After the 0-2 loss against Worthing we are having a huge test against
They are currently on place 23 in the table with 25 points out of 28 games. 6 points less then we have but they have 2 games in hand.
Ramsgate played 13 games away; won 3, drew 2 and lost 8.
And we? Think we all know by now that the clock is ticking. The teams below us are coming closer and then it is not always quality but more energy and 100% mentality what you have to bring. The problem are our home results. 15 games played and we only won 2, drew 6 and lost 7!
So a big test for Management and Players ! Supporters : Keep The Faith !
Not a classic, but three just about deserved points. Very strong performances from Sean and Ade and a very good first half save from Josh. Maybe we were a bit fortunate with the penalty which was given? A great chance for Ade in the first half which he couldn't quite meet - was he held back?
Agree with all that, Geoff. We certainly deserved to win more than they did but equally unconvinced by the penalty ....one of many eccentric decisions from the ref.
It's given us a little bit of breathing space but Ramsgate are without doubt one of the weakest team we will play this season so there's still lots to do to get safe.
Decent first half and dreadful 2nd half but who cares at this time. Absolute critical win courtesy of Sam Adams penalty from pretty much our only attack of the 2nd half and it wasn't even a penalty from where I was. The team certainly tried hard tonight but once again the lack of quality really showed and let's not get away from the fact we were playing arguably the worst team in the league but as I said, who cares. Thought the young lad at the back and Razor were superb tonight along with strong performances from Brinkhurst and Pelling. Definitely need a couple more decent signings and once Logan is fit we may just be okay. Massive victory tonight.
Perhaps these things even themselves out. Thought the ref was pretty poor and especially at the start really didn't do much for the quality of the game although not necessarily to the detriment of either team.
Hastings definitely started both halves stronger and the rest was fairly even.
Very big win and that is about all that matters. Cool head needed for the penalty.
Must admit I thought Sam done well to get in front of the player to win the pen but looked a bit soft, as you all know I don't get to see a lot of the first half but didn't we have a blatant pen waved away when Ade was thrown to the ground, maybe he was making amends for that? Poor referee to be honest who made some very unusual decisions for both sides. I've got to echo everyone else's thoughts win ugly is very acceptable at this late stage and in need of vital points.
Massive congratulations to Sammy for his 100th club goal. 👏👏👏
Never a penalty but as Lenny says we had a good shout for one in the first half and would have been unlucky not to get the 3 vital points tonight against a poor team. Hope we can build on it and hope its not as cold as that at a game for the rest of the season.
would not say never a penalty but very soft but one in first half when ade pushed to ground was so guess we got it in end. typical relegation battle not much quality we probably deserved it more and good for sam to get 100 goals. relief to get 3 points
Good effort from the team, but little luck until the pen and confidence in front of goal still is lacking ( that ping pong across the box in the second half was frustrating to say the least ) but that will come if we can keep grinding out results and start to get 3 points a bit more regularly than of late. The main worry for me is the fact that we have played more games ( several in places ) than all 9 teams below us and the 2 above as well so we have so hope that our form is better pro rata than theirs!
Great to see Sam Adams get his 100th goal for us and also another good performance from Hanifan, encouraging at least. Strong could be good when settled and as John mentioned still got Frazer Logan to come back.
Defiantly some type of extra forward option though, whats Josh Oyinsan doing nowadays?!.... :)
Wins a win, and what a crucial win that was. Agree the penalty looked a tad harsh, but I didn't have the best view of it in all honesty. Ref was frustrating all night, he didn't let the game flow at all, and a slight nudges were blown up.
A big well done to Sammy though, to score 100 goals is a great achievement. Here's to 200
Don't know where any of you were standing but I was right in line with 18 yard box and it was a cast iron 100% penalty from there ! Sam got in front of the Defender and was taken down, may not have been deliberate but none the less ref was 100% right.
Could well have looked like that from the side but a lot of us were behind the goal facing the incident and it really wasn't. They were almost side by side and Sam fell across him, not sure there was any contact at all. Sam knew, you could tell by his reaction. Anyway who cares, about time we had some bloody luck.
I was in the main stand at that end and any minimal contact didn't even look like it was even in the area. Anyway we deserved the decision for missing out in the first half and for some pretty cynical fouls on sammy throughout the game.
Roy, I respect your judgement on this - it's a further illustration if any were needed of how things appear differently from different viewpoints. For the record, I was at the side, goal side of the away dugout. To me, although Sam was in front of the defender and in the box, I did not see an obvious foul from the defender.
I was on the side between the goal line and the 18yard line. Sammy was in the box and in front of the defender who fouled him. About the only decision the ref got right all night.
