After the important win against Ramsgate we will now face the number 3 in the table
They played 31 games, won 18, drew 9 and lost only 4. Scoring a lot of goals ( 79 ) and conceding 38.Their home statistics: played 14, won 10, drew 2 and lost 2. Scoring 44 goals and conceded only 16.
Top scorer in the team is player of the season Tommy Hutchings with 15 goals. ( picture from Merstham side )But also Saraiva and Roberts are scoring a lot.
Last game they played away to Whyteleafe and won 1-5 ( 3 goals from Folkes )
Merstham play at : Moatside Stadium, Merstham
And we ? It was a very important 3 points against Ramsgate because the bottom teams are closing the gap. We have 8 points more then the bottom 3 but they have a lot of games in hand.
So we will have to get some points and that will not a easy task against a very strong Merstham.Early September we played 1-1 at home ( goals Dolan and Folkes )
Maybe our youngsters Kyle Holden and Harvey Hanifan will have another place in the starting line-up. ( pictures from the official )
So let's hope the team is fully 100% fit and motivated and with the help of the travelling supporters i hope for a surprise result!
A fighting performance from the team.we were 1-0 up at half time ...chances at both ends...against a skilful and big side who were very physical. Went to 1-1 but gutted the boys could not hold on for a draw.
Really encouraging performance. Thought we looked much fitter than we have been and we never let up harrying and pressing them. Had to ride out luck at times but our effort and overall performance deserved a point . Gutted with the second goal which came courtesy of a deflection off the ref straight back to their striker. Good goal from Evan and once again Holden was a revelation. That said, everyone put in a good shift. Play like that every week and we should pull ourselves clear of trouble.
