Fair result tonight - Faversham were poor. And although we didn't have a full-strength side out, we dominated the majority of the game. Could have been a lot more if the linesman kept his flag down!
Although not a full strength squad , faversham were awful and we again played great football
Only downside was when Jordan Woodley was almost knocked out by a vicious upper cut by their number 6 who surprisingly only got booked but more shockingly Woodley being booked as well ! What was the ref thinking ??
Onwards and upwards and another cup game at the weekend in the F.A trophy!
Think Woodley was booked for initial challenge which was fair enough but the assault by Faversham player should have seen him walk.
Decent game and what was virtually a second team of Hastings beat what looked like Faversham first team 4-0! and it could have been many more as thought there keeper was there best player by a mile. we really look to have a strong squadnow and organisation looks spot on with players knowing there jobs. thought maclean did wel enough to be back in consideration of first team football and corrigan also did well. Woodley worked harder tonight but overall a good team performance and looked solid.
Thought Tom O'Connor was good and a great strike!, also thought the new 10 looked decent tonight, he was the guy who played alongside Bah in that U21 match a couple of months ago and assumed he had gone as hadn't featured since but did well.
Gotta agree with Dan Thought tom had a great game and wat a goal Plays with such intelligence for a young shoulders My MoM Matt was a close second Thought they were poor opposition but that don't take nothing away from our performance which i thought was very solid We also looked very good going forward and as Dan said OUR Michael? our number 10 had a great game and looks very promising Kenny was good for his goal ran his socks off as usual and after sat was good to see Jordan get his goal
looking forward to sat as feel we are getting a stronger and tighter unit and going the right direction
The Jordan Woodley incident was hilarious. I know Rimsay is taking the p**s because I was standing next to him and I assume Peter is too, but the Faversham no 6 ruffled Jordan's hair right in front of us. Suddenly Jordan did a full Klinsman and rolled round like he had just been taken out by a sniper. I think they had a laugh about it after the game though.
Good night all round and thoroughly enjoyed the game. Good to see Jordan get 90mins under his belt and he did okay. Matt Maclean did himself no harm at all and someone please tell me where Corrigan has been all season? Obvious problems at left back this season but I thought he was terrific.
As stated by others though, Aladetoun looked a real handful and looked strong and quick throughout. But the outstanding payer on the pitch was Tom O'Connor. 17 someone told me! what a talent and has a great future ahead of him.
So another great result and solid performance but lets keep our feet firmly on the ground. Faversham did their utmost to take over the mantel of worst ever team seen at the Pilot Field and passed with flying colours. They were that poor albeit they played only 5 of the starting 11 that beat us in September.
Really looking forward to Saturday now and continuing this nice little run we are on of 6wins and a draw from our last 7 games.
Looking at the Faversham forum their side was as changed as ours so this does tend to suggest our strength in depth is much stronger than what was a play off final quality side last year, encouraging!
Good performance last night, was very impressed with the young lads who came in. As others have said O'Connor looks a real talent. Much better from Woodley last night as well. Let's hope we can go one better than last year. Anyone know when the draw is?
Interesting fact, one of our squad last night was on the bench for an Europa Cup match last season for a European side, kudos for the first correct answer :)
