The Observer says that we have now made 3 new signings, counting dual registrations etc. I don't recognise any of them. Is one of them the "terrific signing" that johnw mentioned recently?
Cant help thinking after reading the article, we can forget about future seasons, looks like its one season at a time, with a large turnover of players.
so with at least 3 new players and more on the way I wonder if the players on their way out (probably local)have been told of their future at the club.anyone got any ideas who will get the push????
No we didn't manage to get the player JohnW was referring to, tried but he thought it was too far to travel and wants to wait for higher level interest.
Saw the two guys play for the U21s and looked ok but hard to tell from a first trial game, need to see more.

Travel was the reason we missed out on a highly rated player based in Hearn Bay at the start of the season so the excuse of players not wanting to come this far to play does hold some truth. I understand people's view that the likes of Eastbourne and Dover etc can attract players but logistically they're not on the end of the dreaded A21 are they?
Razor's idea seemed to be to create a predominately locally based squad with the longer term in view. Maggs seems to be taking a contrary approach. As Dan says earlier, the "terrific signing" referred to by JohnW turned us down partly because "it was too far to travel." He is also looking at some French guys!!!
It may be exciting, but I wonder if this short term approach is the right one?
Maggsy has made no mistake in letting people know that his job is to get us out of this league, obviously he has a different outlook to Razor undoubtedly this would happen and different players will come and go that's the nature of the game. Regarding Shonky I understand he's giving up football, I believe he was told by Brighton he'd not play football at a decent level due to the injuries he sustained, he was offered games in the 21's but sounds like he turned that down. Shame because I know Shonky is a good player and given time would of been a good asshe to the club.
I saw the two trialists at the U21 game on Monday and they both did well considering it was their first game with us at any level. They both had a bit of pace and the No 10 was a strong lad.
I hope John can get a French player as good as Landry Zahana-Oni.
Tom Chapman from Ramsgate, the number 7 winger who tore us apart in the two games against us, destined for a much higher level, much better judges than me on here also agree.
Think you will find the player based in Herne Bay was Stuart King who signed for Folkestone Invicta.
Also understand Ian Draycott, striker at Maidstone, turned us down for £300/week at Leatherhead. Think we are trying but everyone else seems to be offering a little bit more money than us for the top players available, or you could call it silly money.
I think that the atmosphere around the club has changed since our first loss and with the introduction of Maggs.
Has the team played so different since then ?. Okay some of us were not that positive since the start of the season but it seems it is going the wrong way very rapidly. Will new signings ( and it seems we cannot attract them somehow ?! ) made that change ? Or do we have to be patient and let Maggs the job do? I think we don't have to panic so soon.

It was Stuart King John you are correct. I'm not sure at what players are offered but DW has said that he wants us back in the prem and will support that. I honestly feel that our location is a stumbling block.
For me 3 quality players Judge/Ellis/Darby.But to be fair we should not foget we are only one league above County football so are very fortunate to have these 3 .ELLIS could play at a much higher level.
Herne Bay FC are delighted to announce the signing of former Bay striker Stuart King from Folkestone Invicta.
Sam Denly said "It has been no secret that I have wanted to add an experienced striker to the quality squad I already have and I am delighted that we have managed to re-sign Stuart who will, I know be very successful for us in this new spell with the club".
Sam went on to say that "We are currently working on all of the paperwork so hopefully Stuart can be included in tonight's squad against Hastings.
Sam went on to say "I would also like to thank the Chairman and committee for making this signing happen and all of the effort they have put in and the faith they have showed in me as manager".
Yep Jamie's dual reg as well, tbf I think that neither Matt or Jamie have really been played enough in their preferred positions, Matt is a behind the striker number 10 not a CM or winger as he lacks a bit of pace but has a great goal scoring instinct from deep scoring 28 in SCFL 1 last season so would imagine that he's at the top of that level if not quite adjusted to RS yet and Jamie is suited to playing off the shoulder of the last man.
Hope both bang in the goals and come back better players.

The fact that Jamie has gone dual Reg suggests a striker has come in... Any ideas? Is it that Michael Aladeton who played in Finland that played with Bah in the U21's game? Looked a stocky strong Striker but can't find anything about him...
That Ryan McBride sounds useful ( albeit at County 1&2 again ) Big strong goalscoring target man or should we be breaking the bank to find someone who is a cert at this level or higher?....
Heard last night Matt McLean has gone to Eastbourne Utd Assc county div 2 on dual registration. Just about his level I think and let's hope the club has finally realised he is not up to anything higher.
Also saw Jamie Crone scored for Little Common last night so assume he has gone as well. Good prospect in a couple of years.
Sorry Danno, but all I've heard on here recently is certain supporters moaning or commenting that players are being played out of position. It's just an excuse! I'm sorry but the standard in this league is so poor you should be able to play where ever your put. Over the past 2 seasons I have seen Sam Adams play in goal, right back, right midfield, center midfield, on the wing, off the striker and lone striker and every time he plays he gives the same standard of performance.
You don't score 30 odd goals at County 1 and become a bad player over night. Matt clearly has something about him but some players just struggle with the move up from County level.
Jamie has age on his side and will undoubtedly come good. He has actually done okay and certainly did not seem overwhelmed by the whole experience but is understandably a bit 'raw' at the moment and certainly a year too early to give him a lone strikers role at Ryman level.
Know what your saying John but think Sam Adams is the exception that proves the rule, in the same way that Jono Richardson is a solid CB but struggles at LB and Bailo is great cutting in from a inside forward position but is far less effective as a out and out CF.
Players coming down from Ryman Prem after several seasons I agree should be able to cope anywhere ( like Danny Ellis for example) but players moving UP to Ryman South from county ( which is obviously worse than RS ) need to be played where most effective to get the best out of them IMO mate.
Mcbride scored against Little Common last night so presume he's staying. Lots of money floating around at Eastbourne at the moment. Dare I say it that they have their own Mark Gardiner at Eastbourne this year.
watched this game last night and McBride scored a deflection otherwise couldn't hit a barn door, skied a peno and imo is lucky to be in a team with money he was poor against a very good little common team.also matt maclean played ok nothing special, andy Corrigan definitely nothing special, sean ray a strong defender wins everything in air but had a hard time with Jamie crone against him who did score a cracking left footed goal and seemed to enjoy the ease of the Eastbourne defence.back to the point McBride is a no-no for me.
Cheers Sindy, not seen him so only going on what I've read, didn't realise Jamie scored on his first match back, hope he gets confidence from a spell there.
I heard from a few sources now that crone was mom at the lcfc ebufc match. Mcbride scored but done nothing from that. Crone has been said to have not stopped running the whole game before coming off with a knock towards the end which then eastbourne scored when he went off? Heard its nothing serious
Didn't think county had mom but yes crone done well seemed to struggle at the end though with fitness thought little common was the better team played very good football .food luck o Eastbourne tho £££££££££££
