After the first League loss under Dom Di Paola we will now meet
They are playing in Sussex County Football League Division 2 and are currently on place 4 in the table. The Oaks are playing in the same League as Little Common,Bexhill United and Westfield.
They play at:AFC Uckfield The Oaks, Eastbourne Road,Uckfield,East Sussex
And Hastings United ; after the lost against Corinthian Casuals which we didn't expected and reading the reports the lack of goal attempts this game seems a perfect opportunity to score some goals and also to build up some confidence. We are still in the zone in the table where we have to look to the teams below us and that wasn't what we all hope for.So hopefully Dom's team will react!
I can only think that it's not playable at the moment however with the way the weather is today it may be enough to dry it out? They may go over it with a fork which can help. We'll know more come 3pm.
Perhaps they are just giving the pitch every possible opportunity to dry out sufficiently. Although your rugby playing history is interesting it is hardly relevant as no egg chasing has taken place since approx 1998. Apparently drainage improvements were undertaken during the 2013/14 close season & it is possible that this is the first occasion this has been put to the test? I imagine that unless you are making a significant journey to attend or planning whether or not to set the Sky plus for Liverpool's latest anhiliation it is within everbody's best interest to give as much time to prevent a postponement as possible!? Hopefully Chris can contain his angst for a further 60 mins or so...
Dave you are exactly right, If the game is postponed again it will be switched to our ground. I'm sure the Uckfield players will be hoping that happens, who would turn their nose up at playing on our pitch.

If it is postponed will it be played at TPF next Tuesday?
It'll probably be on a Monday night not sure if it'll be next Monday or not but cup games take priority over any league games so it's a possibility. If it is postponed then it will be on the main website ASAP.

Tuesday night is cup night at the oaks as the boys welcome @hastingsufc to the ground in sussex senior cup action 745 kick off
ot for me but apparently they were hopeful this morning, I think it would of been a miracle following the amount of rainfall yesterday. Notably I believe our U21 game last night to survive in any of the Ryman league as a whole.
Never a chance Barrie we have lost 3 weeks due to a Mickey Mouse club being deluded about their ground. So either next week or the week after we will have to host them. At least will get to watch game on tv now.
From what I recall it was a poor pitch at the best of times, no doubt their players will now be rubbing their hands at the prospect of playing at The Pilot Field. I see Maidstone are on Thursday night V Stevenage too. I shall be viewing that now that our U18 game has to be rearranged.
Hastings United’s footballers ended a four-game winless run with a 3-0 cup victory at home to AFC Uckfield Town last night (Monday).
Although comfortable in the end, it was hardly a convincing performance from the U’s and the scoreline was harsh on an Uckfield side which gave a good account of themselves considering they play two levels further down the non-league pyramid.
Uckfield, who are second in Macron Store Sussex County Football League Division Two, certainly had their chances and Ryman Football League Division One South club United scored two goals direct from free kicks.
In a Parafix Sussex Senior Challenge Cup second round tie switched to The Pilot Field after two postponements at The Oaks last month, United had the first opening when Evan Archibald’s shot was pushed aside by away goalkeeper Tom Bradford at his near post.
But Uckfield, who doubtless would’ve enjoyed the first class playing surface, came close as United defender Marc Pullan headed against his own crossbar and the U’s then needed a timely tackle from Sean Ray as Uckfield were about to shoot at the end of a good move.
Archibald headed wide from a Sam Adams cross and against the post from Taser Hassan’s delivery before United opened the scoring in the 34th minute thanks to a moment of real quality from their captain.
The referee awarded United a free kick right on the edge of the box for a foul on Hassan - much to Uckfield’s obvious displeasure - and Adams stepped up to pick out the top corner with a delightful strike for his third goal in four matches.
United struggled to really stamp their authority on the game, though, and Uckfield weren’t far away from an equaliser on the stroke of half time when Elliott Wood headed just over from Dan Dunford’s right wing free kick.
Sam Cruttwell forced Bradford into a diving save at his near post with a cross-cum-shot early in the second period and Archibald shot wide from an Adams pass, but Pelling came to the rescue at the other end with an important save after Joe Miller cut out Ray’s back pass.
Bradford made a diving stop from a long range effort by Tom Vickers, yet was unable to keep out Cruttwell’s 61st minute free kick which cleared the wall and crept inside the near post to give United a two-goal cushion.
That ought to have been that, but Uckfield hadn’t thrown in the towel. Harry Mills prodded just wide, Howard Davey’s shot was saved by the legs of Pelling and the visitors also had a strong penalty appeal for handball turned down.
At the other end, Charlie Farmer’s header from a Cruttwell corner bounced up onto the crossbar and Kenny Pogue headed home another Cruttwell flag kick at the near post to round-off the scoring in the 86th minute.
Victory in United’s first cup game at The Pilot Field this season has set up another home tie in round three against in-form Burgess Hill Town on a date to be announced.
Bert NEC. I see your posting is a direct copy from the Hastings Observer Website. Is this legal ? Are you not contravening copyright laws ?
As for the game itself the real difference was the two excellent goals from free kicks by the two Sams. Uckfield gave a good account of themselves and at times it was difficult to tell who were the Ryman and who were the County League sides. Will have to play a lot better against Burgess Hill.
Philg are you serious? Copyright laws? This is a football forum not a bloody political newspaper to be published! Also I disagree with the second thing you said about not being able to see a difference. Whilst not playing to our full strength, the ability and difference in class did show through last night, and I think that the three goal margin was about right and what we deserved. At times, Uckfield didn't have a clue what to do with Kenny, and Cruttwell's goal just took them all by surprise, whereas a team in a higher division like ours would half expect something like that. Good performance, now to Redhill on Saturday.
Having spoken to Simon Newstead he has no problem what so ever with the report being used however I have added a credit to the bottom of Bert's post. I'm certain that many of us have posted things on here from other media and it's never been questioned or criticised before so I don't know why it's an issue all of a sudden?
Phil was right to raise the issue as it could have caused issues, but thankfully Simon has said its ok, as I for one like to read the report on here.
Liam yes we were the better side and deserved to win, but you can't really say we played well, because we simply didn't create chances, all the goals were from set pieces.
I would just suggest people post links to articles rather than cut & paste in general.
With Simon's articles it would never had been an issue I'm sure but best to have good practice across the forum.
Am very well advised legally by media and copyright lawyers that i know well, employ at work and have used in previous instances in regard to this forum so you almost certainly you wont get any issues over something similar in future save being asked to remove it if requested but best to just stick with links.
Although correct however, was not surprised to see it was Phil picking up on something of Bert's once again sadly... Running theme there...
Where did Cruttwell play yesterday?, was still rough last night so didnt go again but looked like a 442 from twitter with Sam at LW and Farmer at LB, was that the case?
If you look at Winchys excellent assist chart young Sam has really been productive so far this season, especcially for someone playing at LB!
What really surprises me is that Sam Cruttwell has been left on the bench recently.
Playing at Left Back he has had a few problems (he is young and playing out of position), but for me he is still worth a place in the starting line up.
Sam played at LM and had a good game. I thought we were by far the better side and a stronger ref would have dealt better with Uckfield's constant fouling, especially when our much quicker forwards went past them. They also kept up a barrage of complaints at the ref and he completely ignored two of their players swearing at him. I know it is common but I've seen enough Hastings players punished for it over the years.
thought we played well last night although Uckfield did ok but we looked better side and so we should. 2 great free kicks and a corner and 3-0 about right result but credit uckfield as they keeped trying and never gave up including fouling. good to see crutwell back (dont understand why he been left out either) but sorry archibald looked poor against county league 2 side. nice seeing an under 18 get on and sure we have a better under 18 striker that can do a better job?
Steve, I certainly didn't notice or hear any noticable difference in the level of dissent from either side, from where I was standing I heard Tasser & Adam both direct foul language at the officials not than it was particulalry excessive in either instance. The main source of discourse came from the home dugout but that's possibly understandable with their frustration at the performance. We had a little bit too much nouce for Uckfield last night although I can't help thinking it could have been a lot more uncomfortable had Razor not got away with his handball in the 2nd half, a goal for them would have really tested our fragile confidence and togetherness?
