Dear All,

Hastings United Supporters Club has become the Phoenix, from the ashes it will grow, but to grow we need your help and support.

Last season a few hundred of us went to Middlesbrough and along the way experienced a fantastic cup run, so yes the club made some money, but this cannot be taken for granted. The downside of last season was relegation, which costs money. Everyone associated with the club would love to see another cup run, but probably more would like to see us promoted at the first attempt, again that nasty word rears its head, money.

The Hastings United Supporters Club want to help the club financially at all levels, from the youngest youth team to the first XI, but at the same time offer the Supporters of the club benefits.

That all sounds very easy, so the next home I will stand at the gate and ask everyone for a fiver, and everyone will pay up happily. Well that ain’t going to happen is it?

So what can the Supporters Club offer you, the Supporter in exchange for your hard earned fiver?

The club is trying to arrange more coaches for away games and is willing to give Supporters Club members a £2 discount on the already reasonably priced coaches. Fine you say but I don’t really go to away games, so I won’t benefit.

OK, did you know that certain Business Partners with the club offer discounts on their products when shown a Supporters Club membership card. Let’s for example take Victoria Tyres, they offer a discount to Supporters Club members. One new tyre on my car and I am already quids in. Is it getting more interesting, well let’s go out for a meal at Flavours of India, did you know that they also offer a discount, and you are getting these because you handed over a fiver to join the Supporters Club.

Right, now you are saving money but you are happy to spend with the club. Why not join the 200 Club. For just over £1 per week supporters can contribute to much needed Club funds and have the opportunity to win cash prizes each month. The funds raised will be used as follows:

•             40% returned in prize money

•             30% towards the playing budget

•             30% to general Club Funds

So by directly becoming a subscriber you will be making a direct contribution towards the playing budget, and the Club will commit to 'ringfencing' this money specifically for this purpose.

We are also offering incentives to attract subscribers. For every 5 new subscribers you can introduce, we will pay £25 commission after four months payments have been received from each of them.

OK, we have now given you current schemes, but what about future ideas.

We as a Committee are looking into holding boot sales, and would offer Supporters Club Members discounts on selling their goods. Car parking, we are looking at opening the car park, and again offering discounts to members. If we can work deals in the club shop, we will. Future events may include, end of season party, quiz nights and various other events. These WILL NOT happen overnight, we are only just coming back from the Ashes.

How do I join?

We will have a table at home games for you to join the Supporters Club and enlist in the 200 Club. I am hoping the table will be up and running for the home games against Ramsgate.

Overall, thank you for your continued Support of Hastings United FC.

Yours

Kev Towner                        Ted Melvin

Chairman                             Vice Chair
