Nigel previously mentioned in his interview with Liam after the Horsham game that some new players would be coming in very soon and some would be training with the U21's this Monday ( Which was postponed due to the weather ) Just wondered if anyone had any idea of who they might be?
I see Nathan Crabb has left Lewes and very much hoping that he is one of them as hes an exciting player when fit & on form and can play up front or wide left.
Can't help thinking we are going to need to get hold of a couple of decent players if we're going to pull ourselves clear of trouble.
I see Walton Casuals won again and they and East Grinstead are way ahead of us on current form having both brought in new players recently. Fortunately Redhill and Ramsgate are both in very poor runs at the moment and Horsham have a lot of points to catch up.
But we daren't lose on Monday and kick start a Ramsgate revival.....and you do seriously have to wonder about these Monday matches, given we are meant to be so unfit. Let's hope their game isn't off and we have to play....that could be really bad news.
Anyway, who wants mid table obscurity when you can have an exciting relegation fight ?
Says on football webpages that Tunde Dixon is a left back.... would love him to be decent so that Crutts can finally have a chance further forward on the LW
Me too John. We've put in three seven day letters this week. One to Tom O'Connor who played for us last week and one is a striker and then a left winger. Nigel didn't name the striker and winger though.
Regarding Liam's comment: let's first be appreciative of Nigel's efforts to shore up the side by putting in seven day letters. I'd like to see Danny back as would, I imagine, the great majority of us. I thought Tom O'Connor a good player who showed only a fraction of his potential for us previously. I'd like him to show just what he can do!
Great talent Tom but another youngster and not the type of player that will drag you out of a relegation fight. Am I right in saying he came on as sub for East Grinstead in their 2-1 win a few weeks back? Great potential and one for next season but not what we require at the moment in my opinion.
Yes he did John, he also got a winner I believe for them but I can't recall who against. I recall him getting a goal for us towards the end of last season.
Tom is a good player i still remember the goal from out side the box and smashed it in to the top corner against Faversham last season u can tell he's got alot of talent just needs a club that will give him a chance so he can show what he can do he's young but he has a football brain and can pick out passes cant wait for Frazer Logan to come back to as when I seen him play he's a play maker what we really miss in midfield
I am assuming, nearly 2 weeks on, that all the 7 day letters we sent out have been unsuccessful? We heard about players from Hythe, players from Eastbourne along with a few other names thrown in the hat but no sign of any new players, just players leaving. I still wait impatiently for NK to prove me wrong and prove he has contacts and the skill and know how to get decent players into the club at this desperate stage of the season.
I still think the key to this season may lie with the availability of Fraser Logan. Does anyone have any official news? this is where the club does let itself down at times. lets have an announcement from someone whether he will be available again or not this season. We must be talking to him on a regular basis?
Been thinking about our best team with Taser now gone and everyone fit, and we still look half decent albeit with zero confidence. I think Timmy has to play along side Razor now as he does not have the legs anymore for midfield and Hanifan really needs a break. And now Taser has gone we will now hopefully revert back to two up top. As I have said previously I really believe Guernsey is a write off and A damage limitation exercise but for the next home games verses Sittingbourne and Horsham, and everyone fit, I would play the following.
Pelling
Brinkhurst, Olorunda, Razor, Rose
O'Connor, Logan, Adams, Crutwell
Evan, Ade
With a bit of confidence, that is good enough to beat those teams, but whether NK has the ability to install that confidence is another question and one I doubt.
O'Connor is unavailable this Saturday think Logan out rest of season why not bring Woodley back someone who actually wants play for Hastings United n has passion for the club play him just behind the striker!
Bloody hell! we could have an u21 team out this weekend. Lets hope the damage is not too great because our superior goal difference is worth another point to us at the moment and that could be crucial come the end of the season.
Regarding Stevie's comment above: I would certainly like to see Jordan included on a regular basis either to start or on the bench. In the limited opportunities he has had this season he has indeed shown great commitment and enthusiasm. He has matured as a player and he is no longer in the 'card a game' mode which understandably made management wary of playing him in the past.
I spoke to Fraser the other night on Twitter John, he told me he's waiting for an MRI scan given that appointments for those sort of things are as rare as hens teeth I can't see that being very soon and then you have to take treatment into consideration. The club now have a chiropractor come in regularly so if Fraser is using him that may be of help. I personally can't see him return before the end of the season, just my point of view.
But this is the problem we chase players offer them silly money, they don't really want to come, but cant turn offer down, they turn up and produce nothing, Sadly the only thing that attracts players to Hastings is money. Hence why the club is a shambles.
I keep getting told we just cannot pick up players this time of the season, well this has been reported in the last hour in the Evening Argus. Should this not be the type of thing we should be jumping on? just a thought.
Eastbourne Borough have parted company with Marvin Hamilton and Dean Sinclair.
The pair have been regulars this season, with Hamilton making 35 league and cup appearances and Sinclair five less.
Hamilton, though, was sent off for the second time since Christmas in the 2-1 defeat at Farnborough last Saturday.
pitchero non league is full of transfers every day no other teams have a problem signing player . pat said in one of his posts that one of the reason maggs got the sack was lack of players so its the same now but kane is still here . why do we not here anythink from the club the only information we get is from the forum have we no press officer it seem like the club is dead
Many people on here know that this is something that i feel very strongly about and the club could defiantly improve on but i think your in the whole aiming at the wrong person here actually.
A lot of the times managers we have had have been reluctant to give too much info regarding the team and signings away as they understandably want to keep their opponents guessing,
In Seans defense he can only report on whats he's either told or asked to put out there.
Whilst i understand the aim of the management in keeping their team as unpredictable as possible i really feel that a better balance needs to be given as it can be frustrating when there's so little official news but like i say i generally don't feel the fault or issue is with the 'press officer' who runs a great website and exceptional twitter feed.
Its not one particular manager either past or present that does this but seems to be a general thing when team interests are slightly msialigned with the fans hunger for info.

The information given out by the club is shocking to be honest and if there was more clear and precise information from the club half of the nonsense that goes on here would not happen. I understand a lot of things cant be broadcast but what is there to hide about Fraser Logan for instance? We just keep getting bits and pieces and this is how rumours are spread. We must be talking to the lad so just put out a statement of what the problem is and how long we expect him to be out. We did this same nonsense with Bradley Goldberg which seemed to go on for months. I think this lack of clarity is one of the reasons why there are constant breakdowns in relationships between fans and management/owners and why fans feel so detached at times.
Agree entirely John and was brought up by myself in a SC meeting with Nigel, Stapes and Simon recently as a big issue and we do contrast badly currently against what Lewes do for example which is very good indeed ( weekly emailed newsletters etc )
I think that's an unfair comment Peter. I feel Nigel has a very good idea what he is doing and knows what he wants to get out of the team. I feel that coming in to next season, one of the highlights of the SC meeting was the email newsletter to members of the HUFCSC, however we do not have everyone's email, which makes this very difficult. I'm sure we will have another meeting in the near future to sort this issue out for next season. We have an exceptional press officer in comparison to other teams in our league. Many teams just automatically use Football Web Pages to update their social media sites and Pitchero for their websites. Sean, like the rest of us volunteers also has a full time job, so doing it in his own time away from work can take time.
The problem is Liam is that there is having a good idea of what your doing and what you want and having the ability to carry that out. I am afraid Nigel has already lost the majority of the supporters and he will only start to win some support back with the signing of quality players and by winning games. Unfortunately neither looks very likely.
To be fair to the lad he's only young, he made a mistake, he shouldn't be crucified for it. I would have no problem seeing him back one day but he seems to have gone backwards with his career. Seen him playing for Bexhill in the lower divisions of the East Sussex league.
Can't understand why we haven't seen more of Woodley this season. He is one of the few who has actually impressed on his very rare outings. I have barely heard his name mentioned but presume he is still with the club.
I'm afraid Crone was never up to Ryman standard. I suggest we leave him where he is.
I'll put the nails away then John and line them up for a worthy recipient. Totally agree about Wooders Mick. Think he'd make a difference at this late stage.
Yes Pat and Mick, I also commented earlier in this thread endorsing Stevie's comment that Jordan is a good player who has shown commendable attitude this season and it is a mystery to me why he has not been given a regular place in the squad. At the least, if he is on the bench I think that there is always a chance that he can come along and turn a game.

We all rate Jordan and a fit Jordan would be one of the best players in the league but I am afraid there is a bit more to the story as to why he is not playing.
OK John; well I'm sure we all hope that whatever the issue might be that we have an effective Jordan available to the team as soon as possible - he is certainly needed.
Re. a note in the Observer that Ewan Archibold has rejected an approach from Horsham: I'm glad about that. I have been critical of his ability in the past and quite clearly he does not have the ability to be an effective lone striker (what player in this league does?); but that said, he has good aspects which are most useful to us in our present situation - a positive attitude, a willingness to work for the team and an ability to actually head the ball.

I dont think we'll see Jordan back this season imo. Seems happy enough at Ringmer playing every game and scoring goals. Still almost certainly the best player at Ringmer so to get another player from there who isnt him doesnt fill me with great confidence in all honesty, the lad may have great potential but still a hell of a step up as we saw with the EP players and even Jason Taylor at the beginning of the season who was highly rated but failed to make an impact. This should be a signing for Preseason rather than with 10 games of a relegation battle left.
