Does anyone know if Horsham will be allowed in the newly named league if they are relegated? The rules of the County League at moment do not permit ground-sharing.
Phew...good to know....when The Main Stand falls down, we can go and share with......er.. (only joking, but who would be our ideal ground share?). I'm a bit confused as to whether we need a wide or not so wide pitch, and we'd have to have the dugouts the right way round, left or right (and preferably pointing towards the pitch so the coaching staff can do their jobs properly). Somewhere picturesque and aesthetically pleasing perhaps? Mind you, we would probably be carefully vetted, as any host would want a decent team. And any supporters who shouted nasty things at players and upset them, sensitive souls that they are, would be most unwelcome.
So strictly speaking, those who said we would not end up in the Sussex county League at the end of the season were correct all along, although not a lot of comfort can be derived from this
Talking to a Tunbridge Wells player yesterday about how difficult it was to get promoted out of the Southern Counties League. I would say Tunbridge Wells are about the same standard as us this season and have been a bit stronger in previous seasons. They always find there are one or two sides who have plenty of money to spend on player wages and attract strong groups of players. This season there are 3 or 4 really strong sides in their league and Tunbridge Wells are effectively left with nothing to play for once they are eliminated from the Vase. This could easily happen to us if we get relegated so let's hope we get the necessary number of points. It really is extraordinary how a team provided with one of the highest playing budgets in the league finds itself struggling near the bottom of the table towards the end of the season.
not all the right signings I would think, how many would you say have made a real inpact, the saying you can take a horse to water but you cant make it drink yea.
