After the deception on Saturday against Carshalton Athletic we will now meet TootingMitcham.jpg

Last season we won at home 3-1 on 12-10-2013 with an O.G., Ellis and Adams for the U'sss and Frankie Sawyer for T&M.U.

Away we lost 0-1 on 1-3-2014.

This season they are now on place 14th with as many points as we have but with a better goal diff. The last 2 games The Rebels drew 2 times.

Home games we need to win and that is why the game we lost against Carshalton is a bit of a turning point. Not alone we missed to go to the sub top of the table but also failed to continue our unbeaten run. We do seem to have some issues about 100% fitness and little injuries in the squad. Hopefully the team can bounce back and will start a new unbeaten run.

Can Kenny make his third this campaign kenny pogue or will Ade AdeOlorunda1.JPG score with a rocket from distant ?

Anyway if you want to see this all, you are very welcome to The Pilot Field !

I really hoped this would be a different game then Saturday but their keeper had to make one decent change according to Twitter.
It is quite strange that after an unbeaten run of 6 games in which the team played pretty well our 2 last home games were so poor. Can't explain and i wasn't even there..... Hope you have seen a sparkle of hope where Terry can build on.
Supporter in good and bad times.
Very sorry for you all.

I'm going to be brief for a change because to be honest I am so angry I cannot use the words I want to use on this forum. I  have just witnessed the worst 90 mins of football I have seen in over 30 years of supporting Hastings and I feel everyone of those players and management team apart from Razor and the 2 Sam's, should return their wages and pay for every supporter that paid to watch that tonight.

Someone now come on here and tell me they need time to gel! TW has now lost the changing room and the supporters and there is now no way back. If he is not sacked tonight I hope he does the decent thing for all and resign as that is unacceptable at any level of football. No effort, no skill, unable to pass ball 5 yards, no leaders and in Rose and Cook two players who would struggle to get in the supporters team on the effort and skill levels shown. I have never seen or heard so many angry and disgruntled supporters at the end and I cant wait to hear from those who have asked for time and constantly tell us all is great.

Thank you Terry for your efforts, your a decent bloke and a decent coach but tonight was the final straw.

I thought we were quite unlucky tonight, played well for most parts and conceded 3 unlucky goals! Our 2 shots of the game should have gone in and we did well to get the ball on the deck and pass it around, richard rose man of the match in my opinion.

I know we lost 3-0, but there were a few positives out there, the team just need more time to gel , it's still early days! We come up against a good tooting team tonight. We'll easily beat any other team on our day, just give it time and again, allow the team to gel!

Anyone disagree please feel free to say

I've had time to calm down Dave and on reflection you are right. Don't remember the 2shots though and thought Bankole was MOM. Loved the way he ran for that taxi at 7.45, full of pace.

I'm afraid 5 defeats (and we're still in September) says it all. You have to give credit to the opposition though - to win away and keep a clean sheet is decent. Trouble is that we aren't capable of even putting up a half-decent effort, which is the least we should perhaps expect. I'm sorry, but with a couple of exceptions, we have a bunch of mid-table, ordinary, footballing journeymen who'll probably get a lovely night's sleep and will get paid, whereas the supporters lay awake wondering whether their hard-earned wages have been worth spending on lower mid-table garbage. Time, methinks, for the sackings to commence. Just wonder who's next in the hot seat - I wouldn't be surprised if a suitable candidate hasn't already been identified, and he's waiting, all excited, before he inherits a bag of ***** and says goodbye to the poisoned chalice before Santa arrives. Same old, same old.....nothing will ever change. A depressed fan who's followed the U's since 1967.

Well said Dave.I think you summed the game up in a nut shell. Our commitment was second to none and our passing game really shone through.Thought we gave their defence a really hard time and were unlucky to concede three goals.Think Mr Walters should offer Terry a new contract on the back of such a fine performance.......Oh dear,I think I've taken the wrong medication

Well what can you say about that pile of sh*t if grays had someone there tonight they won't have learned anything from that embarrassing, gutless and shambolic performance no fight no passion and why does terry keep on changing formation how can the players get used to a system when it is constantly changing

Rumours are rife, I've heard he's walked. If so fair play to him, he's clearly a proud man and probably a childhood dream for him to manage Hastings but the right time for him to go if true.

Of course tonight's performance was abject. I don't go as far back as John, but yes for lack of effort, lack of quality and zero entertainment value this was among the worse display I have seen in the time I have been watching United. It is entirely fair for supporters to point out that we are paying to watch 'professionals'; whatever else we are entitled to see a performance which merits that description. I hate to blanket criticise and I seldom have, but tonight was simply not a performance which any professional side can say met minimum standards of acceptability. The high point was the terrace singing of the Python anthem 'Bright side of life'. Only tonight you had to look pretty deep to find it.
I simply do not know how we can produce (by all accounts) good performances away from home and such a woeful display before a home crowd. Saturday's Cup game really now is crucial. If we lose that then apart from some interest in avoiding County League football the season is effectively over - when it promised so much - before the leaves have left the trees.

Agree with your 1st post John, one player in particular has gone from hero to zero in 6 days, Cook was a disgrace lost the ball waved his arms and stood still, no fight from some players who are clearly there for the money. No excuse for not trying

dont like to single out player for criticism but they dont give a care so i not either. Cook and Rose need to go how can they take there money. embarassing and a disgrace to all us that pay to watch. i think club should give supporters money back tonight. i go to watch football but there was no from hastings so it is selling something that is not there.
last week at Whiteleafe and Sittingbourne thought it had clicked but last 2 game are worse perormance i see from a hastings side in 20 years. as other say no passion, no fight, no energy, no leadership, no system total shambles look like a school football team. with no doubt time for Terry to walk or get sacked if he care for club he will walk if not club must do right thing. can not win league anymore but still chance of play off but some players need to go and new manager need to start soon that cares as much as supporters do. if players read this and not hurting then dont come back because i dont want my money in your pocket.
so angry

Abject as it was, I'm never comfortable with booing your own team. People pay their money, so have the right to express their opinion, but players like Sam don't deserve to hear it, and it definitely doesn't help.

Never seen such a gutless performance from a Hastings team. Apart from a few players there was no commitment or effort. I don't like singling out individuals but the ironic cheers during the substitution of Cook said it all. As for Rose I can't believe that he has played full time professional football. I have been told that Terry has resigned. Some players need to look at their performances and follow his example.

Emotions are flying high at this moment and very understandable ; all players are committed to one thing before a game starts : and that is 100% effort ! For your Club, For your Supporters , for the rest of your Team and for your OWN.
What has happened ? Feel sorry for your all and really hope things will be better in a short time.

The supporters deserve better. How many managers? How many players? How many systems? Lower mid-table County League stuff and we're still no better. We're going backwards. Conference South???? More like East Sussex League. In my opinion, the focus should be on those who appoint these managers, sack them, replace them....and sanction, I assume, the wages of a bunch who can't even play at this standard (with a couple of exceptions). It's time for somebody to have a close look and make some brave decisions. Otherwise, we won't ever progress. the whole thing is sad, pathetic and indefensible. the time for a change is NOW before even the most ardent fans say enough is enough. Don't hold your breath...we've been here before.

nothing on site about him going so guess just rumour fatherxmas? we were all happy with squad and i think terry at start of season. it is manager that picks system and players and the system that we play sometimes this season have been so bad. it got better last few weeks but last night players no effort and look like strangers and not knowing what they were doing. it is them that need to look at themself and the manager and agree they need to decide if they want to were the badge that supporters have so much pride for but players look like they only want money. not sure what other managers are out there that can turn this **** round

I was in two minds whether to go or not and really wish I hadn't ,,,it was painful from the first minute to the very painful 97th...I have seen some bad games over the years but this takes the biscuit. Apart from the two Sam's the others all seemed to be clueless. For the first time for years I spent a few minutes up on top of the grass bank with my Dad and his mate John , to get the best view of what was going wrong ...it's quite clear from there and I suggest the bench is moved up there so that they can see it too. You can see players running around like headless chickens. But the main failing is the bad passing . The crowd even started to do the `Ole' s `...I think they got to 5 !!!! Considering Tooting had already taken the foot off the gas then that is disgusting at any level. I'm not joking when I say I have seen the Suporters team pass better !!!    Awful , truly awful !!!!!

Sadly here there are so many issues, I know you won't all agree but these are the ones I see, I also expect there are many others .
1) no respect for the manager from players
2) manager has no tactics
3) some players don't care and are there for the money
4) club needs a total change from owner through to players as there is obviously lack of trust / respect from top to bottom.
5) it's too late this season, let's clear out avoid relegation and move on.
6) We have a good pitch so when weather good, players should train on pitch and get used to it, as the number of passes left short suggest there is an issue.

One question I would also like answered why was Frankie on the bench, as he is obviously injured and was never getting on, is this a money thing as well, strangely I almost feel sympathy for DW as it would appear some are taking the p*** out of him. I used the word shambles as quoted by an ex manager of the u21 but looking at it 3 weeks on its worse than a shambles.

No confirmation as yet this morning but surely only a matter of time before an announcement is made. 10 hours on I thought I would feel better but like many others I feel worse tinged with some real sadness as to how my beloved club has fallen into decline. I think you only need to read comments from the most loyal supporters such as Pat, Windy and Steve Thorpe to understand the true feeling on this occasion but where do we go from here? My guess is that Kane will be given the post on either a permanent or caretaker basis but is that not just going down the same route? is he as culpable as Terry? He is always on the touchline with his note pad talking to Terry, what was he there for and what influence did he have over formations and tactics? If I had my way I would fast track Sammy Adams through his coaching badges and get him involved as he is everything that a Hastings supporters wants to see. Super attitude, great fitness, great player and Hastings through and through. There was a quite incredible incident last night when Sam picked up his knock. He could barely walk and kept looking at the bench but to no avail as he was kept out there for another 10 mins and so jeopardising his place on Saturday. Suddenly the ball broke free in central midfield and Sammy ran with a really heavy limp straight past Dave Cook to try and win the ball. That told me everything I need to know about both as people and players.

If not Kane, and DW goes for the complete clear out then would Sean Ray make an incredible turnaround and be installed as caretaker manager? He is certainly one of the very few shining lights this season but I hope he continues to concentrate on his game. Someone also mentioned to me last night that Scott Price, the newly appointed u21 manager and ex Rye as a possibility but this job would be way too big for him at this time.

Whoever it is they have a huge rebuilding job ahead of them and probably only have a couple of games to turn around our form and give us any possible lingering hope of a playoff position, impossible as that may seem. I can think of 3 or 4 players that need to leave immediately and we desperately need an injection of pace into the team. Every team we have played this season, however poor, have pacey front and wide men and have us caused problems all season. Do we have any money left? What will DW give to a new manger? Looking at our bench last night the squad is now undeniably weaker than what John Maggs had last year and as for Bankole, the stories if true are quite astonishing.

So off to Grays on Saturday and the same old bunch of loyal supporters will be there cheering the team on who ever is in charge. I expect a huge reaction from the team on Saturday and I actually believe we can get a result but the players must take a long hard look at  themselves and prove to us all that they are proud to wear the shirt and badge. Absolute last chance saloon for 3 or 4 players and 2 in particular.

Agree with most said. if terry does go then think they all must go as John says they are all in it and most all be responsible for shambles. think it worth clear out let razor and sam (good call) take temporary charge and advertise job. Last chance for 2 players has past in my opinion. agree with windy the passing is awful and they must train on pitch heard they are not allowed to and they train indoors at Wiliam parker. that is no good. but still if they are footballers they should be able to make a simple pass 5 yards but they can not do that. it is a total shambles, early in season it was shambles terry went missing ben took it and that was shambles. terry comes back no explanation got briefly better and now shamble again with a management team that has how many in it. feel sorry to for DW but he needs to get axe out

The squad are allowed to train on the pitch, not every week granted but can we just bare in mind that for that to happen people with both family and work commitments have to give up their time!

No what I'm saying is the pitch still needs to be repaired after they've trained on it, nothing to do with lights and some do have keys.

Explain your comments, as I don't see how its pathetic as what you are saying is the pitch cant be repaired as people don't have the time, I understand that, but would it be the end of the world if the pitch wasn't repaired after some training sessions? It would still be better than 95% of the pitches in the league. Its a piece of grass for goodness sake not a living room.

Actually regardless of whether they train on it or not we should be hugely more used to playing on it than opposition teams that only visit once a year. However a lot of the football we've played seems to have been very direct and a lot of our goals appear to have come from long passes by the back four.

Just feel that the perfect conditions suit other styles of football better and that we never made enough use of the good surface. Frankie, Taser and Kenny in particular are better at running onto balls played along the ground rather than over their heads.

If only we could either get Taser to play deeper crosses or else anticipate the near post ball better as well.

Dont understand the point you are making about the pitch Chris. Most league clubs have training grounds and dont use their pitch for training. It doesnt seem to affect their performances. We have a mix of using the pitch and training at Parker. - are you actually saying that the problem is due to this, or are you simply thinking of as many things you can throw in to stir up trouble? Id have stuck to your original post as you made a couple of valid points, but you had to go a stage further and once again show that you absolutely revel in stirring up trouble.

Think it also may be just as much of a confidence thing at this stage with some players keen just too keen to release the ball quickly despite players not being in ideal positions to receive, also maybe a lack of someone in midfield willing to receive the ball short from the back four then turn and dictate the play ( I.e an actual playmaker ) although that is probably where Sam Adams should make it his own position.

Cook whilst a decent player appears to be more of a Lampard or Le Tissier style midfielder with the emphisis on long shots and getting beyond the strikers and not naturally inclined to track back as much. probably more suited to playing behind a single target man ( an Ade style player rather than Kenny or Frankie as that role doesnt suit them ) rather than as one of a central midfield two where that skill is much required.

Ollie Bankole and Timmy Olorunda are very similar players imo although would make a much more solid CM if they both played and could be an option with the emphasis on feeding and breaking from the wings while keeping it tight, to have a playmaker someone like SA is probably needed in there. If Vickers had been available then either him or Dolan could do the job too with the other going wide left but his absence has hit us hard.

Pat my point is that in the games I have seen at the PF this year and often last year that passes are often falling short, not just from us but from opposition as well. So I would suggest that by training on the pitch with match balls should help our players get used to the surface. There is nothing more in what I’m saying than that.
I have my own view as to why our pitch isn’t always easy to play on and its as more of a credit to our groundsman than a negative, and that is we have a surface that most clubs outside the top 2 divisions of English football would be proud off, but we are missing something that most pitches of our quality have and that is a sprinkler system that allows the pitch to be watered pre-match and at half time, which allows the ball to move better on the surface.

What type of system you thinking of Dan? Put it like this we looked into just one of those water sprinklers that moves along by itself for the very basic model it was £1000 +vat. To be able to have anything where we could water the pitch before a match would have a far more heavier cost than that due to the water supply. They would have to redirected pitch side and that won't come cheap.

The bloody pitch is fine, Tooting, Merstham, Chipstead and just about every other team seems to cope just fine. Some of our players are just not good enough and neither is our coaching, simple as!

I guess we are all, at best, bemused and, at worst, shocked at what has happened on the pitch this season. I think at this stage last year we had won 7 and drawn 2 from 11 games so our current record of just 12 points this time around is woeful in comparison.
We thought the squad had significantly strengthened but clearly it hasn't and we have let in bags more goals than at the same point.
In overall play have we been so much worse ? My honest opinion is 'no'. I felt we overachieved in terms of results in game after game last year, in many of which we somehow sneaked a one goal victory without ever playing well. Fortunes have rather reversed so far and we are now losing and drawing games that a year ago we were winning.....though our performance is not really much worse and it's individual errors that cost us.
I actually feel the standard of the league has slightly improved too. Just as an example, Worthing were pretty terrible last season but were well worth their recent draw.
I have absolutely no idea what is for the best at this point. Do we stick or do we twist ?
One thing I do feel is that we MUST try to put out a settled team. I appreciate that injuries and 'nightmare performances' make this difficult but constant changing of positions / formations is not helping.

Our best home performance has been against Hythe on a fast, wet surface and that is no coincidence. We are at our best when we break at speed and the beautiful dense 'lawn' does not help us when conditions are dry. This is NOT a criticism of the pitch (and certainly not of Simon) but I am convinced a fast wet surface would improve our passing, our creativity and the overall entertainment. You can pooh-pooh this if you want but the pitch in football IS significant, just as it is in cricket.

Think it is a difficult situation for both club and all others involved.

Seems that the team isn't able to perform 100% and also not committing 100% on the pitch to themselves and the club.

Think that a change of management ( if that will be the case ) is not the only issue. Think the board has to make decisions regarding management and players who is fully committed and can give 100% for our club.
If we have that kind of people on board then supporters will recognize a 100% attitude and will - despite some bad results - always staying behind the team.
This season is lost but with so many seasons still coming we have so much more to win.

That is the main decision to be make . A lot of success for those to make those choices.

A depressing and rather sad evening at the Pilot Field for players, management and supporters. All the pre-season optimism and hopes for promotion were shown to be totally unrealistic. What appeared to be a pretty useful squad of players does not seem to be able to cope with any team playing with energy and pace. Thought Sam Adams and Sean were stand out players last night. Have we got too many players who have just passed their best? Particularly galling to see Billy Medlock doing so well for Tonbridge along with Dee Okojie and Lee Carey! It wasn't that long ago we were about the best non-league side in Sussex playing and beating sides like Burton Albion and Crawley. It's going to be a long season.

Mick last night there was a heavy dew and the pitch was as quick as i seen it and very yellow to in cole warren end. Tooting like to play quickly on it and passed it round so why can we not do that, because we can not pass a ball 5 yard and have no energy or pace or fitness in our side. i dont think it to do with pitch our player should be use to it now, i was told they arnt allow to train on it but it says above they do but we never use home advantage but suppose so many players it is not there home so just like an away game but still they should be use to pitch and how it play if it dry or wet

Didn't think I would ever post this but have to say the late introduction of Jordan Woodley did add pace and energy to our side.

Can I just put this to bed? The team ARE allowed to train on the pitch and do so!!!!! Whoever has been told that they aren't allowed has been misinformed.

Haven't been on here for a while. If you look back over the last 10 years this is just a recurring theme. I am afraid that the man at the top who is hiring these poor managers, has to take a long hard look at himself and realise that for the good of the club and it's very loyal band of supporters, he must stand down.

The potential of this club is massive, if we could only get in a chairman(or consortium), that has some business acumen and has good man management skills, which DW definitely has not got.

So another manager goes probably for the best we we only just scrapped into the play offs last season and this season after assembling a decent squad it just hasn't happened constant change of formation never the same team two games running but I also think the players should take a hard look at themselves it might only be non league but we still have supporters that care

It is always the best way of changing things: look always on the things you have done before pointing to another. Nigel is caretaker so i assume the clubs search will continue.

I really don't understand why the Chairman and directors always appear blameless in these circumstances. It is they who appoint managers, and how many opportunities have they had over the last few years to get it right? Who is the longest serving manager we've had lately? Responsibility and accountability lie somewhere. Yes, blame managers and players, but somebody appoints managers and sanctions player acquisition. We now appear to be heading nowhere, with the owner's apparent desire for Conference football further away than ever, with a caretaker manager (wasn't he sacked once before?) and Razor the only other name in the frame (great manager who was sacked too??). Who else is out there? The job's too big for Scott Price - excuse me - running a lower mid-table County League team which is going nowhere is too much - what an insult to Scott that is! Why can't the owners see that they've had a go, failed, we're going backwards, and my beloved club is on its way to obscurity? Why do some on this forum continue to blindly support the current structure and appear so afraid to challenge? do we not all crave the same things - stability, success and a bit of decent football to watch....

Well just assuming for a moment that however well he does Nigel won't take the job full time then what names are viable?

Can't think of many known faces at all tbh! If not to be Nigel ( which depending on results it may well be I assume ) then who is around?!

so no surprise then Terry has gone, feel sorry for him yes he got things wrong but dont think the players did enough to keep him in job. think some players will need to up game now or theywill be out to.
i know i can be critical at time to but i praise when its good like Sittingbourne but some only come on here when its bad like Gaz and Overthe hill so they have bad motives and dont love club that much. and who is there to buy club anyway. i think it is hard to get right manager, really thought maggs was the one but that was disaster with no forwards and no full backs and the league table did lie as we were not 5th best side last season. we have a very stable club when other go from one finance problem to next. i think now with money i hope still from a cup run if club was sold could get people with wrong motive to buy club. just hope that next manager keep things simple think we need more young hungry players as teams we have lost home to this season have been young, quick hungry where we have to many player that have had there time. we need a real manager that knows how to win and can motivate his players. sometimes terry and to many assistant look like they was resigned to defeat. i cant think who might be up for it but think a younger guy that like his players will be will be hungry for success. Simon Rowland did well for Eastbourne in vase last year but not sure if ryman is to much for him?

Actually, Peter, as I have supported the club through thick and thin since 1967, I think I'm entitled to an opinion whether you agree with me or not. i come on this forum when i feel that there is something that i think should be done better. so if that's a motive you don't like, so be it.

You really make me laugh Overthehill, you haven't been on here for months and as soon as there's a bit of bad news you take the opportunity to play the old sack the board and chairman routine! As its been stated on here many times before the chairman owns the club, it's his to do with it as he sees fit, With it being his he therefore he cannot be sacked! If he decides to sell that is his business nobody can force him to sell it.
As regards Razor being sacked I think you'll find he resigned and wasn't sacked. Nigel left the club by mutual consent so again hardly a sacking is it?
One of your last posts months ago claimed you would never set foot back inside The Pilot Field again so forgive me if this isn't the case but you are hardly qualified to be commenting on the way the team are currently playing. I'm not saying that the team iarent playing the way we'd all like them to that's clear to see easily.
I'm sure I'm not the only one who thinks that its annoying that people like yourself who have nothing to say for months on end and then come out of the woodwork calling for heads to roll.

Yes and like you Overthehill, Peter is entitled to his opinion, here`s an idea, why don`t you buy the club and run it how you want  to and see how easy it is.

I wonder how many people bother to speak to Dave about how he runs the club. He is usually in the club house after games and is willing to talk to supporters. As far as I know he has not received any offers to buy the club so why would he leave?

This is an unofficial club forum and people should be allowed to express their views without being be littled by moderators, and people that work for the club. We are entitled to our opinion, without cyber bullying.

Think the use of the word 'Cyberbullying' is about 1,000,000 times over the top here Chris, you had someone express a strong personal opinion and someone else equally strongly refute it. massive massive difference between that and 'real' Cyberbullying which can lead to some pretty nasty endings which is not whats going on here.

The views of both sides of the fans, mods and volunteers are equally passionate , as seen above there are many fans ( not just mods etc ) who just dont agree that DW is to blame for the current situation. accusations of 'belittling' are not unique to that side of the argument either.

After Razor left the majority wanted a experienced manager, we got the one that the majority wanted. money was there to spent but the squad wasn't sufficiently improved. When Maggs left to my knowledge the apparent majority were understanding of the decision and there wasn't too much debate about giving Terry the reigns back. A lot of money was spent in the summer to the delight of pretty much all the fans and a lot of experienced players brought in. Really not sure what more a Chairman can do?

You can say the wrong managers have been picked but recently they have tended to be ones that a lot of fans were happy to go along with.

Hindsight is being used very liberally here in the past of recent to say that Maggs should never have been sacked etc when i dont recall too many ( if any ) voices against it at the time.

Terry gave it his best shot and unfortunately despite that things just haven't worked out. somethings were within his control and somethings are down to the cruel gods of football fate but he deserves to be wished goodluck and appreciation for trying to do his best for a club he dearly loves.

Who would you choose yourself now then who is available?

xRimsayx If you read my post correctly, I was not asking for him to be sacked as obviously this could not happen. I said that he should stand down. The club has not progressed under his ownership. I do appreciate what a very difficult job this must be and accept that he wants to take the club forward, but for whatever reason it is just not working.

Everyone has a right to an opinion on here.
I don't consider any bullying to have taken place but suggestions that Overthehill or Gaz for some reason don't have as much right to express their opinion as the rest of us is wrong. Both these guys have been great supporters of HUFC over the years.
I don't particularly agree with them on this matter but I defend their right to speak their minds as to what would be best for the club. That's what a forum visited by adults is all about.

Cyber bullyin??? I think you need to look up the definition of cyber bullying. One post to correct a couple of mistakes and to view my and as I said probably others annoyance of someone's only activity in months which was view their opinion is that the chairman and board should be relieved of their duties is hardly cyber bullying. Not once has there been a threat or intension to cause the person who posted the comment any harm been written in my response.

Said this loads of time over last couple of years but hypothetically even if DW did want to leave & sell ( which he doesn't ) then he couldn't & wouldn't just stand down, someone would have to match his asking price and over the last few years there has been not even the slightest indication of a party with suitable funding in the running that i am aware of so it is academic anyway.

Gaz with all due respect how do you define going forward? If you define it as getting promoted ,moving up the league system, then no we haven't? However if you define it as having a financial stability and being in the black 9 out of the last 10 years then yes the club has moved forward.
All to often you hear of non league clubs being thrown into financial difficulties because of mis managed finances. What would you prefer a club you support stare nonexsistance in the face or a club trying to compete within its budgets and be solvent? We all know the money being pumped into Margate, I've heard it's in its millions over 5 years I believe it is to get them to league two, is that viable? Time will tell, I don't think it is which makes me wonder if Margate will see out their ambitious dream. Make no mistake I'd love to see our club get into The Conference but I'd also like a team we can go and watch on a Saturday afternoon not a run down piece of land like there is adjacent to our ground.

I agree with most of your points, but there are other ways of running a club than just pumping money at it and still improve the club. You have only got to look along the coast a few miles at Eastbourne Borough.

Gaz, the sheer amount of money spent and players brought in indicates that the ambition to win the league was there. so not exactly settling for County League football even if there are other issues aside from cash so not sure what you suggest as an alternative assuming Dave is not going to give his ownership away for free. Are you aware of any other viable options?

As mentioned this has come up lots of times and there have been no serious alternative party's even proposed and until there is something new to report its not worth going over time and time again.

Easy to call for change at the top to hope for a different result but without any genuine alternative it's just talk.

Eastbourne Borough I believe benefit quite substantially from the indoor bowls club adjacent to the ground. I may be corrected if that's wrong but that really has to help if that's the case. We unfortunately don't have the benefit of being able to draw on any other income other than what's currently in place. A business plan was drawn up a few years ago to build a new stadium and that would of helped generate additional income but as per the councils usual stand they didn't want to know. The town would of benefited immensely not just the club.

It wasn't me I was defending it was the comments made to OTT, Negativity is justified in light of recent events.
Just to point out that DW doesn't own the club, he has the Majority of shares so technically he has responsibility for doing the best for all shareholders.

You can say what you like about DW's decision making (I for one cannot believe that he turned down Dean white in favour of John Maggs), but you cannot question his commitment.

As majority shareholder he could, theoretically, have decided to take all of the cup money out of the club. Instead, he has re-invested it in trying to get us promoted. Given the grief that he has to endure, I know I would have been tempted to take the money and run.

As for Scott price, how is he ever going to demonstrate that he can cut it at this level if he isn't given a chance? Many on this forum have compared our league to the county league anyway, and he has been pretty successful there. I'm sure Scott could persuade a few local favourites to return (especially jack Dixon), who should in turn show a bit more passion, and fight for the cause.
Given that most of us have already given up this season as a lost cause, isnt it the perfect time to give him a go?

dean white would have been great appointment but imagine he would want so much miney to replace what he get at his job.
does anyone know how much football club sell for. it is strange one. dont think we own ground so guess it worth the name, the worth of the lease and the money it makes plus what it asset is which i can not think is more than money in bank and furniture, tools. if we still have all that money from fa cup then would club be worth so much that no one would buy. i think 150,000 maybe more? if someone want to buy it i dont think now a good time but wait to money run out from fa cup but hope then we may be back in premier but then if dw dont want to sell i think no one can make him?

Don't think I was bullied. I just hold a different view. Healthy debate isn't wrong. I respect others' views even if I don't agree with them. I rather hope that others afford me the same, as contrary as my views may be - and I believe I haven't bullied anybody else either, or been abusive. Hope those I've upset will at least agree with that.

I really hope that this game - how sad it ended for Terry - may be the turning point. Of course the players - who
we thought were all good enough - will have to take a serious look at themselves -.

You can't always blame the Manager - they have also their own responsibility !
