After the loss against South Park with the immense Chris Smith we will now face another mountain to climb FavershamTown.png

Faversham are currently on place 2 in the table. Played 44 games, won 29, drew 7 and lost 8. Got 94 points and scored the highest amount goals so far in the league: 105 and conceded 49.

Top scorer in the team is centre midfielder (!) Wayne Wilson with 21 goals wayne-wilson.png ( picture from their website ) Also top scorers are Stuart King with 20 and Jack Harris with 17 goals.

The away game this season on 8-11-2014 was an incredible 1-5 victory for Hastings. From our scorers that day ( Farmer,A.Olorunda,Pogue and Hassan) no player is available for this game!

From the line -up that game only 4 players are available for Saturday's match ( Pelling, Cruttwell, Adams and Tim Olorunda )

And we ? After the loss against South Park we have to get points out of this game purely not to rely on other teams in this relegation battle we are in. Great gesture from the club to give free admission for this game for hopefully a big support for the U'ssssss.

Oh what would it be great to have such a big crowd again ( do you remember that game against Harrogate, do you remember the final result, do you remember the joy afterwards ?!! )

Hope Nigel Kane will prepare the team 100% for the last 2 games this season and hopefully we see them again back in Ryman South next season.

Come on you U' sssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss!

Let's hope we win Ramsgate lose, and then we are safe.

Yes Chris, for all practical purposes given the extent of our superior goal difference that will be so. Also if EG lose and we win; only a draw will be required a week Saturday, regardless of what Ramsgate do this week or next. Even those clubs currently on 48 points and Walton and Hersham (our last game) on 49 could be back in the mix if ourselves and Ramsgate win this Saturday while they lose.

So no pressure this Saturday!

So the game against W&H could still be potentially winner stays up and loser goes down?.... Blimey!

Monumental effort by the team today, and although there was a bit of butt clenching at the end, a thoroughly deserved win. First half in particular I thought we played some of our best football of the season and were unfortunate to go a goal down to a spectacular 35 yard free kick. But the guys never put their heads down and got a deserved equaliser from an equally spectacular free kick from Sammy Adams. Second half started much the same with Hastings on the front foot when we were perhaps fortunate to be awarded a penalty for hand ball. Sammy smashed it down the middle for a deserved lead but my god, were those the longest 20 minutes of my life. Sammy should have calmed the nerves when he was one on one with keeper but the rest of the game was played in our half. The back four were magnificent as was Brinkhurst and Logan but Sam was the hero of the day and Hastings got a well deserved victory against I have to say, a really average Faversham team. 47 points difference between the sides? just shows how poor we have been.

So a massive well done to the team today and the same to Nigel Kane. One more point next week and this wretched season can be buried once and for all. Great crowd, great atmosphere and just so happy for Dave O, the new messiah.

I have just looked at all other league tables at our level, and the worse case scenario has us with the 2nd best points per game record, but almost certainly the best. So even if the worst happens next week, we should be ok. Oh by the way well played today and well done to the back 5 who held firm. Onwards and upwards.

Great effort today.Fantastic attendance for a team in relegation trouble but does show the fan base we can achieve, even in our lowly position.Given that Faversham are in the play offs, their support was dreadful.Unfortunately will not be at last game but will be glued to twitter.Come on you U's

You certainly couldn't fault the commitment today and I think overall we just about deserved to nick the three points. We were certainly the better side for most of the first half and how Razor didn't score when he met that corner I simply don't know.
I agree that the penalty was 'generous' but maybe the decision to allow free entrance was rewarded when it seemed the entire main stand appealed for 'handball' .......and the ref duly obliged. Let's give the Chairman credit for getting the three points with that decision !! Shame Sam didn't complete his hat-trick with that guilt edged chance that would have calmed everyone's nerves.
East Grinstead's defeat was a real bonus today which leaves us needing just one point to be safe and we will be safe as long as we don't lose and E.G. win. Even in that scenario Ramsgate would need a point to overtake us....so things are in our favour now......I said I would be happy with such a position after the Herne bay game.
To end up in the bottom three now would be a total shock but we know we can't be complacent. E.G. and Ramsgate will give it everything next week and we need to put in the effort we put in today and ensure we come away with something to 'do it for ourselves'.
I guess the position is very similar to the one we found ourselves in at Leyton a few years back. Let's hope for exactly the same outcome....and then think about rebuilding for next season.

I don't usually take my camera to home games, but the sun was out. last home game and with free admission, I decided I would. So here are a few of the pictures I took. I am not an expert, nor do I have an expensive camera, so don't get too excited. These are really for the benefit of anyone who could not be there today.

what a day yesterday, printed almost double the usual amount of programmes and still sold out 20 mins before kick off! Great effort by the team all round and Sam kept his cool to deliver two excellent finishes. Big crowd and fantastic atmosphere at the end and afterwards.

A lot of positives from yesterday, on top of the obvious one of three vital points. Very good individual performances, a very fair and sportsmanlike display from both sides, and United playing as an effective team for the full 90 minutes. The atmosphere in the ground was excellent and everything fully justified the decision to grant free entry. What struck me particularly was the make up of the crowd - far more younger people, families, children and women. We really did look like a club for the whole community.

Good video, shows great commitment. Don't want to give Sammy any stick at all, but he really should've had a hatrick!
