Good entertainment at Rye this PM where 2 decent sides played an eventful game which ended 2-0 to Rye. Rye were down to 9 men when they scored their second goal from a penalty decision which resulted in a Littlehampton player being sent off. Ade, as expected, was a real handful for the Littlehampton defence and was pretty much his usual all action self. However, his knees did seem to be causing him a few problems. Greg Nessling did fine in goal and Nathan Russell was calm and composed at the back. Ben Billings was useful going forward but no Jono Richardson or Liam Upton. Antony Storey was looking to play Ade in most of the time until his sending off. Rye should start to move up the table soon as they are a useful side. Good value for £5 entrance fee.

I'm sorry, but who gives a toss about Rye and their battle with relegation. Most useless thread of the year.

Fully agree John their players are all has beens and pretty much not liked throughout the county league scene even our secretary had a bit of grief last time he went there.

I did venture to a game yesterday and you probably don't care about this but out of intrigue I went to watch a Southern League Central division game to compare things as it is the same level as us. i watched Northwood v Barton Rovers (Now stop laughing!)

I arrived at the ground if you can call it that at 14:30 and turnstiles weren't open! When they did i can only describe it as worse than Whitehawk. Pictures below. It's the first time I can remember having a pee in a converted shipping container. The game seemed far more physical than ours are but footballing wise I would have been shocked if we could not have played both teams off the park. An interesting game to watch which Northwood won 2-1 in front of a gate of 78!. A fair old bit of travelling in that league a mid week trip to St ives Town anybody?

Northwood look grim and fitting it on a thread for Rye!

Went to Rye once to watch a game when Hastings away had hastings scarf on and got snide comment as went in to ground. not very friendly like Pilot Field and if Hastings away and want a game usually go Westfield as very friendly club. Shame Sidley not going cos that also used to be a good friendly afternoon out. Agree though who cares about Rye but be good to have a local rival like St Leonards but Rye cant go anywhere and all they look interested for is FA Vase and getting to Wembley.

Think you misunderstand Peter R a bit there Barry, he's saying that its 'fitting' that it is on the same thread.

On the other hand there`s always poking red hot pokers in our eyes, now that does sound like fun.

I never look at their forum and I really can't see what they have in looking on here, as Rev has suggested there's always hot pokers in the eye!

Thanks John-feel it is something of an honour to be nominated for the most useless thread of the year on our forum. Must put it on my CV!
