According to the Observer website if Monday's match against Hythe is postponed it will be re-arranged for the Wednesday that week.

That is correct Dave. Due to the increasing pressure of postponed games I believe its something that may be seen a bit more that's my opinion anyway. Obviously we won't know till Monday whether the game will go ahead or be switched to Wednesday.

Looks like the game will go on tonight so we face the current nr 14th in the league Hythe Town, the club were Ronnie played at the start of the season. They lost their 2 last games and hopefully Hastings will be able to bring the 3 points after failing that last Saturday. Main striker is 34 year old Shaun Welford who scored already 15 league goals.
Hope that Terry White can inspire the team and the supporters can see some great goals by the home club !
COHU !

Game looks certain to go ahead

My prediction 3-1 win for us, Frankie 2 & Trev - Dave Cook scoring for them

Crowd 389

I don't do predictions, (normally) but I`ve got a strange feeling some things going to happen tonight, I can feel it in my water, (or is that the medication starting to work?) who knows but I am sure we are going to see some serious action tonight

I think we will win tonight, by how much I don't really care, I just hope we do it with a bit of style and panache. With all the pathetic going-on's on the forum over the past 24 hours is has probably distracted from another poor performance by the team on Saturday and perhaps released a bit of pressure that may of been there after that result. As has already been said, lets play players in their correct position (no JJ at full back please) and lets play with some width and get players forward. I have been shocked by the amount the attendances have been dropping  and we will only get these people back through the gate with entertaining football.

Agree whole heartedly JohnW, playing with width and playing our better players in the positions where they can achieve most is a must.

Think it will be another tight win at 2-1 in front of a crowd of 295.

I would love to be proved wrong and see us give someone a good thumping by 4 or 5 goals in front of a 500+ crowd, but reality says different.

C'mon lads prove me wrong and make me eat humble pie.

Halftime: 2-1 for a crowd of 289.
Sawyer and Pogue for Hastings then Cooke from the penalty spot for the visitors.

You are almost right Hamilton !

Another 2nd half nail biter! Impressed with the first half hour, thought kenny and Frankie did well up top, lovely strike by Frankie too.

Thought Vickers was great in midfield, turning into a key player for us. It was just another one of those games where the opposition was their for the taking, but we couldn't finish them off and it went to the end.

Still as rev would want me to say, another 3 points, puts pressure on the others now.

I'm sure a lot will be said about the selection / formation etc but I'll leave that to the football purists to debate.
So from the simplistic viewpoint of a dumb southerner.......I felt today was generally a whole lot more entertaining than Saturday with three excellent goals from open play. I felt our best spell was early in the second half when we looked like we might hit four or five and run out comfortable winners... but of course we know Hastings NEVER give their supporters a relaxing second half.
I also felt KP had one of his best ever games for the club tonight.
Time for bed !

Best game i have seen this season at PF. Could easily have been 7-4, looked far better going forward, but an accident waiting to happen at the back.

Really liked the look of the new formation (3-5-2). It gave us a bit more width but it will be a couple of games before the players get used to it and plug some of the holes. If the play is down one side of the pitch the opposite sided wing back needs to sit a bit deeper to allow the 3 defenders to shuffle over and provide cover.

I salute TW for having the courage and foresight to shake things up a bit and try new tactics. As I said, it may take a short period for the players to be completely comfortable with it and it to be fully effective but it would be good if we could stick with it. If we do I can see us handing out a real hammering to some team very soon.

Much better performance last night, surprised Henson started instead of Kelly but he played fine as a the right sided CB of the three. Thought Tom was influential as the deep central midfielder and Dolan and Sam worked hard in midfield.

Bailo was finding more space down the right and the first goal came from him staying wide then a decent early cross which was brilliantly controlled and put away by Frankie who looked really sharp.

Kenny worked hard and nutmegged the keeper for the goal and kept a cool head for it.

Missed both of their goals but gather the Pen was definite but didn't see their second.

Overall a good game and result but the big test is on Saturday now and interesting if Terry sticks with the three man defense against Allen & Co!

agree with most said good entertaining game with attacking football that what pay ten quid for. good to see us attack down wings and get crosses in but also we were strong through middle. felt like we were going for the we score more than you approach but i like that but the back still look weak.

but well done terry and team for finally giving us exciting game and in the start of 2nd half thought that was best football i see from us this season but need to do longer in game. looking forward to saturday now important game hope that attendance is better now

Much much better performance with three quality goals and more important for me was the amount of shots -22 I think I heard Nigel say at the end. With a bit more accuracy it could easily have been 7 as Chris said. We looked the best I've seen us especially in the second half when we went forward more and more as opposed to sitting back and waiting to concede. Agree to an extent that we are not out of the woods yet with the defence- the second goal was an unmarked header which was disappointing and shows there is still work to be done there. If we are going to have three at the back we need to protect them a bit better as there were some nail biting moments there. Not sure their first was a penalty to be honest but all in all much to be encouraged by and a good team effort.

Excellent game with Hastings playing much better than of late.Thought the 3 at the back gave us more attacking options with Sam, Tom, and Ronnie doing very well in midfield. Sam looks better every game and did well pushed further forward in the first half. Kenny and Frankie looked a real threat up front and Kenny must have been disappointed to be taken off after doing so well with his attacking duties. Would have liked to have seen how Sean would have fitted in to this system. It looked like we went back to a back 4 in the second half with JJ pairing up with Ben again in the centre of defence. Well done to Terry and co for trying some thing different after recent matches. Good to see Zac at the match and doing well for Maidstone.

I thought we looked very dangerous second half, it looked like every time we got the ball you thought we could score. As Pat said 22 shots is encouraging but a little disappointing we didn't score more, but I will take 3 goals every game if we win them all. Funnily enough Pat had almost an identical view to me and I thought it wasn't a pen, what do others think?
Good performance only downside was Vickers coming off with a tight Hamstring, hope it's better for Saturday he has become an influential player.

Performance immeasurably better than Saturday's - just a tad frustrating that so much domination didn't result in a more emphatic win. Kenny outstanding again, nobody works harder and he thoroughly deserved his goal. And well done, Frankie Sawyer, what a good bit of business getting him back.

Guernsey next - and with no breaks at all in the two previous encounters with that lot, let's get it right Saturday.

Definitely looked better going forward but how long will McCreadie hang around if he's not starting.  Defensively a bit worry though, Guernsey may well take advantage although I hope they don't.

Ok who was behind the goal and admitted it wasn't a foul.........more to the point what were you doing behind our goal during the second half?

Part of the Hythe match report.....

With just over twenty minutes remaining, Hythe came the closest they would get to claiming a point from a tough away-day at opponents formerly of the Ryman Premier. Hassan managed to get to the byline and cross to Thompson, whose header was just tipped over the crossbar at full-stretch by Pelling.

From the resulting corner, again taken by Hassan, Pelling appeared to drop the ball into his own net. Most assumed the referee was correct with the usual decision of a foul on the keeper. However officials and supporters from both clubs, some stationed behind the Hastings goal, later confirmed that the foul on Pelling had actually been committed by his own team-mate.

Well it surprised us and we were sitting at the wood end where we usually sit so probably best to ask Josh if he got away with one.

I must admit I thought it was a tad harsh on Hythe but I'm not complaining. I said at the time keepers are to protected and that if that happened anywhere else on the pitch it wouldn't of been a foul. I didn't think it was a penalty either from where I was sitting.

Much better last night than on Saturday, as I said previously tom in the middle worked better than out on the wing. Having a proper winger in bailo made a difference as well although still looked weak on the left side! Still look defensively weak in my opinion and against better opposition I think we'd struggle with 3 at the back! As for what powels22 said about how long will Mccreadie hang around if he's not starting who would you have? I think it's obvious that Frankie's going to be first choice, and I know kenny works hard but I think mccreadies the better player in my opinion
