Didn't go but went to the PF to see the reserves . We were told that we didn't have a sub goalie and Tom Vickers had to go in Goal after Liam went off with a recurrance of an old injury. There were several supporters who usually go to away games but refuse to go to Wealdstone, they can come on and give their reasons if they like. The reserves deserved their win but made hard work of it despite having been the better side for most of the game. Matt Cruttwell did well in goal and a couple of the youngsters look good prospects if we can bring them on and keep them. Well worth a visit as the lads played some entertaining football, especially as it was their first game for six weeks. Be good to see more support for them in the comming weeks.
Happily explain why 3 of us supporters werent there , after spending £32 each on a train ticket , 4 hour train journey only to london victoria which included a bus from lewes to 3 bridges and getting to london victoria at 4.00pm and being told theres still another hour and a half journey to wealdstone there was little point in carrying on.
Still , spending £32 on a train ticket , plus planning on a tube ticket, £10 match ticket plus beer and food money , costing in around £50-£60 each obviously isnt good enough to some fans and some have the cheek to question and somewhat ask for reasons as to why 3 supporters who go to every home and away game , coach or no coach takes the absolute p!$s in all honesty !
Maybe get your self to some away games before questioning the clubs supporters? And away games does not only include middlesbrough !
I was referring to the supporters who were at the ground yesterday and had decided not to go to Wealdstone. It was not a pop at the brilliant away support that we have but the reasons given needed to be put on the forum by those who made the comments not second hand. I go to as many away games as I can but when I can't I try to see the reserves.
I sympathise with xRimsayx about the rail problems. Fortunately I went on the Charing Cross line , 2 hours 30 minutes door to door. As for the number of United supporters there, I estimate about 20. The result there can be no argument about , they were the better side. faster , slicker and wanted the ball more. Could not understand why we have no substitute keeper at this level, after all 5 substitutes are allowed. Neither could I understand team selection, picking Adrian Stone before an inform Danny, or Bailo or Dee. Still onward and upward -3 points at the caravan site next week - I mean Concord Rangers !!!!
Feel sorry for those that had train problems. Had some friends that went to London yesterday and said it was a joke. They wern't going to football.
why do some supporters refuse to go to Wealdstone? Have they got bad breath or do they smell?
sounds like we were not very clever then (on the pitch) . I think someone put on another thread that we need a more settled side rather than chopping and changing. I think there is some merit in it but agree Ellis always looks as if he is capable of producing something so strange if he did not start.
I applogise santa , i miss read your message and i apologise for my awful spelling coming up but hopefully those who do critisise the away support or any support for that matter might take onboard what was said in my measage.
We're going about 3 years (if that!!) back where we entertained wealds-scum at the pilot field and because we won 2-0 the players decided to be spoilsports and get their primark handbags out after the game and while that was going on , some of the wealds-scum "massive" decided to come over to the supporters in the elphinstone stand and have a punch up, hitting one of our supporters , since then some have refused to put money into their club , i dont know if theres any other reason but thats the main one.

I think you are being nice Dave when you say "hit one of our supporters". It was hospital and broken bones when it happened. May i also add that they were adults , probably 40 plus, starting trouble with lads that were 15/16. Well hard!!!
I knew the reasons but thought it best if those who made the choice came on a put their point. Have to agree Phil, can't understand not having a sub keeper. We had a couple of promising lads earlier this year but we seem to have mislaid them.
Oh, so thats why. Think I remember they caused trouble at Lewes last season or season before. Obviously a few bad apples who can blame supporters from not wanting to visit them.
