If we can believe the reports Nigel Kane will return to Hastings United:
Nigel Kane, who managed United to promotion via the Ryman Football League Division One South play-offs in 2007, is expected to become part of Terry White’s managerial set-up.
Personally I think it can only be a good thing. As TW says, he brings another aspect in his analytical evaluation. He is known for his knowledge of opposition teams and being able to set teams up to exploit their weaknesses. This knowledge may also be invaluable in the transfer market. TW knows him well and has worked with him before.
I'm not sure what he has been doing lately, but I'm hoping he still has the local knowledge needed.
Seem to remember (was it Nigel?) who was sent off in the Ryman South Play Off Final and come and stood with the fans. It may have been his assistant . . .
Nigel Kane, who managed United to promotion via the Division One South play-offs in 2007, is expected to become part of Terry White’s managerial set-up.
White patrolled the technical area alongside under-21s boss Ben White during Monday’s 1-0 defeat at home to Burgess Hill Town in the Parafix Sussex Senior Challenge Cup.
He said afterwards: “I’ve spoken to Nigel Kane, who all things being equal, is going to come in and help. I’ve worked with him before and I’ve managed him. He does a good job. He’s very analytical, and he’s different to me.”
Known for his attention to detail and vast knowledge of opposing teams, Kane was a United player before initially becoming joint-manager alongside Pat Brown in December 2005. The Geordie assumed sole charge a few months later and left the club by mutual consent in December 2007.
