Why not give young Sam Cruttwell a go at left back? He's a natural left footed player and won't be inclined to automatically cut inside like our right footed left backs have done so far. I know he's young but as so many more who are far better qualified than I am have said in the past, if you're good enough you're old enough.
Its got to be worth a go surely? Ben was pulled out of position so many times last night because of Tom Gilbert cutting inside, I just think give him a go and see what happens, it can't be any worse.
He wasn't there last night John, I presume work commitments. No ones pulling my strings Powels just an observation. Having played as a left back myself I can see that he would be worth giving a go if Bruno isn't available like last night. Being naturally left footed it should in theory stop a right footed player wanting to cut inside all the time which as has happened too often especially last night. Personally Ive thought Corrigan has been the better right footed full back playing in that position but for some reason is overlooked.
