On Easter Monday we play against the champions of the League Peachehaven.
They lost last Saturday away to Corinthian 2-0 and that was the first defeat after many wins.
They had only against Guernsey a decent crowd of 252 at The Peachehaven Sportspark
Sometimes there were under the 100 spectators at their home games.
One of the stars is Charlie Walker who scored already 35 goals.
They scored already 125 and conceded 51 goals. They played 22 games at home , won 17, drew 4 against Tooting,Walton & Hersham,Faversham and Horsham ( 5-5 ! ). The only game at home they lost was against Three Bridges 2-3.
And Hastings ? After the good win against Whitstable Town the U's need 4 points to secure a play-off place. Let's hope that the injured players ( Frankie ? ) will be fit for this crucial game !
Good luck to Sam, hope he gets a chance up there and gets picked up by them, if he does although he's not on contract to us or anything ( full time education ) you would hope that Hull would recompense us somehow, does happen often that way.....
Full time 2-1, we are now 6 in the table and facing a deduction of points because we had a player on the pitch against Faversham who wasn't allowed to !
What an absolute bloody joke! He shouldn't have even been anywhere near being in the squad in the first place (as I said at the time). We had U21 & if need be U18 squad players that could have warmed the bench on that day, but no, we had to ignore that and bring in the goalkeeping coach's son.
We were aware that there may be difficulty with ex-Rye players because Woodley had a similar problem and had to get clarification and clearance from the County FA over a similar matter of suspension when playing for Rye.
That 1 point could end up being the difference between play-offs and no play-offs. What a **** up!
I think that one point can only make the difference if we would draw and Burgess would loose.
I think the only hope for us that we will win ( no doubt about that ) and Burgess will not win.
Then we are 5th in the table.
Decent enough performance today, but just missing too many big players and too many carrying injuries. To be fair Peacehaven looked like they were in 2nd gear most of the match but they certainly didn't look 31 points better than us. Good effort from all of the guys and I thought Timmy and Ben were excellent.
Fantastic support again today and we must of had near on 100 of the pathetic crowd of 175. Very strange bunch of supporters over there, reminds me a little of Wealdstone, and how the ground meets Ryman premier standard is anyone's guess. As for the referee.....
So on to the final game next week and still with a decent chance of play offs even though it is out of our hands. Burgess Hill have a tricky game down at in form Sittingbourne and I still think we have an excellent chance of some how scraping in at the end. Do we deserve it? not really, but ill take it anyway it comes.
The Club regrets to advise supporters that its play-off prospects are set to be hampered yet further by the deduction of one point for fielding an ineligible player in the goalless draw at home to Faversham Town on March 31, 2014.
An unfortunate sequence of events that evening commenced with young left back Sam Cruttwell suffering a knee injury during the warm-up, forcing a last minute amendment to the U's starting eleven, Charlie Bachellier stepping in for his first game of the season.
A knock-on effect of that change was the inclusion of newly signed Bryce Masters amongst the substitutes, the former Rye United and Sidley United defender coming on for his senior debut in the eighty-ninth minute, having previously represented United at Reserve Team level during the 2009/10 campaign.
However, it later transpired that Masters should have been serving a two match suspension for accumulating ten bookings since the start of the current campaign in his time playing for Rye. The ban had actually only come into effect on March 29, by which point Rye had already long since decided to withdraw from Division One of the Sussex County League.
From the Club's point of view, this is clearly a deeply regrettable administrative oversight, which has now led to United being charged by the Football Association for a breach of disciplinary rules. While the Club does have the right to appeal against the inevitable point deduction, in the absence of any mitigating factors, it will sadly have to accept the punishment due, apologise for the error, and pray that it does not have a detrimental effect on the U's final league positi

meanwhile Mickey Pearce, Eminem Jnr the one in the away shirt looking for a fight, slagging everything off and constantly calling the ref a **** in earshot of women and children were a credit to your club
I think you will find all the trouble was caused by one of your nine supporters in the ground, making racist comments towards Timmy Olorunda. The players heard it, we heard it and some of your supporters heard it.
We all heard the racist comments coming from the main stand ( if we can class it as a stand). Out of order and a poor reflection on your club. Enjoy your short lived stay in the prem.
Shame Wealdstone went up otherwise you would have had fun with their fans if you thought we were that bad! When Maidstone come down with 500+ fans your stewardless ground will suffer and wouldn't be surprised if they kick off too...
The refs reporting it anyway so I can see a fine coming or being forced to play games behind closed doors although that'll probably make no difference as you don't have any supporters anyway.
Heard the racist comments to an totally unacceptable as thought from someone in a peacehaven jacket maybe club official. totally out of order and out of date and i hope that hastings united will make a complaint about it. no stewars either to deal with it but if it was a peacehaven club official then what you expect.

Serious time now, Do you mean the side where the bar is? and at what time (approx.) did this happen? are you prepared to repeat (on here) what was said? it's not acceptable.

a race issue is unacceptable but the ref was very close to a Hastings fan (ol blue shirt) who gave him a foul mouth torrent and made a comment along the lines of "there's no stewards I could ****in stab that ref" He won't of been aware of which supporter said that
they have no steward so they can shout racist comment. congratulation to them on win the league but they have lot to learn and lot to do in the ground. noone on tunnel to protect player and officials, not sure what would happen if there was a fight, glass bottles allowed outside bar during game think is not allowed. the team is better than a county team but they pay money for that but need to make ground better as it is very poor and not a surpise that more support from hastings today than from peacehaven because not a good place to visit. on plus side chips were good
I believe they need another 100 seats for Ryman premier Peter and a minimum of 5 stewards at any game.
I struggle to understand how Lancing can be refused Ryman status through ground grading but that dive gets it?
I suggest a warning is issued to away fans in future.......make sure your tetanus is up to date.
To be fair , some of our comments were poor and smacked of sour grapes . League table doesn't lie.
I thought that sub decisions today were strange, but I don't know the full circumstances.
The ref was inadequate, but I don't think he made any difference to the result. I can't honestly say that we deserved much from the game.
Fortunately it looks like the point deduction should make no difference. (If we can't beat Crawley down, we don't deserve a play off spot)

nice comment (!), I had a such a lovely time at your place as well, looking up at your main stand I thought I was at the Amex
Knew it was gonna be poor standard but surprised how bad it was, expect they've funded the team off the payments from the massive phone mast that they've hooked flood lights up to and the landfill site next door.... Tetanus is the least of your worries, radioactive mutation is most likely which would probably explain half of their fans...

It may not be The Amex but it certainly is a thousand times better than your dump, and as for the pitch our local council pitches are better than that.

well that's certainly told me. My PTFC scarf, rosette and drum are going in the bin as we speak
think the ref did effect result dave. the free kick they got for their first goal timmy was clearly fouled before but he gave nothing then them a free kick. maybe ref was racist to but yes he was very inadequate. josh could have had a pen we he was pushed off ball first half and then he gave peacehaven a free kick for a similar push in middle of pitch. we put up a fight but think peacehaven just shade game.
i dont think abuse of there facility is called for, i just say what i saw and as i said think they have much to learn as they were a county side 2 year ago an now ryman prem but in term of ground and runing it think they need to catch up as they can have big problems there with big away support such as maidstone, tonbridge etc i am surprise it get a ryman grade at all as it is very basic. but people say that ryman south is a glory county league and think that is right.
the few support they have tho need to understand that they can not make racist comment. in some ground they go to i think stewards will call police and have them arrested
Well said Pat. But to be fair to "Mickey Pearce, Eminem Jnr the one in the away shirt", they on their own would've been louder than any of the Peacehaven fans put together this season. Passion and support makes a team a hobby and makes a team and team, not just money, a deserted field and four home supporters.
Also a bit of a joke - criticising " Mickey Pearce" for one outburst at the ref when his lot were shouting racial abuse from the stand . We all get heated during games but racism is not acceptable. As for Mickey Pearce - I'd be proud to stand beside him at any football game. He cares and he gets behind his team. End of.
ok, lets start again, I stand by what I said about blue shirt, foul mouthed and quite intimidating and not very nice in front of the women, kids or the linesman, I may have been unfair bringing Mickey and Eminem in to it.
Are the comments about our ground and facilities a bit "my garden's bigger than your garden" type of thing?
you historically are a much bigger team, this is our first season out of the SCL. (you think its bad, you should have seen it two years ago)
I enjoyed my trip to yours in Jan and ignore my "Amex" comment earlier, I like your ground, plenty of atmosphere.
As for the racism issue, no, it's not acceptable, I've asked on here for a bit more detail to find out who was responsible and will see if action can be taken, and what was said but the silence is deafening, I honestly didn't hear it but I'm not saying it didn't happen.
you seem to have had a **** time here but it's not the norm, Guernsey brought over 100 here a little while back and it was generally very good feed back from them.
Think people are forgetting the ridiculous decision from the ref to award the penalty despite it being a dead ball situation as the linesman flagged for offside a century before !!!
What an absolute dive of a ground, i've been to some pretty awful grounds over the past few seasons but this tops the lot, makes Bulverhyte look like wembley ! How that can be Ryman League Standard is beyond me, i wouldnt send my dog out on that to play catch !!!
I guess you don't really need stewards to control 70 people, but imagine wealdstone being there !!!?? To be fair, they would make the ground look better when they're finished with their antics!
Peacehaven mainly won the game today by moaning, winging and fouling our players but shouting louder at the 'shocking, racist, deluded, useless excuse of a ref' to win the decision!
Racist comments!!! Quite sad really, would love for the **** who said what he said to say it to timmy's face- then we'll see how big he is !! And to the bloke who said 'i swear on my dead mums life' to defend yourself against racially abusing someone probably wasnt the best choice of words to protest your innocence- double negative isnt it ?
Anyway, my chrisb moaning skills are finished now- by the way, no sign off him since Dave Walters onslaught, surprise surprise- and onto saturday where we have a big game against our old friend Maggsy's Crawley Down Gatwick, a win a must, but knowing us we'll make it difficult for ourselfs but get over the finish line just about. Need a big turn out from supporters and sing til our voices give up , looking forward to it !

And the flags with tipex written all over them amused me- you'd think peacehaven were on a budget cut ! Sadly though, they blocked out the lovely surrounding views of the landfill sites that help put peacehaven on the map!

on the lighter side of the peacehaven match i asked the linesman how long to go so that icould go back to my homefor the mentally bewilldered he replied six minutes and can you take the ref with you
They're still going on about us on the Peacehaven forum :)
Firstly wanting us to lose out to Burgess Hill then after a Hastings fans had a pop back this appeared :)
"THE HASTINGS SO CALLED FANS WERE THE WORST WE HAVE HAD THE DIS PLEASURE TO MEET ALL SEASON AFTER WE ACCORDED THEM ALL THE HOSPITALITY THAT WE ARE WELL KNOW FOR THEY PRINT LIES ABOUT OUR CLUB JUST BECAUSE THEY LOST A FOOTBALL MATCH THEY ARE A DISGRACE TO THE FOOTBALL FAMILY AND ALL FAIR MINDED FANS WILL WISH THEY DO NOT WIN THE PLAY OFFS AND WHY IS IT THEY ONLY GET DEDUCTED ONE POINT FOR A UNREGISTERED PLAYER WHEN A WELL RUN AND FAIR CLUB LIKE LEATHERHEAD LOSE SIX POINTS WE DO NOT WISH TO MEET HASTINGS AND THEIR SO CALLED FANS ANYMORE BUT AS WE ARE ON THE UP AND UP THERE TEAM IS IN DECLINE IT IS HARDLY LIKELY IF THEY HAD ANY MANNERS ABOUT THEM THEY SHOULD APOLOGIZE FOR THEIR VILE TWEETS BUT AS THEY HAVE NO CLASS I DO NOT SUPPOSE THEY WILL GOODBYE AND GOOD RIDDANCE"
:) done like a kipper, can tell it wasn't you that wrote the other post :)
I think that should be a capital K Dan seeing as it's the name of a fish? Shocking!
it's not the name of the fish though. 'Kipper is the name of the processed edible and smoked part of a Herring. It wasn't one of you lot that wrote that mess in capitals (above) as some kind of double bluff, was it?
hope the Peacehaven fan that wrote that in caps lock has a go at his own support for some of the racist language. found staff at Peacehaven pleasant shame one or two of the supporters made it unpleasant day with the reference to colour in their abuse of our players. but if they think that is all part of being hospitable then not sure what planet he or she is from. their fans who used that racist language are a disgrace and thought that was a thing of past but Kick it Out campaign not got to that part of the football family yet in Peacehaven.
Dont think he or she is very clever though. we lost 1 point because that what we gained from field a player that was suspended, Leatherhead lose 6 cos that what they gain from playing a player that not register correctly? not that hard to work out is it
that reference to kippers tho, might have to get some been a long time, kipper sarnie before work.

I liked your coments on the PTFC forum esp. "Inbreds" and "do try and keep your dicks out of your daughter's". Funny how, in your book, two wrongs make a right

Ramps, i saw that post on your forum and thought it was pretty funny in the context of a football forum. Then again it could be construed as offensive I suppose, perhaps you need stricter moderation. Does anyone want to admit to posting it? He who is without sin and all that..............
I know it was Dave, it was to highlight my point of the dangers of moderators censoring other's posts. What I might find funny might be offensive to others so who should decide these things?
They still wont let it rest! or at least one of their 6 fans wont.
HASTINGS LOST THERE PLAY OFF THIS PROVES THERE IS A FOOTBALL GOD AND WE WILL NOT HAVE TO PUT UP WITH THEIR POND LIFE FANS NEXT SEASON GOOD LUCK TO FOLKSTONE AND LEATHERHEAD WHO,S FANS ARE FAIR AND DECENT AND GET BEHIND THEIR TEAM IN A PROPER WAY AND DO NOT TELL LIES WE LOOK FORWARD TO THEIR FANS WHOEVER WINS COMING TO THE SPORTS PARK NEXT SEASON GOOD LUCK TO THEM BOTH
And at the same time I was equally amazed to read this;
Peacehaven were pleased to have confirmation that the ground has been passed to allow promotion to the Ryman Premier...
..should we win promotion. This is great news for our club who didn't even have a grading four years ago.
We will need to do lots more work over the next 12 months for the next stage of the grading which would include increasing the total covered seating and standing capacity from the current 300 to 500 by April 2015. A busy year of fundraising lies ahead....
