After the very disappointing result against Faversham it is time to bounce back against
The Kent side is currently the number 20 in the table with 19 points out of 17 games.
They won 5 games ( 4 away! ) drew 4 and lost 8. Positive goal difference of 2!
Earlier this season we lost away 1-2. ( goal Harris )
And we? Think the second half against Faversham was very disappointing for all the supporters visiting the Pilot Field last Tuesday.
The reasons? Maybe a few, maybe a lot but like always it is the management and the team who must give the answer. Somehow at home we seem to have problems to win the games ( we lost 4 at home! ). Think if you want to play a role in the top of the table you have to win your home games. Let's start again doing that on Saturday!
I think jack walder will be back today in place of Jerome Smith and Medlock for cunning - Bart and I know sam crab was struggling when he came off so if he's ok I think it will be same side but I really think they should give max hollibourne a game I think he should replace cunning-bart in midfield but we're see soon
I would like to see Temba have a start - or at least a decent run as an early substitute if things don't work out with the initial plan. I thought Jerome Smith did pretty well in the recent games he has played - though I think he was at fault with the penalty on Tuesday - and I wouldn't be in any rush to bring Jack Walder back in. But it is how we are set up; and, in particular, how well (if at all) we respond when things go wrong that really matters.
Much better from the guys today but my God, we need to work on our finishing. We pretty much dominated today from beginning to end and should have been at least 4 clear when Sam cleared off the line in the last five minutes. And after that we had arguably our three best chances with Tyrell missing a one on one and Billy and Jack both shooting when squaring to unmarked players would have certainly ended up in a goal. I thought Chatham were pretty poor throughout and Ollie Rowe did a fantastic job in keeping their lively skipper quiet, who tore us apart in the away fixture. Thought Tyrell deservedly won MOM, closely followed by Sam Cruttwell. Defensively we looked strong again and we appeared to hold possession much better today although the final ball was still poor at times. Only concern for me today was Sammy Adams who gave the ball away, way too much and he looks like he needs a break, and a deserved one at that.
So well done to the lads today and well done to Gary and Danny for getting the boys up after Tuesday's capitulation. Big concern now appears to be injuries and suspensions with Harris the latest casualty. Vickers apart, the bench is suddenly looking very average and very stretched and even though Gary wants to take the Sussex Senior seriously, I would be looking at resting players and concentrating on next Saturday's big FA Trophy game and the money that comes with it.

Agree with John on every point. One thing I can't understand is how the ref didn't give a penalty for the push on Billy after their guy wsa sent off. Most obvious foul of the day.
That's the first game I have been to since Poole and I have to say I thought we looked really good today. It actually reminded me of our early performances against Chipstead and Hythe when we seemed to be creating chances at will (and of course missing most of them.)
Clearly we should have won by five or six and the longer it went on the more you feared we'd pay for those squandered chances. However I won't dwell on the occasions where one well weighted or well timed pass would have set up a certain goal, or indeed the fact that our shooting at times threatened the residents of St Helens Down far more than it threatened the Chatham goal. Instead I'll focus on a pretty complete team performance and some excellent individual ones.
I thought Simon and Crutts (my MotM and not just because he scored the only goal...I hate it when adjudicators do that) showed real class in midfield today where for once we dominated possession and won most 50:50s. Tyrell and Billy were equally impressive both with tremendous work rate. At the back Razor and Ollie were pretty faultless and Jack was as good as I have seen him. I'd agree with John that Sammy was probably the only slight disappointment today but the poor guy seems to have inherited another new role, fetch and carry in front of the back four, and he just needs a bit of time to adjust to the fact that it's not OK to lose the ball in that role.
Anyway, I REALLY enjoyed that performance and there was certainly nothing 'lacklustre' going on on the pitch today !
A concern from the game was the lack of goals. After dominating the game we could easily have conceded from a corner late in the game. I think we do look a bit vulnerable at the back from corners and crosses and Chatham weren't the biggest side. Tyrell must be one of the quickest players in the league and with better control would be a top player.
But an important 3 points.
I agree with 85% of what John said I really don't understand why max hollibourne is not given a chance I think he's a great player he works his socks off coming on for 1 minute a game isn't going to show anything ge needs more game time I thought johnson was poor today unlike him but my mom was sam cruttwell by a clear mile he run the show but I think max needs a chance otherwise u don't think there stay around long just like I heard today from a current Hastings player that Alfie Hall has had enough and moved on which is a shame here's to tuesday

i thought it a very average perormance against another woeful team and one where in the end the visitors could have draw. we had more of ball and better chances and more of them but our decision making in final third is shocking. in last ten minute both Medlock and Tyrell could have square ball for other to tap in but selfish play meant we clung on for a point and lucky my man of match Sam Crutwell cleared of line. Though Johnson had another efficient game but thank in the end that the Chtahm keeper just stood and watched Crutwell free kick go straight in and we got 3 points.
That's a real shame if Alfie Hall has left. I have been pretty impressed with him this season and certainly better than Crabb. Not sure on Wilson as not seen enough of him yet but it was his mistake that led to the Chatham corner late on that nearly saw them equalise.
Sorry Arrows but can't agree on young Max. Funny enough, apart from Chatham away, Max has been really poor this season. He may work hard but his passing Is very poor. In fact even the one minute he was on today he had a two on one break and passed straight to the defender. I am sure he will come good given time but not good enough to get in the starting eleven at present.
