Gutted actually as although not prolific he defiantly had talent when in the right mood and would have been good at Ryman South, Margate is a good club for him.
I would have liked the club to have kept Zac, still young and bags of potential. I know he split opinion but my opinion is he was worth keeping. I guess it depends on who Razor brings in?
not bothered really although maybe ryman south was his level. did not rate him and for a striker his goals scored was poor. not great loss and he never showed much hunger imo, think we can do better but on signings front not much to get excited about is their
I think that's a real shame and i'll miss Zac and my chats with his mum and dad who were at most games. Really nice people
So Zac and Jack gone, not much chance of Goldburg or Vickers staying. Ellis, Razor and Crellin all suspended for the first 3 games and just one in from the county league. Long way to go but just getting a bit worried already.
Any news on Bailo, Dee or Elliot Cox? Are we retaining the services of Lee Carey for next season? The observer claims that Sean has 2 center forwards and 2 midfielders on the radar but from what I can see we are going to need 7 or 8 in before the start of the season.
Will miss Zac, but we lacked goalscorers last season and so selling Zac, who isn't prolific I think is a bad idea. I liked Zac and he had his good days. Let us hope we can get someone with equal or preferably a better ability. Matt MacLean is also a very good signing for us, lets hope that Matt amd Sam Adams can find the form that they used to have with us a few years ago.
All players are free agents so we wouldnt have had a choice and Margate are a good team and probably pay decent money, we didn't sell him, he chose to leave. He got a lot of stick on here last year and that may have played a part in his decision. Wish him all the best.
I think the mix of comments above is fair. Zac had some good games for us, he has considerable potential, and I wish him well at Margate; where I hope he will develope further as a player. However, our urgent need for next season is to find one, or preferably two, front players who can score consistently. Loan players apart, I don't see that we have had that since Ade's departure.
I think we had a fair bit to thank Zac for last season. The late winning goal at B Stortford & the miss away at Harrogate which enabled us to have the memorable televised replay, both which swelled the club coffers immensely. Found him a somewhat frustrating player. Bristling with talent & potential, which for a lot of the season just wasn't forthcoming. I don't believe the criticism he got on here would have had any bearing on his decision. Higher league & perhaps more money would. I wish him well at Margate & agree with Geoff that we need to start getting strikers & other players on board for next season, I know the club have been eyeing up certain individuals. It would be nice to see some names that have agreed to sign before we miss the boat again & have to start getting players in on loan or even worse from lower leagues.
