All in all another very good run out for the lads, apart from the opening 15mins where we looked nervous and lack any real confidence including a misjudged error from pelling  for the first gills goal, second half we pretty much took over and controlled the majority of the game, yes ino this wasnt any thing near to first team gills squad but all the same a good performance against a technically sound side, the squad seems to be gelling now, we just now have to show our class against the county teams of Eastbourne united, Crowborough and Newhaven.

Was very pleased with today's performance. I thought all of the players played well and did deserve the win. A good fight back after going 2-0 within ten minutes and then coming back to 3-2 after half an hour. Although, the Gillingham keeper seemed to have a nightmare, especially with our fifth, But, a good performance from all today!

Thought we made a good account of ourselves after a mare of a start. Lot of good shifts there. Matt McLean had a great game as did Sammy and Jordan. Liked the look of King when he came on too- grabbed a goal with his first touch. Lots of effort as well which was encouraging. Still work to be done but the players are looking like a team now. Not long to the start of the season and the real test. I'm not getting carried away yet, but I'm feeling a lot more confident already.

Do you mean Kelly that scored with his first touch? Sean Kelly, isn't? Correct me if I'm wrong!

Last season our defence mostly looked good, yesterday show how much weaker we are at back. Have always been inpressed with Peling but he had a nightmare yesterday. 2-0 down after 5 minutes against 11 kids was real bad. Eventually though more experience did show and thought Pogue took his goal well as did Maclean along with Woodley means our midfield looks stronger this season going forward than last year. Agree too Darby played well but have to remember this was against a load of kids.
For friendly tho very entertaining

Agree with Peter. Gillingham were very poor and we were told by a supporter that they were barely a C team with some youth mixed in. Defensively they looked like a Sunday pub team. I thought Matt Maclean (MOM) and Sam Adams were excellent and Darby looked solid as well. Kenny worked really hard up front again, but there is no way he is going to bring you 20 goals a season. Good target man but desperately need that new center forward and quick! Defensively we looked poor and there was no communication between Josh and the back 4. Not sure who our no 6 was but he really struggled 1st half. Josh had a very poor game. Seemed to have no confidence in those in front of him, his handling was poor and looked  indecisive on crosses. Makes you wonder why Sean didn't speak to Matt Armstrong Ford this season but sure Josh will improve as the season gets underway.

There has been a lot of pre season talk about the performances of Jordan and i thought he did okay. Some nice touches worked hard and a thumping free kick against the post. Just think when we start the serious stuff and we come up against young, fit, quick midfielders he may struggle but certainly looked a better bet than young Shonk who was very quiet.

A good run out though, and played some nice passing football at times but please lets keep in mind the opposition. They were very poor but still scored 3 goals past a shaky back 4.

Just wonder how last years poor discipline will affect our start to the season because if you throw Danny Ellis and Razor in there you got the start of a decent side. Just need that new goal scorer (Where was Bailo again?)

Believe this was Bailo's last Saturday he had to work? I'm led to believe he should be ok for rest of the season?

To be fair John, Jordan didn't have his best game so far this pre season and has put in better performances but still a marked improvement. From what I saw an entertaining game in which Gillingham offered very little in the 2nd half apart from their goal. I agree we certainly need a prolific goal scorer, young Jamie will get goals and Shonky will create them but I do feel a little more experience is needed. The real stuff starts in 3 weeks I feel we should be able to see where we are more realistically soon after.
