The arrangement for paying for away teams is defiantly still in place for next season as I found out by asking a journalist on twitter today, they are 'based' at Gatwick so teams are responsible only responsible for travel to and from the airport, everything else is paid for by their government including hotels if a mid week game ( really don't want that! )

Unfortunatly no such agreement for the fans though! Still up for it nevertheless!

Just seen this on their website...

"For Guernsey FC supporters wishing to travel to away fixtures, special fans' travel and accommodation packages are available from the club's official travel agent partner, Travel Solutions (contact - Mandy Eulenkamp on 01481 737823, mandy.eulenkamp@travelsolutions.uk.com or www.travelsolutions.uk.com).

Similarly, Travel Solutions offer special travel and accommodation packages for supporters of visiting clubs to Guernsey and 'groundhoppers' wishing to visit the island to watch a GFC home game.

In many cases, the arrangements available via Travel Solutions offer not only some of the most competitive fares and rates, but also the ability to re-schedule bookings without charge in the event of games being postponed due to weather issues.
As always though, our advice to avoid disappointment and to ensure availability of flights and accommodation, is to book early!"

Sounds promising!

Got to be one of the first fixtures to look for when the fixtures come out. Just had a look at flights and its not to bad if you look at a possible flight in August/September time roughly about £100 from Gatwick, the ferry however seems a obit more expensive with the cheapest option being around £350 return for a car and 4 passenges from Weymouth, given that Weymouth is a journey in itself the better option for the same time of year by ferry would be Portsmouth for just under £400 but then youd have to add fuel costs.

Be good to see what sort of deal the travel company could offer, I'd expect the team would fly. Guernsey were due to finance the trip for away teams but I believe this has now been reconsidered but it must be a struggle out for clubs that don't have too much finances available?

I may have to offer my services as kit man for that game. I'm sure Deano is banned from the Channel Islands!

What a joke, letting Guernsey in, they should never have been allowed to enter an English league

It's nearer than Middlesboro, Newcastle or Carlisle perhaps they should all be in Scots football.
I will try and get a long weekend out of it if the game falls in either autumn or spring. If it is in the depths of winter might have to try and just go for the game.

It may be as the crow flies, but I`ve yet to see a crow that could take my weight, if it`s a midweek game my boss would never let me have two days off.  Oh yer and it`s cheaper to go to Middlesboro etc......

The makeup of the various divisions will not be known until later this week.

I think the excitement will be in the novelty factor! Pricey probably but used to spend best part of £100 a match watching a match spurs so in context seems like a pretty decent deal!

Hopefully be a one off as we go straight back up... ( Dont think their ground is likely to be good for Ryman Prem at the moment by the look of it as not enclosed on all sides )

looks like its Peacehaven and Redhill from Sussex County and Erith and Belvedere  / VCD atheltic from Kent league who will be making up the numbers, think the FA will make an announcement in a week or so.....you can see why everyone is getting excited about Guernsey now !!!

I wonder what ground on the mainland Guernsey will use for their home midweek fixtures this season.

I believe they use their own ground and that they have to pay for teams to stay over night for midweek games as their airport closes at 9pm.
