Always good to keep up with players from past days at The Pilot Field. Flanners was a lumping ork in the Stains defence and, of course, an outstanding centre back for Hastings Town/Hastings United in his two seasons there - the ups and downs of 01-02 and 02-03. For those who don't know, he just recently took Brentwood Town up to the Ryman Premier via the North Division playoffs - Brentwood a club that somehow gets by on two digit gates so all the more credit to Flanners for seeing them up to the Premier.
And less than a week later he's beenj appointed manager of Concord Rangers - why bother with the Ryman Premier when you can go straight up into Conference South, eh?
I tweeted congratulations to him at the weekend after the play off win for Brentwood and this "social media" being what it is, Matt Dalton and Tommy Osbourne popped up in no time. I am sure he will be applauded by many United followers for what has been quite a week.
