Mass walk out of players and manager at Hythe Town FC because of budget problems. Thought they did really well last season considering their off field problems. Players like Shaun Welford and Craig Cloke on the look out for a new club. Neil Cugley-what a great job he has done at Ashford and Folkestone over the years-also reporting problems at Folkestone. Hope they can overcome them and sort out their damaged main stand.
The stand is owned by the council and was not insured hence it not being repaired. I understand the council told Folkestone that if they repaired the stand then they would renew their lease. I think the lack of movement on not repairing the roof on the stand is a sad sign that they don't have any money. When I looked at it the other week it didn't look like it needed that much to repair it but then again I'm no structural engineer.
I believe the walk out of players at Hythe happened about 2 months before the end of the season, I may be wrong on that though.
