After the draw against Three Bridges we will now face the number 4 in the table FolkestoneInvicta.JPG

They played 32 games, got 64 points. Won 19, drew 7 and lost 6 ( with a remarkable loss last Saturday against Carshalton with 5-3 ! )

Scored 71 goals and conceded 39.

The home game we lost on Sept. 29 with 0-2 . Draycott scored both goals and his total this season is already 21.

Folkestone plays at :The Fullicks Stadium

Address: Cheriton Road, Folkestone, CT19 5JU

Stadium_View_from_Fullicks_Terrace.jpg

And we ? The gap between the teams in the relegation battle is only a few points so if we can pick up some points anywhere it would be nice. With youngsters Hanifan, Holden and Hause we have not the experience but maybe the unexpected ! Hope a lot of supporters will make the journey and give the team all their 100% support !

Come on your U'ssssssssss !

Really looking forward to this one and always like a trip to Cheriton rd. Think it will be a tough test but recon we could sneak something here. Could be another Faversham moment....im going to go for 2.2 which will be a massive point and build on from last week....will also be keeping an eye on results below us.

Toughie, but play how we did against Merstham and surely three points is ours.

Or play how we did against Worthing and we could lose 6-0. Nigel claims in the Observer that performances are improving, players are fitter and they are now starting to believe in themselves. Not seen that personally in our performances so let's hope that changes today.

Well another defeat, another youth given a debut, (that's 39 players used this season) and a missed penalty. From the twitter reports it seems we deserved to loose. We need to get Sam Cruttwell and Fraser Logan back asap.

What has happened to Jamie Strong ? where was Evan Archibald ?

The only good news is just about everyone around us lost too....some much more heavily. However 4 points from 18 is a pretty alarming stat. as we approach the most crucial part of the season. Looks like this could go down to the last couple of games. Quite unthinkable back in August.

Absolutely awful, players in the main don't seem to care, manager is deluded and hasn't a clue. The chairman is killing the club, players manager and many fans know he is the reason. The heart has gone from the club. If we continue to play like we did today there is no doubt we will finish bottom. With our turnover of players I believe Nigel probably rings round on a Wednesday evening to ask if a player is available. The club is a shambles and a disgrace to the town.

First half ok, generally matched them. Not the best pen and a whole 'what if' if it had of gone in. Pressed well & everyone looked decent. Bad defending for goal but not out of it by any means.

Second half total opposite unfortunatly and aside from a tame Ade shot after he did good work getting in on goal only to provide a weak finish ( albeit on his weaker foot ) there wasn't much else for us whilst Josh kept the score down well.

Lucky that the sides below lost as well but can't rely on that going onwards.

Still probably the best day out for us in the league though apart from the game in a decent town at a good ground

Difficult to see how Hastings can play an effective pressing game without having 10 really fit outfield players. Interesting to speculate whether Dave Walters feels in anyway responsible for the present state of Hastngs United.

Well if he doesn't Tim, he should and he should also be apologising to the fans for what he has done to the club.

Not the best of games, like dan says with the benefit of some what ifs we might have nicked a point but didnt really do enough to warrant one. Not sure how their goalkeeper got man of the match, he didn't have to do much.
Most entertaining part of the day was the woman in the food bar asking the bloke behind me "do you want cheese in the cheeseburger?"
We need some results quickly.

Unfortunately but unsurprisingly, Nigel Kane has got this completely wrong. Whether your playing county league or premiership football, if you are heading towards the end of the season and knee deep in relegation problems you bring in experience and old heads, not throw a load of u21s and youth players at it. Looking at yesterday's scores you could say that neither works but the other teams are still picking up the odd win in between some heavy defeats. I said on day 1 it was a rushed, boring and uninspiring appointment and i have seen nothing to change that. Nigel claims we are fitter, getting better and have more belief in the side, does anyone else really believe that? We are so poor but just so fortunate there are 5 or 6 sides around us equally so.

Agree with Dan first half ok but second half our lack of creative never gave hope we would level it. agree with John on Nigel uninspiring appointment and before when he was manager never thought football was good to watch and we got promoted cos we did not let in many goal but even that is now more to team not putting away chances than good defending cos our defending is not good. the pitch did not help this be a good game as it was bumpy but folkestone not that good but there workrate was more than ours and they easily deserved the win. Folkestone match report is awful. It was a definite penalty and the ref was not conned and lack of protest by folkestone players prove that. Archibald was the player brought down and missed penalty but he was not even on pitch it was Adams and he calls Olorundas overly physical same could be said of there players and calls Pelling arrogant!? make me appreciate more our balanced fair match reports that keep to correct facts.

Shame not to nick something from this game. All the time it was just 1.0 always a chance but not to be! Blessing that all the other teams below us lost and do think we are better than all those below us...when we lose its usually by the odd goal not 3 or 4.....to lose 1.0 away to a promotion seeking folkestone is not the end of the world surely! Think we have enough depth n experience to get out of this mess...we are far too good to go down and ply our trade in the bumpkin county league....as mentioned before our saving grace is that there are least 6 teams in this division poorer than us. 2 massive home games now coming up n need at least 4 points from them....

'Far to good to go down' you say hastingsbuoy. Would love to know what you base that on. From what I've seen this season there's nothing that inspires me to share you're confidence. Over the years there have been many teams who have stated the same, only to find themselves plying their trade the following season in the league below. I seem to recall people saying we were too good to get relegated from the Premier to this league & look what happened.

Better be careful. You will be banned from the ground if you dare critiscise the great man.

9 good reasons why are too good n experienced to go down in my view......'Pelling, Rose, Ray, Binkhurst, T,Olorunda, A,Olorunda, Crutwell, Pogue, Logan.' Now they all have to go that extra mile and put in some giant performances over the remaining games starting next Saturday against Whyteleafe who we have already beaten once this season.

Have not most of these players been here for most of the season? Look at the table. We are not I knocking on the door of a play off place. I don't actually think we will go down but I couldn't say that with any degree of confidence & certainly wouldn't delude myself that we are too good to end up being relegated. Agree about the giant performances needed.

You`re right Kevin, where have they been all season, I most certainly would not agree with Pelling, he and Sam Adams are the only two that have given their all, we could have expected no more from those two, but the others, well the table does not lie, I laugh when I hear "we are too good to go down" how conceited.

I have never been against the chairman, but I must admit, I do think we seem to have tried everything else, so just maybe someone should really be digging deep into their conscience and asking if his journey should stop here ?

Does anyone know how many free entry passes we have on an away game?

I know the club has to send the opposition a list of people who will be attending so does this apply to pass holders only or can other be added?

To clear things up I hope a check can be done with Folkestone to see if any discrepencies occurred yesterday. I am sure  they can check with the gateman to confirm things were in order an no freeloaders jump on the bandwagon as the club has a bad enough reputation at the present time.

I asked the guy on the gate yesterday if I was on the guest list Popeye, and was told I was not on the guest list. You have to be on the list to gain free entry.

What a surprise! Why should anyone from Hastings be gifted free entry to an away venue. Ryman league clubs need all the revenue they can get to survive. Wonder how many people get into Hastings home games for nothing, anyone know the real numbers!

As a lot of the staff at the Pilot Field are volunteers, I believe that being put on the guest list for away games is a way of giving something back, like a 'thanks'. I believe that Clubs are only allowed about eight people on their guest lists. Lenny The Lion would be able to give the correct info on that I think.

So the fans are sheep, and the owners/ volunteers are the sheep dogs. Can I ask you 85 what you think the problem is then?

You are right doeboy, it is sad .... Sad that 9 times out of 10 it seems to be the same bile spitting mouthpiece lighting the blue touchpaper, Sad that no matter what happens there is a few that are only to happy to try and find fault, and even when unable, will make 5 from 2+2 and try passing it off as a fact. Sad that when the opportunity arises to ask the powers that be, matters that obviously rile them so much, be it at a forum or in person at a match, they don't !! opting instead to continue their efforts to poison the opinion of those who SUPPORT the club, the players, manager (whom ever it is) and yes DW. (who by the way, I've always found to be very approachable and easy to talk to). Sad that some people don't put the same amount of effort into trying to make the club a happier place as they do trying to destroy the efforts of those that are.

Liam you are correct, league rules allow each club 8 guests which has to be submitted to to the home club 24 hours in advance, the chairman and secretary of each club have passes and don't need to be on the list.

For the sake of some who once again are suggesting that there is something untoward going on without knowing the facts anyone on the guest list are people who give up their time to work for the club and are NOT freeloaders. It is a way, as Liam has said of giving a little something back.

Popeye, can you be very clear on what you are implying here. It looks as if you are saying that some of us try to pull a fast one, which if it is the case you should apologise.
