they have 4 points more than we have with 6 games more played!
Last season we drew both games; at home 2-2 and away 0-0.
Whyteleafe play at: Church Road , Whyteleafe
And we? After the draw against Chipstead, for some maybe unexpected but Chipstead has almost a new squad since a few weeks it is now important who will be our new goalkeeper after the injury of Josh Pelling. Also important is that we have some consistency in our performances. That will bring confidence and maybe more supporters to TPF.
Fully agree Lenny, kingy is a legend such a top bloke, is there any news on who will be in goal tomorrow ?? Matt cruttwell, Dan rose, Sammy Adams or have we signed a new goalkeeper ??
From Twitter - Straight from the kick off, Adams is caught in possession by Francis, who marches on to beat Cruttwell low to his right. 3-1 to the hosts.
clueless performance no ideas no tactics to change things just embarasing. certainly no fault with our keeper. at chipstead people said the manager made his excuses before the game with pitch i saw in observer that he got the excuse in yesterday saying that hed rather play on our pitch than a 3g but rather play on a 3g than chipstead. whatever pitches are same for both side but our management dont have any ideas on how to change games although they are good at making things worse. our players looked like they had no motivation again today and no interest. to many christmas partys maybe or maybe they just dont play for this manager look like we are the chelsea of the ryman south. not sure i can be bother to do away games anymore total waste of time. deserved what we got today
Sadly, very few other teams have had problems on the 3G this season. Whyteleafe have a quite dreadful home record and have lost 10 of 16 at home this season. I think we just have to start facing the facts that despite the squad we have assembled we are going nowhere this season. You only have to look at the forum these days and see how many people are posting to see everyone appears to have given up and are totally fed up now with what is going on. Very dark days are back at the Pilot Field and feel so sorry for our new owners. They deserve so much better than this rubbish being dished up most weeks.
it is astonishing with the players we have that we produce dross that we do. we dont look like a team or play like a team or have spirit like a team. we have produce some ok games to although probably against very poor sides. not sure it is dark days yet john but they are grey and gloomy and you say you are sorry for owners, whoever they are, but they are the ones that pick the manager so why feel sorry for them? i think once we have caught up a bit like maybe end of january then if it looks unlikely we make play offs then maybe that is a time to make a decision with managers but i am so shock with how bad we are this season
i did not here any one complain when we beat Worthing on their 3G. 3-1 was it? to many money players not enough Hastings players. you have to play for the club. to many play for the money ? it will never work until the men at the top get their heads out of their bum's or we will be here for years to come. the sign's are already here.
I wasn't at the game today so I can't comment on any aspect of the match. I have decided not to bother with this forum as it is so negative and calling for sackings is not what I want to read on a so called supporters forum. Dave Walters was vilified by the same people for having too many managers. How long before the present owners come in for the same treatment.
I will keep on making a fool of myself on John's excellent prediction page but its goodbye from me on here.
Steve, that's a shame but your idea of a forum is different to mine, if you only have positive views they become very boring, ok in good times you may argue that is fine, but these aren't good times whatever spin you may look to put on it, an overpaid under performing squad isn't good for any club whatever the level. Sadly I saw like you the game on Tuesday and if you can honestly say that 100% was given by the players over the 90 minutes I will be surprised. We need a manager who players respect and respond too, this clearly isn't happening at present so what other alternatives are there than to change manager or the players.
There is no point in anyone just posting saying I'm being negative etc, lets have opinions as to what Gary and Danny should be doing to get more from the players, and improving performances.
I think the idea that Garry was going to be able to bring us instant success was crazily optimistic. You can't BUY this at any level and we should remember that we started from a position way behind the likes of Folkestone, Whyteleafe, Faversham etc. at the start of the season. While I hear the argument that this squad was assembled with a view to achieving such an outcome, it was unlikely to happen. Four months ago we were all saying "give Garry time"....it appears that for some this time has already run out.
Of course I can't deny that we have been shockingly inconsistent this season and have no explanation for that. It does seem we can turn it on with style against slightly inferior opposition but struggle badly against the better sides...and are considerably short of Ryman Premier level yet.
Are the players always giving their all ? Well I confess to only seeing home games this campaign and can't honestly complain about lack of effort...sometimes it just hasn't happened for us.
I personally think the LAST thing we should be doing now is replacing Garry. We are still very much in the hunt for a play off place. Let's hope we see a good reaction from the players after some disappointing results.....seven points from the three games over Christmas & New Year should be within us.
Got to agree with Mick, after the amount of changes we've had over the years sometimes you have just got to make a solid commitment to stick with the management team you choose come what may until at least mathematically you can't make the playoffs ( which I do still think we'll get into ) and then you review the situation.
Obviously it's not going as well initially as we hoped but don't throw the baby out with the bath water too early.

I went yesterday and I felt that Whyteleafe wanted to win the game more than we did. They made things happen whereas we just expected things to happen.
I can't remember their keeper having to make a save all game, apart from the first half when a whyteleafe defender nearly scored an OG with a header.
One example of team spirit was in the second half when we had a corner, the whyteleafe players were all talking to each other organising their defence etc etc, but the Hastings players were all silent, not talking to each other at all, as if there was no team spirit.
One other thing I noticed was that the Whyteleafe team looked fitter than us,they closed us down very quickly and didn't give us any space or time on the ball, especially Zac Attwood who had 3 or 4 players onto him as soon as he got the ball, and they kept going for the whole 90 minutes, whereas we seemed to fade and give up quite easily, which may explain why we can never play the same both halves.
Also with Sam Crabb playing right back and Sam Cole playing left back, they both like to get forward a lot which is good but they left us quite exposed at the back when whyteleafe broke away, Matt Cruttwell could not be blamed for any of the goals.
What has happened to Alfie Hall as I though he was quite a decent left back, which would then let Sam Cole play in Left Midfield which I think is his natural position.
That is the 3rd 4-1 defeat of the season and we are now 11 points off the play offs, but at the moment we look no better than a mid table side, so we need to put some consistant wins together and start winning some of these games in hand.
Sorry to sound so negative, but to be honest there were not many positive moments to take from the game.
