We've got plenty of time to plan/save up for this. Is there any chance of getting some group travel discount, especially if we could travel with the team ? Perhaps some of the supporters club fundraising could be used to subsidse it ?

The teams travel is organised by Guernsey so doubt that would happen although having said that seeing its on a Saturday it won't be an overnight stay and will probably be an early kick off. I think that we have to agree to that but I may be wrong.
There is an official tour company that offer reduced rates etc and also a cancelation guarantee where if the games postponed they will arrange for travel to be changed.

It is not possible to use SC money to subsidise travel. I think Guernsey could do more than offer a travel agent as they are the only club that fans have to fly or travel by ferry to be able to watch their team. It hits us hard as we have a brilliant and dedicated away following.

Hi Folkestone Invicta supporter here.I see on a post on the Guernsey forum that their ground has been double booked with the rugby club for 4 dates this season(hope this is correct info) yours being one with Carshalton, South Park and Merstham being the others. It might be wise to check if this is correct because I wouldn't like the thought of you having to reorganise at the last minute like we had too for the last game of last season(which was a pain in the a***).Look forward to two good tight well fought matches against you this season. Please delete this post if this is incorrect.Kind Regards.

This is becoming a real joke now they really are a pain in the arse with everyone in the league having to bend to their requests.

if this is correct then it's normally a later kick off which will mean an overnight stay.

You'll have to excuse my ignorance, but why is it not possible to subsidise travel ? Sounds just like the sort of thing a supporters club could do.

I think the whole thing is an utter farce. Nothing against the good people of Guernsey at all, but why the Ryman league decided to admit them is beyond me. If you allow a team such as Guernsey to join then there are going to be major issues for travelling supporters and a distinct "home advantage" for Guernsey. Surely accommodating them CANNOT be at anyone elses inconvenience? As Barry says – the league bend over every time to accommodate them, and beggar the rest of us. So a possible overnighter and another game I cant get to because I cannot justrify that expense.

What have Guernsey got that makes the league bend over?? You can bet your life that if any mainland team started to try and switch kick off times they would more than likely get refused. About time the Ryman league thought of the majority and not just one team. Fuming – makes my blood boil.

The funds raised by the SC are donated to the football club for general running of the organisation or specific items such as the floodlights. I cannot see how subsidising a few to travel can be justified when the money is from many supporters.
Totally agree with Pat and Barry can't see the justice if this is allowed to happen.

Thanks for clarifying . I just thought that a little help might make it affordable for those who might not be able to go otherwise.

I think it is different personally as Cray is not an island but you are right Peter- not much point in getting steamed about it. I posted at the hottest point of the day when I was especially irritable....
