After the loss against Merstham a big game for us in the relegation fight against
Three Bridges is the number 12 in the table with 31 games played and they have 42 points. Remarkable 57 goals scored and conceded 69.
Played away 16 games, won 5, drew 2 and lost 9.
In October we lost the away game 3-2. Went 0-2 behind, but goals from Adams and Bankole leveled the score line but unfortunately we lost in the end 3-2.
And we ? It is obvious and already on the forum in a tread mentioned that this game is the start of a very important month. With the fixtures coming up this is a must win game. Hope the encouraging performance against Merstham and with the the support of hopefully a lot of Hasting supporters we will and have to keep the 3 points at home.
Only narrowly lost out last time - we were 2-0 down and brought it to 2-2 only to concede a silly goal in the final few minute to gift them three points. Also bloody cold if I remember rightly!
Remember it well. The pitch was absolutely dreadful. They battered us 1st half and we battered them 2nd. Ade could have scored two hat tricks that day.
Very difficult to read their form. They seem to win a couple and then lose a couple, and that has happened throughout the season. Away from home they have conceded 8 at Guernsey, 6 at Merstham and 4 at Tooting whilst conceding 3 on another 6 occasions. At the same time they have also scored a hatful including 6 at Herne Bay and 4 at Corinthian. What's the odds on a boring 0-0 now?
Lets not underestimate them...they have some good players and now have signed nathan crabb. Ive seen them a few times this season and they are a hardworking team. Their
weak link is they have a few volatile players so expect a few cards. Recon a draw would be a massive point....ill go 1.1

One point is not enough Hastingsbuoy ! We need the 3 !
Yes, it's pretty clear we need to start winning. The glimmer of hope is that our performance in our last two home games was much improved. Also, I thought the vocal support at those games was encouraging. Let's get behind the team on Saturday and give it maximum volume!

I know we need 3 points but would settle for 1 rather than 0....something to build on...if we drew all our remaining home games it would be enough I think.
The way the teams are going around us, if we even draw all our home games and pick up say, two away wins, we could still be in trouble. I'd say we need at least seven wins to be safe..
In terms of points, I would think that in most circumstances, 50 would be enough. That equates to a further five wins and a draw. The problem though, is that this season - as Liam says - the teams below us and around us look determined and improving. That said, I would think it very unlikely that a team achieving 52 points would be relegated - that is still a big ask for us, but three points tomorrow would be a big step in the right direction.
It is a massive ask Overthehill. Our performance was much better against Merstham, so if we continue to play like that for the rest of the season, I'm sure we won't have much of a problem. But like I say, and like Nigel has said in the paper, the teams are starting to pick up points around us, so there's a hell of a lot to play for.
Trouble is we really lack consistency. We pick up a couple of good wins and we think we have turned the corner and then we produce some abject performances and we're back where we started. It does seem that teams like Horsham,Redhill and Walton are making a determined effort to survive (rather like we did in Ryman Premier for a few years with loan players) so we must try to put some space between us and those below us when we can, starting against Three Bridges. Folkestone and Whyteleaf will both be really tough and then we have a real six pointer against Corinthian. Eight points from the next twelve is probably as good as we can hope for...we certainly don't want less than four.
Personally I don't think we need as many as seven wins to survive, five should do it comfortably.
Really disappointing result today with Three Bridges getting a deserved equaliser deep into injury time. A really scrappy performance today with no lack of effort but a real lack of quality despite scoring two decent goals. Thought we did okay defensively with Razor immense and Rose having one of his better games but looked really poor in the middle today with Timmy having a bit of a stinker and young Kyle also struggling to make an impact. Just hope we don't over play him now and put too much on his shoulders. Incredible talent but Looks like he could do with a break to me. The only other point I'll make is I still don't understand our tactics. We continue to play one up when at home which is okay when you have a Ross Allen type striker but not when you have Evan up there. We then take the lead twice and each time we bring on a forward and play two up. Just don't get it or is it just me?
Still deep in trouble and I can see this going right until the last game of the season. Desperately need some quality loan signings.
Quite right John, when they had a corner there was 6 of them in our box, and we had one, 3 at best, what was the shouting match about between the bench and Sammy Adams all about ?
considering where they are in the table, why were they so happy when they scored ? it`s not as if it made much difference to their position after all ! it`s been a long time since I`ve seen a team celebrate like that.
Burgess Hill reacted like they'd won the FA cup when they got that deflected goal last month. Ironically if we had held on for all 3 points we would of been in 17th place tonight, shows how tight this league is.
Think the celebrations were more to do with what went on 5 minutes before when it all kicked off between the players. Can't say they didn't deserve it though. After 15 minutes of the 2nd half we could have easily been 3 down. At the same time Taser and Kyle take their chances and we go in 2 up.
Such a disappointment. A point is better than nothing but it's not enough. I felt so good about this game this morning. We put in a very good shift today, much like we did last week - both times unlucky not to get three points. Having said that though, the first equaliser for Three Bridges was an unbelievable strike.
All rather frustrating today. We can't really claim we deserved the win but taking the lead twice and being ahead at 90 minutes makes it feel like points dropped. It's horribly tight at the bottom as we feared it would be and two extra points would have made it look much healthier.
Not too much to say about the match. Not a great standard throughout in a tricky wind but their first was as good a strike as we have seen at the PF all season. Not sure why Ade didn't start as he causes far more problems that Archibald ever will. Agree that Razor was impressive today and was speculating at half time just how many partners he has had in the centre of defence this season. It must be approaching double figures by now.
Clearly we're in for a squeaky bum Spring !
Did anyone else have the pleasure of hearing the ongoing commentary/barracking of Three Bridges from the bloke in the bar? I think he might be the answer to our managerial conundrum! An amusing aside to a choker of a result. And so bloody cold up there today!
Good to see two hastings old boys playing for 3 bridges..think on balance a draw was a fair result and something to build on for the final run in...have confidence we will be ok and too good to get relegated in my view...think we have too much experience to go down and this will keep us up...keep the faith!!
Fair result, awful quality but with 5 wins probably needed, we must improve our squad as its clearly not good enough, or strong enough in depth.
When our RB was injured with us 1\0 up we had to change every outfield area of the pitch, that is not good for any team, the bench didn't have a defender on it, so unless more signings are made these issues will continue and we wont leave Sussex next season
Thought Richardson-Brown looked useful when he came on the right wing showing good pace and skill...perhaps worth a start. We need wingers who can cause full backs a problem by being direct. So often opposing teams have that type of player against us !!
Yes he looked very quick ...wasn't on for long but caused a few problems ,made a goal and gave us a little something extra ...would like to see him progress ,,,don't know a lot about the lad ...there was a guy with the same name who played for Brighton Panthers but not sure if it's the same ,,, was badly injured last year ,,, can anyone verify if it is the same lad ?
He comes from Brighton Uni, played for the U21's tonight didn't have a great game but then none of them did in a 7-0 loss to Three Bridges. Bags of pace and if he's on his game I'd like to think he could cause defenders problems.
Sounds like the same guy then ...am I right that he did have a serious injury last year ? Ankle break or something like that ? Maybe he's still gaining fitness if that's the case ? how old is he ? Because the report I read said he's 23 !
