I'll be interested to hear how this one went.
Seems we always like to concede late goals to keep it interesting right to the end.
Never mind....a win is what matters and important to avoid a replay which I presume would have been this Tuesday.
Don't fancy that drive home but it will be made less painful by the result.
Well done boys !
The score definitely flattered Wroxham. It was the most comfortable 3-2 I've seen. The penalty was given for a shirt pull that nobody apart from the ref managed to see. The ref looked like Rigsby, and refereed the game like Rigsby!
I spoke to the referee in the boardroom after the game and confirmed that it was for Vickers pulled the players shirt rather aggressively.
I don't think anyone played poorly today, it's clear to see Billy makes a world of difference to our attack 3 in 4 games says it all. I think Tom once again put in a good performance in defence, I thought after his goal Cumming Bart done well, but was a bit lacking before that. Over all a good performance which as I eluded to on our way home flattered Wroxham. I don't think that they would of relished a long midweek journey if it had of gone to a replay.
Thoroughly deserved the win today - thought we played well in the second half, not too bad in the first but a lot better in the second period. Their first goal was a bit of a sucker-punch to us, not sure whether it was deliberate but a deflection took it in from the left hand side. Luck wasn't on our side in the first half though when the referee failed to referee the game independently when the linesman didn't flag for any obvious decisions. We had chance after chance in the first half, a string of headers that either hit the bar or went over, and a Medlock free kick smashed the bar.
Second half was much better - a superb goal from Cumming-Bart early in the second period, he swiveled and fired past the keeper. The second goal was also well worked - Cumming-Bart involved again with the assist to give Medlock a tap in and the third goal from the penalty spot.
Like Lenny said, 3-2 really flattered Wroxham, who were poor considering the score line. We moved the ball round really nicely at some points and Ollie Rowe's calmness and distribution was excellent and I think that lad can only get better and better and given the right service, so can Billy Medlock. I really hope that Harris and Medlock can strike up a deadly partnership in the front line, if that's going to be the regular front two.
Just a few dodgy camera phone pics from Wroxham, which I must say, was one of the friendliest grounds I have ever been to. I would also like to mention, and a big thank you to, Pat McCrossan, who was offering/buying drinks for us travelling supporters.
