From today's Observer. NK comments and what he probably meant.
"I still believe we have got quality players, we just haven't been clicking"
I still believe in Father Xmas, he just hasn't turned up for the past few years.
"If we get our strongest 11 on the pitch we will be alright"
I have no chance of getting my strongest 11 out this season due to stag doo's, lack of discipline and mysterious injuries just before kick off
"Those players plus the one I am trying to sign should make us stronger than the teams around us and most of the sides we have to play"
Forget Bankole, who I said would make a huge difference on the pitch last week and change our fortunes, ive now got my eye on someone from Crawley Down, he will make a huge difference and he will definitely change our fortunes. Sadly all the teams around us are still much stronger.
"The last two reverses have been very disappointing but everybody within the squad has got to remain upbeat and positive"
At least 12 of the 16 games I have been in charge off have been a disaster. No passion, no cohesion, no fight. The confidence is shot to bits and Razor is the only person that can put this right.
"We do need to bring in another forward and we hope to have one signed by Saturday"
We have needed another striker since the day I joined. Despite this I thought it would be a really good idea to release Kenny Pogue and Jordan Woodley and stretch our resources even further. I expect Pogue to sign on the dotted line on Friday.
"I have been trying to sign someone from a higher level but trying to attract players at this stage of the season, especially from a higher level, is not easy given our league position"
No one wants to come to Hastings, I wonder why? Perhaps if I had tried to fill these positions before our massive slump then perhaps I would not have had these same problems.
"Apart from this one signing there will be one more"
I am waiting on bloody Westfield to return my calls!
"I'm happy with what I've got provided I can get them all fit and available for selection"
I do not want a repeat of Carshalton when I had 9 out! No idea who the 9 were but they were definitely out!
"We will go to Tooting expecting to get something from the game"
I will wait until Saturday morning but we should be going to Tooting with 11 players
"On paper they are a stronger side than us and they are good at home"
On paper they are stronger than us, oops, no, sorry, I said in an earlier statement didn't I, with this one signing and everyone available we are stronger than most around us, why did I say that? they have only won 4 more games than us.
"They are good at home, I must admit"
They have only won 2 of their last 10 home games so they are struggling and I expect a win.
All a bit of fun I know, but I am looking forward to Saturday, Tooting a favourite ground of mine, and I expect a win. With Adams, Logan and Mclean back we should have just about our strongest midfield of the season. My team would be
Well he is our best outfield player isnt he? Should have read Brinkhurst. With the proper leadership there is absolutely no reason why that team should not keep us up, comfortably!!!
Yeah on paper its a good lineup etc but hope to god we actually get this new striker and he is of sufficient calibre to help for the last few games, dont care if he's the biggest overpaid mercenary on the planet if he can score a few goals.
This club is truly extraordinary, I am lost for words. We appear to make a great signing at last after months and months of mediocrity and he lasts one game. Peacehaven have no money and have cut their budget so why has he gone? if he was offered more surely we could have matched it until the end of the season. Was he really injured last week? How much influence did the manager have on this? As per normal we will hear nothing from the club and we will all make up our own minds i'm sure but his club is just spiralling into the pits of despair. I really am lost for words, which i'm sure a lot of people will be very happy with.
Jack McLean signs from Ryman Division One South side Hastings United, Dan Bolwell, Jordan Stubbings and Seb Saunders sign dual forms from Sussex County League Division One outfit Ringmer, Callum Sheriff joins from Horsham and there is a return to Haven for Bryan O'Toole.
McLean is an attacking midfielder, winger or striker, who only joined Hastings from Sussex County League Division One side Ringmer earlier this month.
Dont panic Mr Mannering....this is just to free up funds to go towards the new striker which will be announced within the next 24 hours.....all getting abit tense....just wonder who it might be? Bradley Goldberg on loan?
You cannot be serious? you do come out with these strange comments now and again. You think the club have let him go to free up funds? and Bradley Goldberg is starting and scoring goals for the team top of the Vanarama South after a spell at Bristol Rovers, we have more chance of signing Bradley Walsh. What a waste of effort typing that rubbish and waste of effort from me in even replying to such nonsense. God I'm fed up today!!

I can only imagine Hastingsbuoys comment was sarcastic!! Mclean was the one bright spark of recent ( even that was based on just one game which shows how desperate we have become ) although its a higher level surely we could have held on to him at least till the end of the season!
Even if we sign a really good forward the loss of McLean will still hurt, an effective and exciting LW was what we needed about now and it's been snatched away after 2 games, wish we'd never signed him this season in hindsight.
I dont think he knows what he says just uses sayings that you expect from managers. he says the squad we have with the player he try to sign make us stronger than team around us and ones we got to play and then he says tooting are a stronger side than us. so frustrated like john that we have manager that does not get it, he should have walked weeks ago but i hope so much that the players just do it for us supporters and for there pride and stay up inspite of the manager please please please
