Just wondering who is likely to stay on next season personally I hope Sam Adams Jamie Crellin Danny Ellis and Jack Dixon stay and maybe zac but not many others personally!!!!
Rumours were circling around a while ago that Whitehawk wee interested in Jack. I hope we keep Armstrong-Ford, Cox, Sam Adams, Jamie Crellin, Ellis, Dixon. However we NEED a striker.
Think there's no chance of either Tonbridge letting Suarez go or him wanting to come back, the loan spell was pretty much a testing ground for them to see if he'd recovered from being in a coma for a week in November, once he scored 4 in 6 for us they recalled him immediately and he scored 2 on his first game back for them!
Great player but sadly IMO no chance at all of his return :(
I'd take Andy Atkin From Rye if given a chance.... Very similar player, 26 goals in Div 1 this year and has played at conference prem & South levels...
Agree with all those and would also throw Ben Judge in the hat, as captain. Bailo looked good at the end of the season before he got injured but we need him available for every game as his work commitments seem to be a problem.
I agree with what has been posted so far but we really need an experienced striker and another centre half if Sean's knee gives out or if he decides to concentrate on managing the side. I also agree that Ben would make a good captain.
Lets not forget, unless i'm mistaken, that at the beginning of next season we lose Danny and Crells for the first 3 games, Sean for 4 and Vickers for 7.
The desperate need is to get a striker who can actually score, while creating opportunities for others. In that area, I don't think we have ever properly recovered from Ade's departure. The only time this season (cup run included) when I felt we had a quality target player up front was the few brief games when we had Suarez on loan. No chance of him being available I suppose? .... and if he is, would he come?
Need more than 1 striker need 3 at least all competing cant rely on 1 player to score you all the goals Pat Harding has scored a lot in a midtable ryman south burgess hill side.?
Agree Andy Atkin would be a good asset from Rye, as well as Matt Maclean they have scored over 50 goals between them and Dom Clarke with 20 odd. Players from higher leagues will NOT want to drop down to Ryman South ( unless offered mega bucks ! ) so trawling the county league has to be a worthwhile option. There are some good young players who would like the chance to step up to Ryman South. Only problem is we will be fishing in the same pond as our neighbours Eastbourne Town and Peacehaven.
On the need for additional centre backs, whatever happened to Rhys Wyborne? It only seems a short time ago that he was putting in outstanding and consistent performances for us.....
What are other's opinions of Jono? At times I have thought him out of his depth; but there seemed to be a definite improvement towards the end of the season. For my part, I would keep him.
I personally can't see Jono being at the club next season, he wasn't consistent enough and played more games as a sub then staring I believe. I don't think Kenny Pogue is an option either, I for one was very impressed with him the first game I saw him and then I never saw a good performance from him again. I don't think County league players are the answer, just look how Sam came back from Rye ok he's getting there now but we need to hit the groundrunning next season not waiting 7 or 8 games forthem to get up to speed. Suarez was an ideal candidate but he's too good for Ryman South. I will say this that the hunt for players is already on.
True reflection Barry I was thinking of possible local lads as seems we had loads of London players last year just think local lads might be up for it like as u Said Sam looked good at end of season can't wait to hear when the new signings happen will be interesting!!!!
Perhaps the question should be "What players will stay at Hastings?" Some of our better players may be looking to move on. Thought Daniel East did very well for us in difficult circumstances having to take over from Liam. Will Matt be fit next season? In the matches I saw at Rye Sam was always the stand out player-not sure how Andy Atkin would do. Haven't seen a couple of their younger players who have been playing towards the end of the season but they sound pretty useful. I think we will need a stronger side than this season to be serious contenders for promotion- hope we can assemble a strong squad.
The rest I would not bother with. If money is available for a promotion push we should not have to go to County League for players but Mclean and Atkin are good shouts with plenty of goals.Cant believe the comments about keeping Richardson and getting Wyborne! Neither are good enough proboably nice guys but not for me.Need a left back, a more creative midfield player and mclean would fit that bill and striker that can score! That would be a good start.
I've known Tom for a many years despite his young age. He's got a lot of talent. He can be an outstanding player however he has a poor attitude, if he's managed right like he was at Brighton I can see him being one of the best if not the best centre midfield players in the league. Trust me the lad has a lot to offer if he's managed correctly. I do agree he has been a liability this season and if I didn't know him I'd be saying the same.

Fair enough Barry I don't know Tom I'm just going by what I see on the pitch if he is like that then he's the kind of player we need if he can sort his on pitch antics out and I hope next season he is managed better could fill the Carey role him and crells in midfield
I can understand both sides of Arrows27 and HastingsLion - Tom has been a liability and fifteen cautions including three red cards is unnacceptable. Two in a week is even worse and a seven match ban shows for that. However, on a good day Tom does have a lot of potential and can really shine. We've seen him have his good games and create really good chances - I remember seeing him nearly lob a goalkeeper from 35 yards, but hit the bar. That's the potential he has and if he's manages right, he can be deadly!
When i included Vickers in my keep list it did cross my mind about his discipline. Under the right manager i think he could blossom and be one of the best players in ryman south but all the time Ray is manager with even worse discipline Vickers will struggle. still worth keep him as i think after a few games there will be a manager change
Good point about discipline and this needs to be a key part of next season as has been proven it costs games and points.
See Ade scored twice for Maidstone yesterday how we needed him this season and he lives on our doorstep!!! wonder if we can tempt him back?
Might be worth having a look at some of the Tunbridge Wells boys who put up a gallant fight at Wembley yesterday as well as their manager Martin Larkin who must be a sought after young manager.
