We dropped Bert off earlier and am gutted that we had to call it a day when we did. What a fantastic fella and am so pleased he made the fantastic effort to drive all that way to be with us today. Can't wait to catch up with him and his wife on Monday evening. What a great guy.
It certainly was a case of the Bert factor today. A complete Gentleman who loves his football and met Zac lot of supporters who stayed to meet him in the bar afterwards. If he is the lucky charm we will have to get him over more often!
This was really great today ; the warm welcome at the gate by Barrie, then by Pat and Dan at the supporters bar and the hospitality by the chairman. And also to shake hands with Simon,Mick,Liam,Steph,Sue,Dave,John,Clare ,Father x-mas,Kevin ,players and Terry and and apology in advance of all those friendly Hastings supporters i forgot. It was great to meet Bert and his lovely wife Marijke last night ..what a lovely couple .Yes ,only sorry they didn't witness a decent display from the lads . I think they saw one of the best matches by any goal keeper for years though ...well played to Josh !!! So we hope it didnt put you off Bert ... We'll keep in touch and I will be watching out for NEC's results as I know they are Bert's Dutch team .
