Although Hastingsbuoy opened already a topic i think he won't mind if I open another one and that is the game against
Horsham is currently the nr. last in the table with 39 games played and they got 30 points. Won 8, drew 6 and lost 25. Scored 42 and conceded 88 goals.
From the last 8 matches they got only 1 point.
On jan. the 7th we won the away game 1-2; Adams scored the 0-1, Nwachukwu levelled and Archibald scored the winner in the 92th minute.
Tom Vickers, Tom Gilbert and Bailo Camara are familiar old Hasting faces in their squad. The Hornets have not scored for 4,5 hours now.
And we? Where shall I start ? After the very disappointing display against Carshalton we will have some miracle plan not alone to get 3 points but keep us away from the bottom 3. We scored only 6 goals in our last 8 matches and when we go behind then there is so much extra pressure. Now that seems that Archibald has left the club we don't have many options upfront. Management and players must be 100% aware of the current situation.
Hopefully a lot of Hastings supporters will come to watch the game and although it is not always easy the team needs us now more then ever.Hope to shake hands again with some of you.
Come on your U'sssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss
Cobbled this together in a hope to get a few more people through the gate. Can't really imagine why they'd want to at the moment but I guess it's worth a shot!
I think Joseph Knight is going to do something around town Lenny, I've just spoken to him on Facebook. Chris, haha, I take great pride in co-producing the programme, certainly not giving it up yet, haven't even thought about it! Obviously down because the football is poo, although if I were you I'd be watching Eastbourne Town, but I admire your committment during this poo patch!!
Surely this is something that should happen week in week out to promote the club to encourgage more support and not just when we are on a cup run or on the point of oblivion. As an example you just need to go to Lewes town centre and look as well as in all the pubs.
It's going to be so good when our club is run like a football club again and not a private business.
Well Bert, I've certainly been hesitant to say anything. I felt confident a few games ago that we would get the three wins we probably required to stay up. Not only we have not got those but we had (by all accounts) another meltdown game at Carshalton. The thing which disturbs me is that the number of clubs in the relegation battle is decreasing by the day - Carshalton, for example are now practically safe. Had we beaten them that would certainly not have been so.
I had hoped that we would have clear water between ourselves and the bottom three clubs before we entered our last three (difficult, to my mind) fixtures. If we lose on Saturday that will almost certainly not be so and we will have given Horsham a huge boost in the process.
Well, I'm sure I'm seen as vastly over optimistic; but I don't now think matters will actually be settled until the last kick of this awful season. To put matters into some sort of context, I'm sure many Lewes supporters thought two years ago when we beat them at home that they would be going down and we would stay up. Of course, the reverse happened. They revived (somewhat), we collapsed, and matters for us have continued to disappoint ever since.
That said, should we lose on Saturday we must be odds on to go down and NK's position will indeed be precarious. Yes, I supported his appointment and I don't call for him to go now. I would still argue that a change is more likely to hinder than help. But, plainly, that argument is wearing very thin.
Clearly a win is absolutely vital and anything else against the bottom team who are in worse form than us will be seen as a failure.......but I agree with Geoff.........this season is going right to the wire and I think we may end up needing a result at Walton and Hersham on the last day of the season to survive. (Remember that big turnout of Hastings support at Leyton a few years ago ? That could still be the outcome to this God awful season !)
On the subject of Walton and Hersham, they are seventh from bottom and they play FOUR games against teams currently below them in their last FIVE matches.
You forgot Logan Dan! We were told he would be back in 10 days.....2 months ago. Not sure what other options we have. Have to say that midfield looks the big issue and desperately lightweight with an out of sorts Timmy in there, need him to really step up to the plate and Tom Vickers, if playing, must be licking his lips looking at that line up.
And wouldn't it just be typical Hastings if a certain Jamahl King scored the goal that sent us down? Still say that him and Ronnie Dolan leaving was the start of the end.
Whichever way you look at it, our position is scandalous. Here we are, desperate for a win against statistically, the worst team in the Division. Make no mistake, our opponents will be well up for it....have we got the b****cks to fight??? We have shown nothing in the last few weeks, absolutely nothing. This really is the last chance saloon. I hope our players are ready. I hope they've trained hard, worked on shape, looked at our opponents...I trust we've all trained together as a unit, and not been messing around practising short passing and fast feet on an indoor futsal pitch.
I think that your comment of showing absolutely nothing in recent weeks is a bit harsh Overthehill. Those of us who saw them in Guernsey saw a much improved performance in which a draw would of been a fair result, Sittingbournes game wasn't as convincing a performance but it was a marked improvement from Corinthian casuals. I wasn't at Saturday's game but the evidence is clear that we were poor. I agree with most that Saturday's game is crucial to our survival and I know it's not going to be an easy game far from it. It will be one that Horsham will quite rightly feel they can win and with the ex players factored into it makes it an even more tough hurdle.
The squad are training on the pitch tonight, unfortunately due to feeling unwell I've not gone along to help out with my normal duties but one thing is for sure the players should without doubt need little motivation for this game they should be right up for the challenge just like I witnessed in Guernsey.
Football is a game that is renowned for throwing the form book out of the window, who thought Burnley would of beaten Man City last weekend or Bradford would dump Chelsea out of the cup? I'm as nervous as hell over Saturday's game as I'm sure everyone else is.
I'm sure that you, I and everyone else associated with the club are annoyed of the state we're in at the moment. It's a season we need to try and maintain our league status and put behind us. I certainly am as concerned as all of us.
I don't doubt that all of us - whatever our differences on strategic matters - will be absolutely behind the team on Saturday and will give maximum positive vocal encouragement. Supporters can make a difference!
So Ade is highly unlikely to play and Sam Adams is apparently unavailable. Looks like it could be me and Pat up front on Saturday. Where the hell are the goals coming from ????

If neither of them play then yep that's a huge blow, leaves us with just McLean, Maclean & Rabiu as goals scoring threats and none of them have been here long enough to score yet either! Also looks like none are out and out forwards really either. Hope to god there's a surprise signing in the squad later!!

I'm ready if needed John! Boots - check! Oxygen Cylinder - check! Lambert and Butler - check! desire to win - check!

Never been so angry and ashamed in my entire life, I am lost for words. As soon as I turned up for the game there were two Hastings players warming up whilst the entire Horsham team were out there together. At half time the Hastings players came out in dribs and drabs whilst the Horsham team came out as a team with the manager and started warming up. They won every 50/50, quicker to the ball, more fight and desire for the manager. There was no fight all match, not one shot at goal and nothing from the bench. I couldn't give a toss anymore whether Kane stays or goes. He is hopeless and has destroyed this club with a little bit of help from elsewhere. Why did he get this job, why is he still here? He must walk today. He has no leadership qualities, no respect from the players and his signings are utterly hopeless. What did we say about Matt McClean? what improvements has he made since he was last here? Tyrell is like a headless chicken, poor young Foster looked like a rabbit in the headlights, Luke Turner is hopeless, and where is this massive signing he talked about in the paper which will change our fortune? where is he? the bloke is a joke and must go today and Razor must be put in charge immediately. I am in total shock as to what I have witnessed.
Bet your panicking now, Nige. Hopeless. Well done DW on another great appointment. Disgraceful result. Shambles. Now put your hands up if you want something better. Probably a low point in our long history. I defy any do-gooder to come on here and say we were unlucky, based on johnw's report. Hopefully, a few more will finally see the light. JohnW said we'd be bottom by April. He's likely to be proved right.
Just as I expected. No fight, no quality, and McCreadie being a **** footballer who only plays to wind others up.
As soon as I saw the line up, I thought it was the weakest team I've seen all season. Has a team ever used as many players as we have in 1 season?! The most important game in our history, Sam Adams missing, where was Jack McClean, and where has Tom O'Connor disappeared to, even Woodley? To be 7 games from the end of the season and have to put a weak team out like that is disgusting. I'm guessing Ade will have a 4 match ban (2nd violent conduct sending off, but might be wrong). Why young Sam didn't come on at left wing was a mystery.
As John W said, I just feel ashamed with what we've all just seen.
I am equally astounded by the lack of reaction on here tonight. Perhaps myself, Popeye and Winchy were watching a different game. There again I did see nearly half the crowd leave 15mins before the end, something I have never seen at the Pilot Field in nearly 30 years of supporting. Has everyone finally given up on our club?
I am a bit numb as it goes. I think everyone knows that the management (not just Kane) are simply not good enough. Nice fellas I am sure but not good enough. The club needs a massive re-build, we can't just blame the players and management but we have to look at the whole structure and running of the club. Even IF we stay up something needs to happen to avoid another season miserable season like this.
Anybody with a smattering of footballing knowledge saw this coming a while ago, only to be shot down by the "it'll be alright on the night brigade". I wouldn't be surprised if Mr Kane is sacked tonight and Razor is given the task of keeping us up. I think Razor (top bloke by the way) is the only man left who might just do it. Just another disastrous day under the careful eye of a failed regime. This abysmal attempt at running a successful football team has to end NOW. Even paying customers are giving up. Is that alone not sending some sort of message to the people who carry the ultimate responsibility for our disgraceful position???
We know what / who the problem is and until he goes we will get worse, for those of you who think we are at a low, if DW stays it will get worse next season mid table county league. Walters give us our club back.
The starting eleven today would be lingering in the lower half of the County League. Horsham looked considerably the better side. Why do players not want to play for Hastings? Where was Sam? Was Jack McClean ill? Many East Sussex league sides would have a more committed squad of players. Our team makes a laughing stock of the term semi-professional.
Since we beat Ramsgate we have achieved 3 points out of a possible 27 - not great form and never been addressed. Even if Razor does take over isn't it the same old thing and would he really want to do it, I presume he would still play so who would be in the dugout?? Shambles, complete shambles!
Sam was on a stag do and is allegedly off on another before the season is out. McClean was supposedly injured and pulled out at the last moment. Obviously knew what was coming. Anyone know why Logan was on the bench and not brought on? And what happened to new signing, Rabiu? Wasn't today the day to play 2 strikers? Never mind, hear Kane is partying at the Pilot Field this evening for young Kyle's 18th....no shame.

Got to agree with what has already been said. Disappointing to see Horsham boss the speed of the game from the first minute and have the feeling we could still be there now waiting for us to score. The only thing on our side is that there are five teams that are struggling which means two will get a reprieve. Of those bottom five there are only two matches left where two teams play each other (6/4 Ramsgate v Hastings and 18/4 Horsham v Ramsgate).
What is important is that if we do survive we remember and learn so that we are not in this position again.
Being relatively new to supporting the club I do not know a lot of the people spoken about on this forum.
What i would say is that get someone to run the side that the players will run through walls for. Allow them to train whenever and wherever they like and (based on the other 4 clubs remaining fixtures) I would of thought 41 points would be enough.
As a matter of interest does anyone know what sort of income the club gets at home games? Second best attendance in the division today (behind Burgess Hill) and the queues to the bar and food hut suggest that supporters spend at games. I don't think the club can say the fans are not supporting them financially.
Can't remember ever feeling so low coming out of a game. Desperately depressing times. Think our only hope is if we get a reprieve which is scandalous. Can't see where our next goal is coming from, let alone our next point.
John, I was in no mood to write when I got home having witnessed what was on offer today. As Winchy has said, the quality of the team we put on the pitch today was quite appalling. Without any question 3 or 4 of the those players wouldn't have made the Sunday team I played in back in the 80s. That is no exaggeration.....we might as well have played with 9 men as have Foster and Turner on the pitch. Sorry to single players out but is this REALLY the best we can get on the pitch ? While I hate to criticise Sam who has been our outstanding player all season, did he really HAVE to go on that Stag weekend given the importance of this game ? If one of our most committed players takes this approach it's no wonder we don't get a lot out of the others who quite frankly have zero loyalty to the Club. You rightly pointed out, John, that Horsham acted like a team should at this level in terms of their approach and organisation....I can only compare us to the last office team I played in in my mid forties !
So...let's find some positives ! Well, other than Horsham winning, only Redhill got a point and our position hasn't significantly worsened. If everything goes our way we can still stay up without getting another point. However that ain't gonna happen is it and I guess there are plenty of others thinking that if we continue putting out sides of the quality we saw today we are definitely doomed. Many may think that the only question now is will we finish bottom ...and I'd like to claim to be the first to speculate on that possibility after the Worthing game in mid January ! (However I'm still a long way from claiming the award for the most pessimistic supporter !)
Realistically we are far from doomed yet but, somehow, we have to get our best players on the pitch for the remaining six games to give ourselves any hope. **** knows who our best players actually are now ! Certainly not me and nor I guess does the Manager. I've now seen so many players make one or two totally ineffective performances that I'm losing track of who can actually kick a ball and who can't.
In case you hadn't guessed, I am seriously p****d off tonight.
does anybody really have an ounce of positivity left after today? We could not muster one single shot to even remotely trouble their keeper. That alone is absolutely disgraceful against the team at the bottom of the table, which in my view is where we deserve to be and will probably end up.We look totally out of our depth in this league and deserve to go down on this showing.I just could not believe the lack of ability and motivation from our players,it was a total embarassment. If you can't get motivated in our current plight you might as well give up playing football. The support today was very good, more than the team deserved. At least we are trying to do our bit, just need the rest to follow
A couple of us have picked out young Foster but I really feel for him and Kane has to be held accountable for possibly doing some irreversible damage to some of these young lads careers. I remember commenting after Holden's spectacular debut and hoping the manager would look after him and hold him back, but what did he do? The complete opposite and young Kyle has gradually become less and less effective over the last few weeks. The same could be said for Hanifan as well.
I have seen a number of managers do their best to destroy a promising career in Sam Crutwell, although the lad will definitely come good, by continuously playing him out of position and now NK is doing the same to a promising group of youngsters. These guys should never have been thrown into this relegation battle and I worry if this will leave a long lasting scar on their promising careers. I honestly cannot think of one thing the manager has got right from team selections, players playing out of position, substitutions, signings, leadership, his ridiculous statements to the media......should I go on?
I haven't read all the posts on here tonight but I usually remain impartial. But tonight, well done Horsham! What a diabolical performance from us. Everything was wrong. The shape, effort, team, you name it, it was wrong. When their second goal went in, I couldn't watch anymore and went to sit in the bar. Most embarrassing performance I have ever seen. Proper county league football! I've been going nearly 9 years and that was hands down: the worst, most embarrassing, least effort, most **** performance over ever seen. Ever. Nothing was good about it.
Ade being sent off for an elbow (I didn't see it as was sulking in the bar) was totally the right decision if he did. Why would you do that? It's a relegation scrap for goodness sake, pull yourself together!!!! Totally unacceptable performance and the worst I've ever seen.
I hate to jump in the 'Kane out' brigade but now I am there. Kane out. No contacts, no nothing. Absolute embarrassment.
Two goals that are just ridiculous to concede. I'm now drinking my sorrows away with Willett in the pub. Thank goodness something is going right with alcohol. Thank goodness for that. Next week at Tooting won't be any better. What an embarrassment.
Liam- that wasn't proper County League football from Hastings. The Rye and Tunbridge Wells teams of recent seasons played much better football. On another point, if Dave Walters has slashed the playing budget shouldn't he do the same for the admission costs. Under 18's bottom of the table, U21's bottom of the table, First Team heading that way rapidily. What a shambles.

The old rye team of a few seasons ago would have made mince meat of the team today....at least they would have gone down with a fight ...screaming n kicking n proud to wear the shirt...struggling to find any positives tonight...just cant believe we lost to such a poor team bottom of the league!!
I'm starting to think what the supporters team could do against them. Not a lot of talent but Christ do we have some heart and effort in the team. Take Razor and Josh out the team and they have no better when it comes to playing for the badge.
Steady on john, don't forget that the supporters teams central midfields combined age is fast approaching 90. Can't disagree with much of the anguish that's on here tonight. Feared the worst when I saw the line-ups, our starting 11 was wrong. Any positives? Thought caley looked alright now he's finally turned up, nothing else springs to mind, can things get any worse?
Well I'm afraid to say that todays performance has really done it for me for now.I just cannot watch them anymore until at least there is a change of manager or even better walters goes himself. Why is it that some weeks they play with some effort and passion like against guernsey and you just start to think thats a turning point then the next week they are back to playing like crap again? Why are so many players missing matches for unecessary reasons like sammy when surely our league position says it all. Was jack mclean injured then? I notice how grateful Razor always is for the support at matches as he took the time again today to show his appreciation. Definitely a top guy who never lets the side down. Just wish the others could be more like him. Wonder what typical comments we will have from kane again? Keep hoping by some miracle he may be gone by tomorrow
I think Nigel will resign to be honest. He and Mark can go back to their previous roles which fortunately for them have never been filled (or were these roles just to keep them involved in the first place?).
"Some questions though. Who is going to step up to Football Development Manager and Assistant or were these roles purely made to keep Nigel and Mark at the club to give them something to do?"
The heart has been ripped out of the players manager lost heart why.? Horsham supporters support. we just moan and trash team up.!!!
Please tell me I am reading this wrong, are you seriously blaming the supporters Doeboy? was you there today, do you not hear the noise they were making even when we went 1 down? I trust this is a wind up ! because if not, you better go to spec-savers
Oh your not reading it wrong pepper would you give blood sweat and guts if you where a player and reading some of the abuse on hear. the hell you would!!!
Doeboy find your comment hardyou need to earn respect an players and manager can not get that with how we play right now. yesterday was worse team performance i ever see at a home game. lenny said they train on pitch on thursday so what they do? there was no shape, no plan we can not pass corners and free kick most the time wasted. do youthink as suporter we should say well done pat on back for that? seriously? what do you expect? in programme Kane goes on how bad Horsham are how many goals they let in away game and we then get well beaten and dont even make there keeper get shirt dirty. i expect it after game few week ago that kane get sacked or walk and if that dont happen today then as well as not going to away game wont go to last 2 home either. he say he has a healthy budget and that is what is being serve up for us loyal fans to watch. he is clueless players absent, saw tim walk in ground as i did at 2.30 where is comitment to the fight to stay up. they all want there money but they do not earn it they are a laughing stock and blame who you want manager for createing this situation or people on panel for giving kane the job. but it must change and today, know no time to get new manager but sure razor will do it for last few games and that better as think he will be up for it
Clearly a wind up from Doeboy or some one associated with a player at the club. Firstly, if you were not there yesterday and did not witness what went on then don't comment. And secondly get your facts right! If you had read the Horsham forum over the past few weeks they have also been handing out the stick to the players as they did to former manager Gary Charman before he left. You are clearly the only person on this forum who has these views so supporters are not likely to take your comments seriously.
And by the way, as always, what a thoroughly good bunch the Horsham supporters were. Had a good chat with their camera man who firstly said he could not quite believe how abysmal we were. Horsham then took the lead for the first time in what seems like years and he got nose bleed, that's how excited he was.! Really hope they stay up along with us but sadly can't see either achieving that although they appear to have the slightly better chance.
I also find doeboy's comments baffling. We lost 2-0 at home to the bottom team, without registering a shot on target? Is that 2 wins in 16? All three of the club's teams are at the wrong end of the table. We don't seem to be able to put 11 players on the pitch who are worth a shirt, and the performances are woeful. What does doeboy - expect...cartwheels, parties, back-slapping??? Where are all the players we need? Preferring to be elsewhere. I assume the player who arrived late will be fined? The whole thing is shambolic. I said weeks ago that 99% of the players lack the b******s for a relegation scrap and I take no pleasure in saying I told you so. I know things are different now, but in my playing days at the PF, every time I put a shirt on it meant something, it mattered - it mattered to me, my friends and family, and most of all, I felt responsible to those who had paid to watch. That responsibility fell upon players, managers, staff, owners, Board. We didn't always do well but we always tried our best. It meant something. You didn't let other teams stroll in and take points off you without a real fight.
That was then, this is now. The only people who have the stomach for a fight are the supporters (who doeboy criticises) and a couple of the players who out of the same mindset as Razor. We have a management team that is clearly incapable of influencing anything, and can't even coach a team for a 0-0. Good point, Peter, what did we do on Thursday?? Shambolic.
It is time to rip up the script and start again. If Mr Walters really does love the club, and is hurting, then it is within his power to step aside and let somebody else have a go. There is no disgrace in that at all. It is a realisation that he has done everything he can and fair play to him for trying. We need a massive uplift in every single area of the club, with total support of the loyal fans, and an end to the divisions that are becoming ever wider with every new debacle. I cannot see that happening but until it does, we are heading for football oblivion.
My hometown club, for whom I wore a shirt with immense pride, is falling apart...and all doeboy can say is it's the supporters fault. Extraordinary.
A football club has highs and lows, and being a supporter at the Pilot Field for over 40 years, I can not remember the club being this low.
I also can not remember seeing supporters leave during a game like I did yesterday. But I can understand why.
Yesterday the football served up to us fans was that bad that I didn't know whether to laugh or cry.
If we are relegated at the end of the season, I think my Saturday afternoons watching my local team will come to an end. Very sad.
I'm not going talk about the football ,,, it's all been said ,, but I can't let this criticism of the fans go . Every fan has a right to their say but when you have fans who travel to away games and home game every week regardless they have every right to moan as much as they like . But we have at least one fan that I know of who travels from Crawley every other week to watch us at home .let alone away games ! He hasn't seen us win at home for over year . He was unfortunate to miss our 3 home wins ( yes just 3) this season . So why shouldn't he vent his anger ? But yesterday even that was topped by Bert ,who left home in Holland at 5am yesterday to drive to the game !!!! To watch that !! It was great to see him but as a fellow fan I felt guilty for encouraging him to come over . But he arrives and then joins us for non stop singing along with the other 30 or so fans that felt the desire to try to give more than just an admission fee !! He should be refunded his expenses by the club ,,, ! I am as ashamed as anyone to see this club where it is now ,,,,but please don't blame the fans !!!!! Only two players , Razor being one , bothered to come up to the fans at final whistle ,to show their appreciation for the support ... That frankly is disgusting !!!
Windy, that indifference towards supporters is all part of the ethos and attitude which is prevalent within the club. I was at a Conference game last week and the away support was 28 - yes, 28. Their team didn't play that well and lost. But every player, the manager and coaching staff went over to them afterwards and acknowledged their support and stayed with them for a couple of minutes. That was class - something we lack in abundance. We are a very bad joke.
come on walters admit you made a mistake and sack kane who has lost the dressing room .where are all his signings some we have never seen . get a manager who dose not no theplayers before its to late and with some contacts . all kane is doing is signing players of other teams benches
Well said Windy. We are one of the biggest supported Club (if not supported, we get one of the biggest gates) in this league and every single person, has the right to say what they think. They pay their tenner to get in. The players, Kane and Walters should expect the anger and praise they get from the fans, because surely that's what they should expect when they take on such a role with any sporting Club or association.
I've been going to the Club for nearly nine years and over the last three of four, I've got to know a lot of people up there. Yesterday was the first time I've actually boo'd the team off and stopped watching the game with time remaining. Some would say that as a member of staff, I should be supporting the team and showing a good example. Maybe you're right, but still, each fan has the same right to vent their anger and disappointment.
If anyone hasn't seen the match report on the Club website, it's well worth a read.
Apt that it was Bailo who delivered the Coup De Grace yesterday...
We offered so little real threat it was upsetting to watch, not fair to attach any blame to Liam Foster but he understandably just doesn't look ready to be fast tracked into the team and agree with John that Kyle needs better managing and a rest.
The horsham fans I spoke to literally couldnt believe how poor we were ( and they know about poor football recently )
At one stage in the first half results elsewhere meant we dropped into the relegation zone, somehow by the end we'd risen again due to other sides essentially just bring worse than we were but it does feel inevitable that we will almost certainly end up in the bottom three as our form
And confidence is just so poor.
If I was Nigel I think I'd be walking away right now I'll be honest. Things just look like going from very bad to worse and although a change at this stage would be a gamble I think it's one that may just have to happen to change the narrative.
I too am quite a noob, having first appeared at the PF in February 2014, when I saw a bright attacking well-organised side win 2-1. Yesterday was a shambles, quite possibly the worst game I've ever seen over a lot of years watching football at all levels at quite a few different grounds.
Horsham, bottom of the league and clearly not very good, beat a Hastings team that hardly put a pass together let alone a shot.
I'll still keep coming next year whether in the Ryman or what we must learn to call the Macron Store Southern Combination Football League, 'cos I like it here, but we cannot go on like this.

I have to say that I am absolutely stunned and baffled as to why there has not been an announcement from the club that NK has either resigned or been sacked. If he was going on his own accord or the club were sacking him surely it would have happened straight after the game. This makes me think he has no intention of walking and Walters has no intention of sacking him. If so we are as good as down, but what I don't understand is on this occasion DW can sack a manager for the first time ever and have the support of just about every Hastings supporter, so what is he waiting for? If we go down to county league does that then make the club less interesting for any possible buyers? Surely he wouldn't want us to go down would he? Kane has to go now!!!
Its easy to say sack Kane and I would say that too. However, this club has now got such a bad reputation because of the chairman and his antics, there is no sane person that will work for or with him. Blaming Nigel is too easy, you need to look at the picture including those who continue to support DW, because its you that are allowing him to destroy this football club. All you volunteers look in the mirror and say am I doing the best thing for Hastings United by supporting this man. If the answer is no stop volunteering now and let him struggle on.
Can anyone confirm that someone at Dorking Football club are mad enough to pay Evan Archibald £300 a week to play for them. Absolutely unbelievable if true considering his almost total lack of impact for us. What was noticeable from yesterday's game was the level of enthusiasm and effort from substitute Matt Caley. He really stood out as actually wanting to be out there on the pitch. Interesting to read the article on Burgess Hill in thr non- league paper. A well run club with an established long term manager and sensible chairman.
I think I've read it all now. The volunteers are to blame ? Unbelievable that you can make such a dispiriting remark. I do not help out to keep DW in his role as Chairman and neither do the others . Are you then saying that we all pack in? We wouldn't be able to stage another game without the volunteers . No pitch prep - no stewards - no PA and no safety officer would mean that we would be unable to fulfil our final home fixtures and then we really would be down without a chance at all. Please leave the volunteers out of this.
Come on Chris, you can't be serious on that one. You want the guys on the gate, the stewards, the bar staff, the guys in the club shop and food bar, the guys selling programmes and golden goals all to walk away and let Dave do it himself? that's ridiculous. As Pat says, we would then be unable to fulfil our fixtures and be down anyway. If your wish comes true and DW does leave, these same volunteers will be vital for any new owners of the club. I have the utmost respect for all the guys who do all of this work free of charge and asking them to walk away is just never going to happen and is a ludicrous idea.
I have kept out of this so far because I do not want to be dragged into a slanging match, I will not come on here and slag any individuals off who are involved with the club whether it be The Chairman, the players volunteers etc. I have my beliefs in what I think and I will not discuss them on here and in my opinion it is not professional to do so. You and Popeye have in almost all of your posts for around 3 weeks now said nothing but this is the chairmans fault and that's the chairmans fault, the chairman needs to go it won't change until he goes and even almost pleading with volunteers to stop working for him blah blah blah!!!! You are both like a scratched record. Pat is correct, if the volunteers walked out on mass there would be no way we could fulfil fixtures, there would be nobody to open the gates let alone let anyone in. Any matchday there is around 20-25 matchday staff. Regardless of what you believe people do not just do the jobs they do, give up the time they do for The Chairman we actually do it for the football club and so that the hundreds of supporters who support the club can watch a game of football. You calling for the volunteers to quit on here is quite ridiculous when in reality about 4 or 5 actively come on here, the others don't bother because of the constant negative comments. I understand yours and everyone else's frustration at this season turning out the way it has, no one saw this coming and I can tell you now that everyone involved with the club is any less frustrated than the supporters.
Please if you can't post anything constructive other than what you have posted endlessly in the last few weeks than don't bother? It really is boring now.
The worst thing that we could do would be to let down our friends and colleagues who also volunteer, if you think we do the jobs we do primarily out of a desire to keep an individual in charge then that's naive and incorrect.
It genuinely doesn't really matter to me in a way who's in charge in terms of doing the work, We help out in whatever for the CLUB and also to help friends who do the same vital jobs for the club and it's done to try give the paying fans the best possible experience on match days.
To say that we're knowingly and willingly responsible allowing the club to be destroyed is frankly hugely insulting.
It's no secret that you would snap someone's hand off if relegation meant Dave left as short term pain for long term gain but making the volunteers feel guilty for doing their job is deeply unfair to say the least.
The vast majority of supporters I'm sure appreciate the time and efforts the volunteers put in to enable us to support our club. I'm sure they volunteer because they support the club regardless of who the chairman is now or in the future.
Wait a minute, just hang on there. What an absolute b******t comment Chris. This is going to new levels even for yourself. Without the volunteers at this Club, the Club wouldn't be the Club it is today. The volunteers make the whole Club possible. Blaming the Chairman and/or Kane is easy enough, but to blame the hard working volunteers is a whole different level.
Personally, regardless of what I think of Dave Walters and what he should do with the Club, I do my work for the Club in general, even though, I actually do like Dave Walters - I think he's a great chap. Personally I thrive from the praise and good feedback I get from doing my job and we certainly don't need comments from people who make the effort to drive 18 odd miles just to moan about everything and cause havvock about people that volunteer. It's a spineless, unnecessary comment to make.
You're now going to reply asking if I'm serious, and probably tell me I'm naive. Go ahead. But there are a damn lot of people who come to the Club with the same views as you but who actually respect what the volunteers do for the Club. That is new lows for even you. Disgusting comment.
Chrisb if u don't have volunteers u wont have a club at all go and pick on someone else as people like u make my blood boil y the hell bring the volunteers in to it just shows u slag everyone off man up ffs and stop picking on nice people that help out the club they support Hastings some have been there for years u should respect them for what they do iv even helped out as a volunteer so come on have a pop at me

About the game: was so good to see so many familiar faces and like always a very warm welcome!
The games was obviously between two bottom clubs who were very nervous. What struck me was indeed what John already mentioned the warming up. I said to Windy how is it possible that the Horsham players were on the pitch for almost 15 minutes before our players showed up ( and not all, a few came minutes later ) That is purely a management task to tell them to go TOGETHER on the pitch and do the warming up. About the line-up : you can see that Holden is a very decent player but starting the game with 2 youngsters in this BATTLE is a wrong choice. About the tactics: We never build up and Josh always played the long ball; there is nothing wrong with that but then you need a striker that can keeps the ball or pass it to upcoming midfielders. Never saw that happening because we had in all honestly not a clear chance of making a goal. Horsham was fully motivated and we weren't. That is of course not only a management task but also something what has to come from the players and so to seen we have not enough of them now...... and after the game : only 2 players gave the supporters who stand behind the team credits for their support. and that is also a management task ! What i saw was a team who wasn't up for the task and that is not acceptable. For all those long time supporters and all those volunteers.
